This sit was a bit complicated by the unexpected additional requests by the homeowner upon my arrival. There was also extensive road work being done outside the condo that continued throughout my 2 week stay. I did enjoy some of the other amenities on site and in general Ladysmith has some great shops and a great beach area. Also enjoyed the bike paths The cat Mia is a friendly cat who enjoyed cuddles and daily jaunts outdoors two times a day. She was very vocal about these outings happening on her timeline.
We absolutely loved our stay at Bridget's home. Bridget was so friendly and welcoming, as were the lovely Rolo and Jeffrey. Bridget's home is lovely and is in such a beautiful part of the world. The views were beautiful. It was lovely to come home and sit by the fire after long walks with Rolo. Jeffrey was lovely for cuddles in the evenings. There were 2 tortoises too which we were excited about but they didn't need much looking after as they were preparing to hibernate! Would love to come back again some day. Thanks Bridget for such a lovely house sit.
We had a great time looking after Bert the cat! He is very friendly and sweet once he has gotten to know you a bit! The hosts left clear instructions and it was a really lovely home and area of london to stay in!
We had a great time sitting for Chase! He is really just the sweetest dog ever, and we miss him already😭 The instructions left by Yolanda made the sit super easy, and if we did ever have any questions, she was quick to respond. We can’t recommend this sit enough:)
A really nice experience. I only got to spend four-and-a-bit days with Ollie, in Shauna and Jonas's comfy, attractive apartment. But I thoroughly enjoyed them. Ollie is an extremely chatty boy with probably the widest range of sounds I've heard coming from any cat. He's very easy to look after; even takes his medicated meal every other day without complaint. He's not a lap cat, but he will settle down next to you in the evening and either doze, watch TV ... Or keep an eye on the pesky neighbours (something he also likes to do from the balcony!) He likes to play, in short bursts, and has a real turn of speed - be warned! I dropped round to learn the ropes the night before the sit began. Shauna and Jonas were friendly and laid-back, but also gave very clear instructions. Their Welcome Guide was also comprehensive, without being micro-managing. Communication was good throughout. I have to note that they were very patient when I messaged them during their trip away, asking questions that were already answered in the Guide, but I'd managed to forget - doh! They also left me a welcome gift, which I did not expect and which was very much appreciated! The location is ideal for exploring west London. It's a short and very pleasant walk to the nearest station at Strawberry Hill. From there, and on plentiful buses, you can visit attractions from Richmond Park, Kew Gardens (for which I was left a Get In Free card - thanks Guys!), Syon House and Ham House, to further into the City centre. Not forgetting Strawberry Hill House itself. Hampton Court Palace isn't much further. Very highly recommended!
Juliet and Jamie have a substantial, impressive home in an idyllic small village location just a short 15 minute drive from Cheltenham town centre, providing a perfect combination of rural tranquillity and access to great amenities, both shops, entertainment and places of interest. It's a walker's dream having the Cotswold Way literally on the doorstep. Juliet and Jamie are quite particular about how things are run but have provided a comprehensive sitters guide and are happy to be contacted if you have questions. They also have a lovely lady to do the cleaning. It's a substantial house in an out-of-the way location so may not be for someone on their own. We loved pulling on our boots and exploring the countryside around. We were treated to snow and were glad of our four-wheel drive vehicle, the aga and the log burners. Most importantly Juliet and Jamie's dogs are a delight to look after and did not give us a moment's concern - they are calm, obedient and affectionate, unless you are a stranger on a walk and then they can be a bit defensive, but being small they are easy to handle and quickly move on to exploring. We would happily return if invited and recommend it to other sitters.
