I had a really lovely stay with Freddie in Kenmare. Mary-Christine provided a comprehensive Welcome Guide, and was available on WhatsApp if I had any questions. Freddie is a super sweet little guy, and just loves to be with you. He would be at my feet in his little bed in the sun room while I was working online, and doesn't make much noise. He will come to you and do a cute little twirl if he wants to go out. He loves his walk, but nothing super long as he is getting older. He gets a bit distressed in the car for about the first 10 minutes of the ride, but eventually calms down. The cottage is tucked in next to some pasture in a peaceful and relaxing setting. The cows are super cute; Freddie will bark at them. The best walk from the cottage is towards Lissyclearig, but it is on the road so you will need to be mindful. Probably my favorite walk was Reenagross Woodland Park, which I accessed through the Park Hotel driveway. There is a good free parking lot across the street from the Holy Cross Catholic Church. Freddie was about 50/50 with other dogs as far as getting along with them, so mind the lead if you pass other dogs. Kenmare is a cute little town and Killarney National Park is beautiful. Mary-Christine treated me to a lovely lunch on her return, and we had a bit of time to have a nice chat. Thank you Mary-Christine!
Amazing Your comfortable home. Their pets a love and they excellent people
Looking after Kwame for over two months was an absolute joy. We had never met an Abyssinian cat before; he is so soft, handsome and sleek. His sweet personality shines - loving, cuddly, smart. Kwame is our number one meow and we already miss him. Dave and Lorraine are delightful hosts, funny, and easy to communicate with. Their quiet, spotless home overlooks a lake with peaceful surroundings and lots of birds. This is one of the loveliest sits we’ve experienced; we will be back. Thank you Lorraine and Dave for having us, and kisses to Kwame.
Ohhh, I loved Ben so much! He’s the cutest and most beautiful cat. Also Jens house is lovely and it felt like home immediately :) Jen picked me up from the station (thanks again) and gave me loads of ideas for day trips and hiking routes. It’s been my first time in the Lake District and I loved to explore Kendal and Grasmere. The rainy days I spent home with Ben and we had lots of cuddles. He’s the sweetest! 🥰 Communication was very easy going and I had a hard time saying goodbye. Would come back any time 😊 Thanks again for everything Jen! ❤️
A lovely oasis of a home in a lively, convenient neighbourhood with a responsive, thoughtful, experienced host and two of the sweetest dogs you’d ever want to snuggle. Five stars all the way.
Dianne and Ian made us feel very welcome from the moment that they accepted us as sitters. Contact was good with lots of information before and upon arrival. KoKo also did his bit to make us feel right at home as soon as we got through the door. Dianne and Ian live in a beautiful house in a lovely area with lots to see and do. There are lots of cafes, restaurants and shops not too far away. We had a car but this sit would be possible ( I think) without a vehicle as shops are close by and there are buses a short walk away and plenty of taxis around. KoKo is a real star and such a character. We both fell in love with him and miss him now that we are back home. He is a really friendly, lovable dog and likes nothing better to be with you no matter where you are! He has lots of energy and loves playing ball games and gets very excited when he sets off for his walks and although he is excellent on his lead he does tend to pull a little when he first sets off and when he is following a scent! The beach is about 20 -30 minutes walk away and he adored his long walks in the sand - as did we! Missy appears at food times - she seems to know just when they are and is quite talkative although also quite wary and she will not let you stroke her although she is quite happy to wrap herself around your legs. To sum up this was a really enjoyable sit, Dianne and Ian are a lovely couple and we would happily return.
