To be requested by Susanna and Mario was one of the greatest honors we have had yet as professional pet/home sitters. All we needed to hear was... Tuscany! Of course, there was much more to this sit than just Tuscany. Baloo, the Bernese Mountain Dog was the best! A giant of a dog (but such a baby still). We fell in love with him immediately. That said, there is a reason we were chosen to care for him. Baloo does not know his own strength and can sometimes test you on walks. Having experience (and strength) to handle such a large and powerful dog is an absolute must. All that said, we had no problems at all. Susanna's and Mario's home was amazing! Could not have asked for a better Tuscany experience. Nothing but million dollar scenery no matter which way you looked. And... just minutes out of Florence. Even close enough to Venice and Siena for Sherrie to take day trips to while myself and Baloo enjoyed staying in the countryside. If you are looking to be away from the home for long periods (4+ hours), would not recommend this sit (Baloo really loves to have "his" people nearby as much of the day as possible). Thanks Susana and Mario for inviting us, preparing two amazing meals for us and making your home feel like our home. We will never forget all your kindness and look forward to seeing you again. We really enjoyed our stay looking after Maya and Tinky in Rebecca and Trevor's comfortable home; we had a lovely time and developed a real affection for both Maya and Tinky. Rebecca and Trevor welcomed us into their home the evening before their trip and gave us a brilliant briefing on the house and all the pet routines including taking us on accompanied walks with Maya. Tinky is very easy to care for; she lets herself in and out of the house for short periods never giving us concerns about her whereabouts. In respect for her age, we fed her little and often as Rebecca and Trevor had advised and she was always eager to join us on the sofa for strokes. Maya is a sensitive and wonderfully affectionate dog. She was a little defensive on the first evening but by the next day she had adjusted to us very well. Her recall was excellent and she was very tolerant of our initial increased use of the lead. She ate well and rarely pestered us for food. At night, she went to bed without demur and remained settled until we came down in the morning. On three occasions we went out for two-three hours without Maya and she was very accepting of this. It was great to be able to walk Maya early morning and evening in the field above the house and an absolute joy to take her on a daily longer walk along footpaths and quiet lanes to the coast path and back along a woodland stream where Maya loves to paddle. We experienced some great autumn weather - some days were wet and wild and others warm and sunny; against the beautiful Cornish backdrop you could not fail to enjoy both. Rebecca and Trevor are very conscientious pet owners and we are grateful to them for the faith they put in us to care for Maya and Tinky; we always knew that we could contact them easily and enjoyed sharing tales of our days with the girls. Thank you to Rebecca, Trevor, Maya and Tinky for giving us this opportunity and ensuring that we had a lovely time.
We had a great time taking care of Sammy and Yoda! The house is located in a beautiful small town. Most of the time we took Sammy with our car to the beach (ca. 10 Min.) Leonie and her Family are super friendly. We instantly felt very welcomed and got clear, good instruction. They have a lovely home with a garden.
We really enjoyed this stay, Peggy was very cute and really easy to look after. Carlas flat is lovely, we had a comfortable stay and would like to return in the future if ever needed! Thanks for having us :)
Nellie and Ryan were super gracious and helpful, and Navi, Peter, and Hooly were all so sweet. The house is really lovely and in walking distance to anything you might need, with easy bike paths around town that even goes to Pullman if you wanted to explore another town by bike. I appreciated how organized everything was and how easy it was to communicate if I had any questions!
