If TrustedHouseSitters gave AA rosettes - I feel Jenny should have them all, she deserves it! Jenny is really well seasoned with TrustedHouseSitters, an experienced ‘super host’ in my view. So incredibly kind from the get go - generously picking me up from the airport upon my arrival and organising an ideal first day of doggy onboarding, local tour of the village, and even a lift to the supermarket. The kind handover was much appreciated and definitely best by our favourite furry friend.

My Mum then joined the next day (due to travelling from a different origin to myself) and Jenny & Geraint jetted off on their own trip. As much as we were so thankful to have had the joy to meet this lovely couple - their beloved hound Tali (a gorgeous inside and out Welsh sheep dog) was really the star of the show!

I remember applying to this dream sit as soon as I saw Tali’s adorable face pictured. Indeed - in person he stole our hearts immediately and was the most perfect company to enjoy the beautiful Founex and surrounds. It was heavenly to walk the fields and vineyards straight from his front door. Tali is fantastic off lead, stays so close and has perfect recall.

I found it great that Switzerland is so well set up for four legged friends. We loved the Swiss country vibes but it was also fab that Founex is so well located, and is connected with public transport. Just like myself, I understand Tali is more of a peaceful country lover than city fan so good for any future sitters to keep this in mind.

Back at home Jenny and Geraint’s place is utterly exquisite - a dream home that they’ve clearly put so much love, time and care into building. So many well thought out details and clever technology! Tali is the heart of the home, so gentle, polite and sweet, loves his belly rubs. He’s even cleverer than his home’s technology and easily lets you know what he would like. We loved taking in the sun together at the shore of Lake Geneva, and playing in the snow up at Saint-Cergue - a magical moment!

We feel so lucky to have had the blessing of Tali and his home, and would jump sky high at the chance to return for Tali time, and thoroughly recommend to others also - you’d be in for an utter treat!

Jenny & Geraint - thank you so much for kindly gifting my Mum and I such a special trip to Founex, it was an honour to care for Tali and we miss him loads already! Hope to see him again soon :)

Nicholas and Becci
We had the most incredible experience looking after Akira and Brian. Becci was extremely communicative both before and during the sit, and she and Nick fully stocked the kitchen for us before we arrived so we didn’t have to worry about anything while we were there. Akira is the sweetest, sleepiest girl and Brian is so cuddly once he gets his zoomies out 😂 Keeping everything crossed that we get to look after these beautiful babies again soon. Thank you so much Becci and Nick!

Steven
This was a 2 weeks stay, so enough time to get comfortable in Steven's lovely home and with Bocci, who is a darling of a dog. She was most happy when it was time for our walks, and is generally very well behaved and trained - though there are little rabbits and squirrels in the neighborhood which get her quite excited, and she is quite strong. She was my great buddy throughout, and I miss her company and our exploring together. It is a nice neighborhood, there are restaurants and shops nearby, and public transport too. I had everything I needed at the house and fresh lettuce from the garden too. I was in charge of watering some plants too - hope I did a fair job.

Deb
Cedric and Hubert were two lovely characterful dogs with whom my JRT, Harry had a fun time romping around the vineyards and woods. All 3 enjoyed an early morning walk to then settle in the shade and let me get on with my work. They enjoyed a late afternoon walk and a swim - well Cedric did anyway! They helped me water the extensive, beautiful gardens with Hubert trying to catch the spray - great fun.
The property is lovely and cool and the pool was surprisingly warm. Harry and I had a great space - bedroom and bathroom looking onto the pool. Debs and John were very welcoming hosts and very helpful . Debs and I kept in touch so that she could see how her babies were enjoying life in her absence. I would love to sit the boys again.

We spent 3 weeks looking after Lola in a beautiful area on the edge of Dartmoor National Park.

Lola is a very sweet and energetic pooch who is very accustomed to being pampered and fussed over. She loves her walks and there were many beautiful ones right from the door with many more a short drive away. She tended to pull whilst on-lead but was happiest off-lead, running wild in the woods! She loves other dogs, wanting to be friends with them all (even if they did not) so we did have to have our wits about us when walking in case of other dogs on-lead as her recall was hit and miss.

At home she enjoyed running around the large garden and playing with her favourite toys - Simon the sloth and Octopussy - but also enjoyed snuggling up with us on the sofa. She does have a tendency to bark a lot (indoors and out) and has a bark collar to deter her when barking too much. Sitters would need to be comfortable having her sleep in their bed as this is what she is used to with her owners. She eats a diet of raw chicken and homemade liver cake so poss not suitable for vegetarians/vegans as you need to prepare and feed this to her twice daily.

Becky & Jason’s home is set in a small village on the edge of Dartmoor and is very comfortable, with all the mod cons and stunning views of the countryside down to Plymouth. Sitters would need a car as location is fairly remote but local shops/petrol stations etc are only a short 15/20min drive. Communication prior to and during the sit was great and they were always on hand to answer any questions we had and kindly prepared dinner for us the evening we arrived. Unfortunately there was ongoing building work during our stay which we were only told about a week prior to the sit start date, leaving us little time to reconsider the sit or find an alternative. This was quite disruptive and had we known about this when we interviewed for the sit months prior, we would not have accepted.

This is a good summer sit and would be suited to anyone who loves exploring the outdoors, especially with Lola in tow as she could quite literally, walk all day!

My time with Leon was fabulous! He's the best and Katherine and Philip are too! They have trained Leon to perfection. He's such a delight and joy! Their home is comfortable and I enjoyed gorgeous sunsets from the San Clemente pier multiple times. San Clemente has a charming main street with lots of great shops and restaurants.

I would absolutely welcome the opportunity to hang out with Leon again anytime, and I would recommend it to anyone else too.
