There were moments when I felt as if I were on my own family’s farm during my stay in Beth’s small white farmhouse with acres of pasture out back. I was reminded of our generations of family history when I looked at her wall of photos. We have the same pictures of our parents cutting their wedding cake in the church social hall and the relative who went to war. Very special. Her home is comfortable and the tree-filled yard is a peaceful place to wander with CoCo. The town of Coffeyville, just down the hill, is a really cool place. It’s one of those old towns with beautiful unused buildings at its center but enough business for your day-to-day activities. Matthew at Terebinth Coffeehouse was great - he makes a perfect mocha latte and all the scones and sandwiches are delicious! I found the newest book from one of my favorite authors at the library, visited Grace and Westside churches and ate some frozen yogurt at Braums. I stood outside the banks where the Dalton gang rode into town for their failed attempt at bank robbery. I just felt like part of the community for a while. And Pawhuska, OK is only an hour away, if you know what I mean! And now to the main attraction - and in CoCo’s case that is a good description. She prances and dances until you are really laughing for her performance. Beth said the origin of the breed has European roots in the circus. She is a sweet and loving companion. We became friends as soon as we met. Our walks took us out back to the pasture where we watched the cows, to the park and around the lake where we chased some ducks, and to the path at the stunning city golf course across the street. CoCo spent time sitting close to me on the couch and on the porch, rolling over for belly rubs, sleeping tucked behind my knees, playing ‘tug the fleece blanket’ and sharing snacks - especially the mini milk bones I fed her one at time because she likes games! She has a special place in my heart! So Beth, Thank you for being so welcoming and kind to me. And for the lovely conversations at the beginning and end of my stay. It felt like we were cousins just sitting together on the front porch. I have a heart full of thanks to you for sharing your home and for a truly wonderful time pet-sitting your sweet girl!
Durham is a pretty and picturesque city and Gail's house is on a quiet estate minutes away from a bus stop that will take you to the heart of Durham. Gail's house was very nice with a lot of light and a garden with decking and a table meaning I could work on my laptop outside. Gail was friendly and welcoming and explained how to care for little Skadi so I knew how best to look after her. Looking after Skadi was a pleasure. She is such a lovable little cat with a lovely disposition. Gentle, sweet and affectionate, she loves being picked up and cuddled and having her tummy rubbed. As Gail had explained, Skadi is people oriented and likes to know whereabouts you are - she can cry when she can't see you. She was a little nervous of me at first, but she got used to me and after a few days was coming up to be stoked. I knew she'd accepted me when she leapt up to where I was sitting and nestled down right next to me, purring. Skadi is by far the loveliest cat I have ever sat for. Don't sit for Skadi unless you're willing to fall completely in love with her - she'll steal your heart, as she did mine 😊
Elena and Will are lovely and gave me all the info I needed to look after their high energy but delightful pup Rudy. He likes to challenge you but Bath is fab for long walks which we both enjoyed. Figaro the cat is a cuddly ball of fluff who was no work at all. Highly recommend coming to sit for Elena and Will and would love to come back if I can make the timings work!
Victoria couldn't have made me more welcome. I cannot imagine a single thing that could have made sit better. Tuppy is an adorable teddy-fur dog. I had a wonderful stay.
Fergus & Bethany were very welcoming and friendly upon arrival, had great communication with them. It was lovely to spend a couple of days at their place with the company of their three cats rocket, Lucy and Tom which were no trouble to look after. Easy access to the city with bus and train close by, Would definitely recommend.
I completed a one week house sit for Irene and her adorable cats Lily and Riley :) Irene and I arranged a pre-meet to go through all the details and I immediately felt at home with a very warm welcome. Irene is very kind and thoughtful and provides very clear instructions to make the sit run smoothly. Her home is beautiful, bright and very clean, has all mod cons and everything you need. Irene has great style and I loved the interior and exterior designs. The house is in a very quiet residential area, with Leamington Spa town centre and Warwick only a few minutes drive away. The location is perfect and very close to Stratford Upon Avon and of course the famous Cotswolds. A lovely part of the country. On this sit I only looked after Lily and Riley the cats. However, I did meet Pixie and Myla the dogs, who are gorgeous and very friendly ( I would happily look after them in the future). Lily and Riley are no trouble at all and I really enjoyed their company. They have different personalities , Lily chilled out , calm and likes a nice cuddle, and is never too far way :) Riley is playful, cheeky and so funny. Ventures out a bit more, but always turns up for a play :) I had a wonderful time, a great host, wonderful location and adorable cats. I highly recommend this sit and I would love to sit again given the opportunity :)
