Anik is a very kind person and full of stories. She is very self-sufficient and asked lots of good questions prior to her arrival. She communicated frequently while I was away. I was less than impressed by the state of my home when I returned after a month away, however. The kitchen was tidy and my bed had clean sheets, but the bathroom was a mess and my car had not been cleaned or filled up with fuel. The compost had not been emptied and really smelled, and the yard was overgrown with weeds. I don’t want to complain too much but the state of things was not nearly how I’d left them and I came home to days of yard and house work which left me feeling used. Some of the plants were alive, others not. My chickens were all alive but there were little common-sense things that just weren’t looked after. Although I am a single mother who works full-time, I manage to look after my home and my birds. Prior to Anik’s arrival (and again once she arrived), I talked her through all of the tasks around my home and she seemed to be clear on what was needed. I walked her through everything first on video before she accepted the sit, and again once she arrived. Having left detailed notes as well as names and numbers of multiple people who she could call on for help or replacement, I expected more from a single, self-described “professional house-sitter”. I have discussed these things with Anik and she was open to feedback, which I really appreciated. It is my impression that she would be best suited to a very private location with minimal daily chores so that she can carry on her personal schedule of traveling and visiting without having to spend much time care-taking.
Wes and Lisa are the consummate house and pet sitters. This was the second time they sat for us. The first time we only had one dog and they were excellent. This last time we had two - one, Myla Rose, is still a young Beagle puppy full of energy. Yet the quality of their care for our dogs was not diminished whatsoever. Their dog, Teddy was very much welcome as he was the last time and was very well behaved and a great companion to our Whippet and Beagle. Wes and Lisa are extremely neat, conscientious, personable, attentive to pets, and great at sending us pictures and texts every day to let us know how our pets were doing - we never had any concern about anything. When we came home, we could not even tell they had been there - everything was in perfect order as we had left it. Should you have an opportunity to have Wes and Lisa house/pet sit, DO NOT HESITATE. I cannot recommend them enough. I hope we can have them pet sit for us again.
Elisa was a wonderful house and pet sitter. She was very communicative, incredibly respectful of our space, left the house cleaner than it was when we left! She took care of our kitty with so much kindness. I would happily have her come sit for us again:-)
