Julia
We spent almost five wonderful weeks at Julia and David’s place in Apulia and the experience was altogether great! We can’t thank Julia and David enough: they were very welcoming and took us for a ride so that we could get familiar with the area (nearby shops, supermarkets, neighbours). We also had a couple of gorgeous dinners together.

Their house and big garden make for a little paradise on earth, and Danu, Lia, Quattro, and Blaise are four wonderful and lively companions (and great hunters!). Danu and Blaise warmed up to us quickly, and showed us how fond they are of cuddles. Lia and Quattro took a little bit more, but when they opened up to us we found out that they were very talkative and affectionate: we had wonderful conversations together!

Julia had prepared for us very detailed instructions and was always available in case of need, so the sit went very smoothly. The house is a typical apulian trullo with surrounding lamias, with thick walls and little windows in order to keep the inside cool. This summer was really hot and the house runs on big water tanks that need to be refilled periodically, so we learned how to save water when washing or cooking, and this is something we brought home with us. The garden is huge and amazing, and develops on several terraces gently declining towards the sea, and it’s a real joy to be surrounded by so many flower plants and trees. As the trullo is in the countryside, having a car is a must and allows you to visit the beautiful little towns in the area and the beaches which are 20 minutes away.

The best part of this sit was waking up every morning to find Danu, Lia, Quattro, and Blaise greeting us with their meows: we do miss them a lot and hope to spend more time with them in the future!

Nicole
There are many things we really appreciated about this sit. Nicole is an extremely gracious and appreciative host. She checked in frequently and did her best to make sure we were comfortable. She also left us lots of yummy snacks! The house is in a peaceful rural-like setting while also being close to shops and restaurants. The property backs up to a huge park with lots of mountain biking trails. All the pets are total sweethearts. Charlie is one of the friendliest cats we’ve ever sat for. We enjoyed many snuggle sessions with him. Ollie and Cider are lovely - energetic, well-behaved and people-oriented. For being larger dogs they were surprisingly easy to walk. We’ll miss them!

Sitter cancelled within 2 hours of me getting there as she had Covid. Didn't even offer to cover my expenses. I wouldn't have taken them but it would have been nice to have been offered, or even just sent a follow up text to see if I was ok.
