We were lucky enough to have Cherie and Terry house sit for us over a long weekend. They arrived the day before we left and we could tell at once that they were a very likable couple who were interested in the routines and needs of our menagerie. Our rescue dog was well looked after and her usual happy self on our return, as were our 2 cats. Everything in the chicken house was in order and egg production had increased. We had put piles of compost on the vegetable garden and in the polytunnel before they had arrived, with the intention of digging it in on our return. We were very pleasantly surprised to find that it had all been done when we came back. Through an error on my part they had had to leave to catch a flight a few hours before we returned but the house was perfectly clean and tidy, with even some homemade soup left for us. We were just sorry that having enjoyed their company so much we could not say goodbye properly and thank them for the wonderful way they had looked after everything.
