5 stars for Byron, Maya, & Whiskey in Dripping Springs! Byron & Maya were great company and generous hosts, picking us up at the airport & treating us to dinner when we arrived. Their home is lovely, with a great front porch perfect for watching wildlife. The home feels remote, because the neighborhood is so quiet, but in reality, is just a 10 minutes drive from stores & restaurants, & only a 25 minutes drive west of Austin. A car is necessary though, and Byron & Maya generously allowed us the use of theirs. Whiskey is a great cat; he's sweet, friendly, playful, & easy to care for. He spends his days outside, but doesn't go far, so it was no trouble to bring him in for dinner before dark. He is a toe nibbler; so cover your feet when you sleep -lol! When hot, the garden requires watering every day, which because of it's many different components, appears a little overwhelming at first, but in actuality is set up quite efficiently so it's easy to do. We were asked to plan our days so Whiskey could be let out each morning & brought in every evening before dark, but there was enough flexibility with those times that we were easily able accommodate his schedule without inconveniencing our own. Ted & I had a lovely time with Whiskey, & Byron & Maya at their place in Dripping Springs & wouldn't hesitate to return if asked.
We had a wonderful time at Clara's! Clara was kind, communicative, and easy to reach. Juno is a super sweet, super loving dog. She was a pleasure to care for. Ollie is a chill, easy going , and affectionate kitty. Clara's place is very clean and comfortable. It's a one-bedroom, but we felt like we had plenty of room for the two of us (even while working remotely at the same time in separate rooms). The neighborhood is great—Ethiopian Diamond across the street is one of my all-time favorite restaurants! Juno was generally easy to walk, but she can pull, so make sure to brace yourself when she sees a bunny or bird and tries to run after it. We would totally come back and do it again! We still need to try out the pool table and pacman game in the apartment lobby area.
I had such a great time looking after Lolita and enjoyed staying at Sarah's place! Lolita is the cutest dog to look after! She loves to play and go for walkies but also cuddles with you :) She is easy to have on leash and listens very well. I'm definitely going to miss having her around! The apartment is located in a nice and quiet neighborhood and has everything you need. It's super easy to get around using public transportation, the subway station is just a 5 minute walk away. Sarah is easy-going and welcomed me the night before the sit started in her clean and tidy home. She had Lolita's schedule written down which was very helpful. I hope I'm going to have the chance to sit for Sarah again one day and would definitely recommend this sit!
This sit was amazing! Margaret was so welcoming and kind. We received all the necessary tips on how to take care of Tavi and the house. Her home is beautifull and had everything what we needed. It’s great localization to the downtown and groceries are also huge plus. Taavi is such a wonderful cat with amazing character and very easy to care for. He loved to spend time with us, cuddling and being petted. He's just great and we miss him! He is an incredibly sociable and adorable kitten. We would definitely petsit Taavi for Margaret again - it was a pleasure!
We had a wonderful week at Christina’s. She had a lovely welcome basket for us, showed us around, answered questions, and made us feel right at home. She was also very responsive to questions and updates during the week. The home is beautiful and so comfortable, with great views, an orchard, and plenty of hiking nearby. It’s in an idilic setting; we loved wandering the property, picking fresh fruit, and just hanging out, but there are also plenty of shops and restaurants not far away. The kittens were delightful, each with their own personality. They were so curious and loved company and cuddling. As Boots, the handsome adult cat, got to know us, he also enjoyed hanging out. Rocco the guinea pig had his own charm and loved cuddles and fresh veggies. The chickens were easy to care for, and it felt meditative watering the plants. We had a great week, and would definitely return if our calendars align, and we highly recommend this sit to others.
