E-J
My short stay in Hadfield was very relaxing. E-J, Paul and I had video called each other many months ago when a previous housesit had been planned but Covid got in the way.
E-J and Paul’s house is a modern detached home with everything I needed for my sit. The house is very clean with a lovely seating area outside. I was blessed with the weather and sat for many hours reading in the garden (after a day of walking) with Tali and Toby keeping me company. The quirky high street has small food shops and a number of takeaways. I have to say that I walked the high street on the Saturday afternoon, and it was so quiet that there were times I felt like was in an episode of League of Gentlemen, which was filmed in Hadfield!!
All three cats made themselves known within the first hour of me being in the house. Tali and Toby were at ease straight away and I could tell Yeti was nervous and I was very cautious when I stroked him to be calm and slow with my movements. Despite the back door being open when I was in the garden I didn’t see Yeti outside (unlike the sun worshipping Tali and Toby) Tali and Yeti joined me every evening on the sofa. All three cats had their own lovely personalities.
The joy of a housesit with cats is the opportunity to be out of the house for longer periods. I walked the Longdendale Trail, found the ‘over exposed’ crash site and headed to Upper Derwent Valley on my last day.
A highly recommended sit for anyone, but a big hit it you like walking 😊

ANGELA
I had a great experience sitting for Angela! Tunes is such a sweet and easy cat. She warmed up quickly and would often follow me to hang out in whatever room I was in. She is great at self-entertaining but will let you know when she wants some attention. A very very sweet cat! The house was great and I was grateful the AC worked so well with the heat wave. Angela is a great host and was very communicative, sharing everything I needed for the sit. I’d definitely recommend this to other sitters.

Molly
This was my first sit - I appreciated that Molly gave me a chance though I didn't have other reviews (though my Airbnb reviews give an idea).

I had a zoom with Molly where she gave an overview of the responsibilities. She also sent helpful videos about the house, cats and operating the vacuum cleaner. Her welcome guide is comprehensive and she has a book with instructions (and wonderful illustrations she did - she is an artist!). Her instructions made it very easy and I learned how to make my welcome guide better!

Bertie and Jewel are sweet fur babies with very unique personalities. I thoroughly enjoyed them! Bertie is very enthusiastic about his food and will start "singing" for his supper at least an hour before feeding time! I am an early riser, so this was not a problem for me. If you are someone who wants to sleep in, this may not be your ideal sit. (I loved my cat alarm clock!). He is very affectionate and he gave me some good cuddles.

Jewel is shy and needs her space, especially initially. I made sure to walk quietly around her at first and gave her a wide berth so she knew I was respecting her space. After a couple of days, she would want her head rubbed at night. She was very polite and didn't ask for attention unless I made a middle of the night trip to the loo. She has a sweet purr.

I loved the catio - this was mainly Jewel's domain, though Bertie went out a couple of times.

I was surprised by how quiet the house and neighborhood was! It was a very peaceful place to be. Everything needed is there. I loved the garden with the colorful flowers and there is a lovely porch to relax on.

Public transportation (Seattle has a good system) is available. You could do most things using it. I had my brother's car, which was helpful for an evening trip to Kirkland.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and highly recommend this sit. Molly is an excellent owner and makes it very easy. I would come back in a heartbeat!

Thank you Molly, for your hospitality and sharing your sweet kids with me!

Jacqueline
Good location and welcoming host. One of the cats went walkabout for 2 days which was somewhat stressful. The house, whilst comfortable was very untidy. Not dirty just Jacqui seems to prefer storing things on the floor rather than in cupboards. Very limited kitchen appliances as Jacqui is not a cook so it was a one saucepan house.

Pam
Wow! What a beautiful spot and Pam was very flexible as we faced a major winter storm warning. Luckily it largely bypassed Mt Shasta area. The kitties were so adorable and well behaved. They were very easy to care for. Loved my time there! ❤️
