Sid
We had such a wonderful time at this sit! Suj and Sid were incredibly generous hosts, even cooking us dinner on the first night and giving us free reign of their well-stocked kitchen. Communication was brilliant and they’re such lovely people who immediately made us feel at home. As for the dogs, we fell in love straight away. We spent hours snuggling them and barely wanted to leave the flat! Taco is such a soft, gentle sweetheart. He can be a little hard to handle on walks, so best to be walked by someone who can manage his pulling. Zorro is beautiful and loves to always be right next to you, but he is a puppy so does need to be let out every few hours to do a wee. Both dogs love to play together and they get along so well. We watched a lot of movies with them cuddled up on our laps, keeping us warm and melting our hearts. I definitely recommend this sit to a couple (or two friends, like us) who can share the load of walking and letting the dogs out, because this is such an ideal pet sit. Taco and Zorro truly are such darlings and we miss them already. Thanks Sid and Suj for everything, we’ll be back in a heartbeat if dates line up!

Charles
This was a dream sit, and we're happy to give it our highest recommendation! Charlie was a great communicator with a beautiful and comfortable home in a wonderful part of Alexandria. He went the extra mile of having a housekeeper come before and after the sit, which meant a pristine home, and an easy last day for us. Best of all were Max and Elsie, who both stole our hearts within hours of meeting them. Max is a lap cap, and Elsie loves her couch snuggles and walks. We were quite sad to leave them!

You'll love this sit - go apply!

Emma
John and Emma were extremely helpful to us in arranging a car rental, picking us up at the train station, delivering us back, and providing us with a meal up upon our arrival along with breakfast the following morning, before their departure for the UK. We arrived during a scorching heat wave in early August, so watering their nearby allotment and back yard took quite a lot of time, though most of the year we would imagine this to be substantially less time consuming. Nevertheless, we had an interesting, pleasant stay and got to explore l’Aude extensively. We also had unfailingly pleasant interactions with the merchants in the nearby village and one of their neighbors and fellow gardener at the allotment.

Shanti, their young cat, was easy to care for. He spent some time with us in the sitting room and at night, but was pretty independent much of the time. As he had free access to the great outdoors, there were no litter boxes to attend to. We had our own guest room, with access to a pleasant to use kitchen, bathroom, and sitting room. Moreover, there was an outdoor sitting area in front of the house and a larger dining area and small pool behind it.

John and Emma were easy going, helpful, and enjoyable to be around. We prepared some pizzas for them and their grandson upon their return, so we had the opportunity to interact with them quite a lot both before their departure and after their return. We highly recommend this sit, especially since we enjoyed it despite facing the least ideal weather conditions anyone is likely to encounter in this relatively quiet corner of France.

Jules and Rich
I spent 10 days in Bristol at Jules and Richs' home along with Suki and Fred! What an honour and treat it was to look after these two amazing little characters. Fred was especially alluring as he is only a puppy, but really well trained, and a delight to have around all day even whilst I did some work. The walks twice a day into the woods and open fields right behind the house are just amazing and such a great space to let the dogs run free chasing sticks and each other.
Their home is just perfect, a really comfortable space to work, cook, sleep and relax with every amenity that you need. It has a homely and loving energy about it all. Shops are close by and the surrounding area really great to explore if you haven't been before.
A wonderful, friendly and welcoming couple, Jules and Rich cannot have been nicer hosts. I could not really say goodbye to Fred and Suki, those eyes, oh yes, just those sad looking puppy dog eyes!!!
If I am available, I will go back at the drop of a hat! Thanks Jules and Rich for your kind loving generosity and hospitality.

Ruth
I really enjoyed my sit at Ruth’s place. The bungalow was homey, the bed super confortable and the wood stove provided atmosphere as well as heat. It felt good to be back on a real horse farm - complete with mud. A trip to the local Leclerc supermarket provided some 12-euro rubber boots, and I was set. The horses were good, although Warpaint can be a bit difficult when he wants, so this is not a sit for someone not familiar with horses. By the middle of the week, the horses and I were in a groove and I got them to come in when I called. Hunter, the dog, was really sweet. He accompanied me on my mid-morning explorations of Gers. For those who have never been to this part of France, it is known for Armagnac and Foie-Gras. There are lots of small restaurants in the neighboring towns with special lunch menus that are delicious at a reasonable cost. A car is definitely a plus for this sit.

Addie Pearl and Meatball were very sweet and funny little characters who kept me on my toes all weekend! Had the best time chauffeuring them around on the golf cart and taking them to run around the beach! 🏖️ The house was lovely and very comfortable with a cozy guest room and amazingly comfortable queen bed! It was so relaxing to wake up to two little wet noses nudging me to take them for their morning walks! The neighbors were very friendly and even the local deer would walk up and say hello! Jamie and Dan were very accommodating and even picked up some snacks for me at the supermarket! I had full access to the fridge and pantry and I absolutely went bonkers for the Nescafé machine which kept me going on jet fuel every morning! Really enjoyed my stay there!
