There are so many great things to say about Kiara! Bailey absolutely loves going to see her for dog sitting. She is well cared for and has opportunities to play with other dogs. I started bringing my 5 year old French Bulldog here a few months ago. I needed a new boarding place near me and found Playful Pack. I have been so pleased with this Playful Pack in Alexandria. My dog LOVES loves it. I have to lift him up and carry him out sometimes to leave, because he doesn't want to go home. He has done both boarding and daycare and both have been positive experiences. What spoke to me the most was how quickly the employees remembered his name and how quickly they were able to pick up on his personality. It is reassuring to see how excited he gets seeing the front desk people. Lastly, the report cards, pictures, and access to their live webcam is great and really enables my dog mom status. I have been very grateful to have found a place that treats my dog as their own, and that he's getting that doggie play time in each week.

We love Playful Pack Alexandria! Our pup was initially very shy towards other dogs, but once we started to take her once a week to Playful Pack she has come out of her shell. The concept of the 'pack' really helped her interact better with other dogs. We really like the new facility, the staff is really amazing and knows her by name. It feels great when picking her up and they know exactly what dog and share how she did during the day. It's nice to know that we can trust Playful Pack Alexandria to take care of our pup when we are at work or out of town with day care or boarding.

My Boston Terrier Walter has been coming here since the Alexandria location opened. He gets so incredibly excited when we pull up and park. He bounds in, happily greeting the staff and eagerly goes through the door when opened. He clearly loves the long-time staff members that he's gotten to know well. He mainly goes for daycare, but has also boarded and had positive experiences. It makes me feel so comfortable leaving him there being able to check in via webcam and through his end-of-day report cards. They do split the dogs into two groups - big pack and little pack. This is mostly by size as it sounds, though some of the larger, chiller dogs are also on the 'little' side. They also do a special daily activity during the week which jazzes up their experience. These include things like disco party, story time, pool pawty and more. My peace of mind and his sleepy self at the end of the day is well worth what I pay to send him there - and you can get slight discounts by buying packages instead of individual days. I've included a few of his report card pictures as well in this review. I would highly recommend the Alexandria Playful Pack location.

My sweet Millie has the best time at daycare whenever we drop her off at Playful Pack Alexandria. Her excitement is through the roof as soon as we walk in the building, and the staff is so sweet and attentive with her. I’ve had the worst experiences at other doggy daycare facilities in the area, so I was a little apprehensive when I first brought Millie in for an evaluation. The staff was so understanding and patient with me which really put me at ease. I also really like that I can use their cameras throughout the day to check on Millie. In my opinion, the best thing about Playful Pack is that the staff really engages and interacts with the dogs. For the most part, they also step in and issue corrections or disrupt negative behavior as they see it. My only recommendations (and it applies to all doggy daycare facilities) would be to have at least two people per room when you have a lot of dogs just to make sure they are being watched really closely. I would definitely recommend Playful Pack to others!

Playful Pack is awesome! We started taking our pup here last month and he’s had a blast every time that he’s been. The pricing is very reasonable and we love that there’s video cameras in the play rooms so that you can see what your dog is up to while you’re away. My only gripe is that the cameras are off before 9AM and after 5PM since I usually take my dog there at 6:30 in the morning and pick him up right before they close at 7:30 PM. With that said, I do know that he’s always in good hands and they do offer food and bath services for those who need them! This place is perfect if you have things to do and want your dog to be well taken care of while you do it. There’s nothing better than picking up my smiling boy and seeing him sleep soundly on the way home from a long and fruitful day of play. Will hopefully take our fuzzy friend here very often going forward.

We've been bringing both of our dogs to the Alexandria location since they opened and LOVE this location. We've tried a number of different daycares over the years, and have had overall positive experiences with each of them, but Playful Pack has been the best by far. 1. They have cameras and they show a great view of the play area 2. They have special activities every day 3. They have an outdoor area where the dogs can enjoy the activity or otherwise spend time in multiple areas 4. They have normal daycare hours on the weekends!! 5. They interact with the dogs more than I've seen at any other daycare (typically I've seen the person walking around, but little positive interaction with the dogs themselves - our dogs are usually too shy to play with the other dogs, so encouraging interactions with the attendant is always appreciated) 6. The play area itself looks very clean, and has a bunch of swings, steps, etc. for different dogs to interact with 7. They have the option for overnight boarding in the actual playroom versus in crates 8. Their prices are entirely fair and seem on par with the other daycares we've worked with 9. They post pictures and a report card after each visit (examples shown) This is the first daycare th9.at we've had where our dogs actually walk freely inside rather than pulling to leave with us when we drop them off. As far as I'm concerned that's all the positive reinforcement I needed.

My two fur babies love it at playful pack. The daily report cards and the ability to check in on the webcam make me feel like I am there with them and less guilty. The play activities are great and the photos are always a nice touch.

We were extremely apprehensive to take our dog to daycare, and each place we researched just left us unsettled. Then we found Playful Pack! We have been taking our pup here for few months and it has been the most wonderful experience. You can tell that each staff member ADORES the pups and treats them as their own. Not only do we love it, our pup does too! As soon as she is out of the car she is charging towards that door, crying with excitement at the staff that greets her. I love that we can check on her via the webcam throughout the day, and the fun daily activities they have for the dogs are adorable. They give a daily report card after pick-up to let you know how your pup did, all with photos of them enjoying their day. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!!!!

Really happy with Playful Pack ALX. My girl gets so excited when we pull in. The activities that they have each day are really cute and I love getting the report card and pictures. The camera is also nice to be able to check in and see how the dogs are doing. I’ve also done boarding a few times and the experience has been good.

My dog had a terrible experience here during his boarding this past summer! He came home with all of these marks around his neck that the staff was unable to explain. Then upon pickup, the employee upfront was flustered with multiple pickups at the same time and rushed through giving my dog a bath. He came out wet with his fur matted in several places and he’s a Labradoodle with straight hair so I never even have to brush him to keep his hair detangled, but you do have to make sure to wash all of the soap off so he doesn’t get matted. His fur wasn’t even that long at the time, but some fur had to be cut away. After consulting with the Vet about the marks, she believed that the facility possibly used a choke collar around my dog with prongs to have made those marks. I talked to the newer manager at the time, who assured me that they were going to be making a lot of changes to include the guy that can be heard yelling at the dogs while you’re in the waiting room. I believe that she made some strong changes and I saw one review saying someone abusive at the location was fired, but I never felt comfortable taking Harvey back. I was reminded to make this review this week, because someone accidentally sent me a report card for my dog, who has not been there since the summer and I requested for his file to be deleted. I think cameras overnight would help for other customers as well.

We love this service! They took excellent care of our guinea pigs while we were in Europe. Guinea pigs require lots of special care, including a diet with nutritional and vitamin needs, fresh vegetables, fresh water, unlimited hay for digestion, and daily/weekly cage cleanings. Passionately Pets did a stellar job at caring for our furry little friends. Their daily pet journal with photos and special notes on their visits with our pets was a fantastic way to see and read about how our fur potatoes were doing. Their prices were very reasonable, their care was top quality, and their customer service was the best. They also took care of a few other services such as bringing in mail and packages, bringing in the trash cans, and turning off/on lights in the house while we were gone to give the house a "lived-in" appearance while we were gone. On a special note, our pet caretaker was even concerned enough to run to the grocery store to pick up some fresh veggies for our pigs when he ran out. We loved Passionately Pets service and felt our pets were in competent hands. We have used Passionately Pets during two vacations and know that we can trust their services to care for our precious furry little buddies in the furure

Passionately Pets is amazing! We have a tiny puppy and they are the only ones we could find that were willing to come twice per day to let him out for potty breaks and a walk. Plus, they have the same person come most days, which is better for my puppy - rather than always having to meet someone new. They send updates after each walk and the pics are adorable. I trust them completely and would not use anyone else!

Passionately pets has been the best decision we have made since moving back to Arlington. They have been outstanding with meeting our needs and leaving us feeling reassured about getting out of town for a few days as we have a cat that has specific medical needs. I recently used Passionately Pets to care for my kitten while I was out of town, and I couldn't be happier with the experience! He was incredibly attentive and sweet, leaving daily notes that tracked my kitten's temperament and how they spent their time together. I had a GREAT experience with Passionately Pets! I left for a long weekend and was very nervous to leave my new rescue pup with a stranger, but Ashley (our dog sitter) was wonderful! She came and met my dog before I went away and sent detailed reports and pictures from every visit. My dog can be wary of strangers, but he absolutely adored Ashley. Our neighbors had a little party one night and she even thought to turn on soothing music for him to drown out the scary sounds so he could sleep peacefully. I am so glad to finally find a place I can trust to walk/watch my dogs! Can't recommend them enough!

Vanna just stayed with our dog, Marty for two nights with pop-ins during the day while we went out of town for a wedding. I was nervous because we've always had family watch our pets but we recently moved here from out of state so that's no longer an option. Passionately Pets was very responsive to my initial inquiry and set up a meet and greet before I booked the service. Vanna walked me through their different services, patiently answered all of my many questions, and went through the profile I set up for Marty. Vanna ended up also being Marty's sitter for the weekend and did a phenomenal job. She sent pictures and updates throughout the weekend and when we arrived home he was happy and had clearly been well cared for. Marty is still a young dog with puppy energy and is not used to being left for more than 6-7 hours at a time (and never overnight) so I booked the Deluxe Overnight package plus a midday visit each day. The pricing was as advertised on their website. I'm not sure how the cost compares to competitors, but considering that it accounts for 13+ hours/day of time, I thought it was totally worth it for the peace of mind and standard of care that Vanna delivered. 100% I would recommend and will be using Passionately Pets again.

Passionately pets are truly amazing. I’m not sure how they do it (probably great training) but we have had many different sitters from them over the years and each one is fantastic! We never have to worry that our cats are well cared for while we are out of town- they give lots of playtime and love in addition to feeding. The management team is also amazing- helping us find last minute sitters and even having options as we prepared to welcome our daughter. I cant say enough good things about Passionately Pets!

I went out of town for a few days and this was my first time booking through Passionately Pets based on a referral. From the consultation to the actual pet sitting service, everything was seamless. Great communication, friendly service, plenty of pictures, and my cat was taken great care of! Olivia did a great job. I will definitely book again when necessary.

We were hopeful when we discovered The Board Hound. But. Today we were told our 9 month old pup couldn’t come back for a month because he was too energetic and didn’t know how to take cues from other dogs to chill out. He had been out for three weeks for surgery—a cyst removal and neutering. We had to keep him calm during that entire time and so today he was super excited to return. They said he had “too much testosterone” still. But they’d never said that before his surgery, so how is it that after surgery he has too much? Further, the reason we took him to The Board Hound in the first place was so he could learn to play well with other dogs and we were led to believe they could help. Indeed, they said they were teaching him to “take a break.” He is NOT aggressive; he’s been quite good with much smaller, younger pups and older dogs, even a cat. I guess, however, they decided they’re not up to the task of dealing with a 52 pound, energetic puppy who hasn’t been able to play for awhile due to surgery. And this after we gave glowing reviews to other people. We’ll have to go back and amend our reviews now.

Both of my dogs have attending puppy party, have gone through training there and I truly couldn’t be happier. The training has really helped our relationship with our dogs. The staff is fantastic, and Mary goes above and beyond every single encounter and always ensures we walk away with more understanding of our dogs. One of the only locations I would board my dogs. This is the most fantastic place. My Akita pup loves it. She has no off switch when she is around other pups but their STEPS program worked with her and did just the thing to occupy her mind and body.

We set up a meeting to do a day care for the evaluation. We absolutely loved their honesty and recommendations. As soon as they had openings for doggy day care and our pups passed the vaccination requirements, we immediately booked in advance. The Board Hound is personal, knowledgeable, understanding and caring. They work with you and your schedule and communication is top notch. Arianna has been absolutely amazing in communication with our pups and all of the in-house trainers with STEPP have been phenomenal! Highly recommend!!

This is a great facility and I am continuously impressed with it. They have been accommodating of my two dogs with special needs. My one with anxiety is relaxed and happy with the staff. And I feel comfortable leaving my epileptic dog there as the staff keep her medicines safe and accessible, and really listened to all of my instructions on what to do in case of a seizure. It's also very clean and daycare booking has been really easy. My dogs are always excited to go and tired out when they come back, which is great.

The staff is amazing and truly cares about the dogs! Our dog always drags us in the building and runs on to the floor with the other dogs. Staff is always able to and willing to tell us about her day, who she played with, and what she likes to do during the day. They also make sure she gets the care and attention she needs. Once registered at Old Town you can also go to their other location for daycare and boarding, wich we have found very helpful! The Board Hound is the place to go for any daycare or boaridng needs.

Alexandria Pet Care has been so helpful for our dog. We scheduled 4 in home one-on-one sessions for our newly adopted puppy last year and it was so helpful for her. She was reactive towards other dogs and people but after just one session our dog made so much progress. Alex, the trainer, also taught us the best way to help with her anxiety and how to continue making progress with her after our 4 sessions were completed. Alex has also been helpful answering questions via email since our sessions have ended, and at no charge.

The APC Team's kindness and attention were truly exceptional. They provided extraordinary care to our fur babies, treating them as if they were their own. Their commitment to meeting us and collecting comprehensive information before starting services ensured seamless and thoughtful care. Additionally, the adorable photos they took of our pups in action were a delightful bonus. They are who we call to care for our precious pups.

Theresa, of Pets are Family Pet Sitting, and her staff member, Jennifer, provided exceptional service for our 1 year old cat. It was our first time being away from our feral kitty, since she was found abandoned and alone at 5 weeks. From the intake meeting to completion of service, our experience with Pets are Family was extremely professional. Theresa was very patient with my concerns. Her confidence and knowledge was evident. The daily reports and photos while we were away were enormously comforting, but what really proved the level of care provided, was when we returned. We were greeted by a calm, secure and very happy pet; and that says it all! Excellent company!

She provides a wonderful and personalized service and took care of trash, cat clean up, mail…. everything. It was so nice to know our cat and house were in good hands. I wholeheartedly recommend pets are family and Theresa! Theresa has been so fantastic with our elderly cat and our crazy flexible schedule. We have used her for over a year now, and she has always been super professional, kind, and extremely responsive. Pets Are Family is very well run as well. PAF sends daily reports with pictures and details, so that you never have to worry about how your pets are doing. They will even get packages from your porch, water your plants, or get your mail if you need them to. We recently had a family emergency, which had us leaving town with less than 24 hours notice. Theresa not only accommodated us, but when we had to change our plans from one week to two weeks and finally to three weeks out of town, she was so gracious with every change and easily accommodated us. We could not have dealt with our emergency without her! I cannot say enough great things about Theresa and Pets Are Family, we are so lucky to have found them!

We’ve typically relied on friends and family to help with our dogs when we travel, along with an unsatisfactory Rover house/dog sitter for a longer trip we took last year. We can’t say enough positive things about Theresa…she is great with our two Labrador retrievers are we are always at ease when we travel knowing they are with someone who genuinely loves animals (and someone who can handle two large, energetic dogs safely). We receive regular updates with photos, including a very sweet photo collage at the end of our trip. We appreciate that Theresa is a professional and operates her business as such. Scheduling, paying, and communications are all handled via an app which is very convenient and streamlined. Theresa is an all-around pleasure to deal with, and we know our dogs adore her too as evidenced by their tail wags and booty shakes when they see her.

My dog, Sandy, became ill the day I was leaving for an out of town trip. Theresa was very concerned about her wellbeing. When Sandy’s condition hadn’t improved by the next morning, Theresa drove her to the emergency vet. She checked in with me to see how Sandy was doing and even took her medication to the emergency vet the following day. I can’t thank Theresa enough for her assistance and caring during that challenging time. She truly cares about the pets she cares for and treats them like family just as the name of her company states.

A Thank You to Lauren and the Story of an Ex-Reactive Rescue Dog ✨ Oh, it was such a joy to finally take my favorite rescue dog, Nessa (an 8-year-old Belgian Malinois), home after a month of walks at the shelter. It was exciting because she was our first dog ever. But after just 5 days, we started noticing serious problems: endless barking (I'm not exaggerating when I say 500 times a day), reactivity towards dogs/people/cats/birds, protective behavior, pulling on the leash, restlessness at home, uncontrollable behavior, it felt dangerous... To be honest, after 10 days, we considered bringing her back to the shelter. We felt so incapable and thought someone else could handle it better. This was not at all the dog we had dreamed of. But then came the turning point. We desperately called Lauren, who guided us from A to Z. Thanks to her help, Nessa transformed in just a few weeks into a happy, relaxed dog. I never could have dreamed back then that we would have such a wonderful dog now. She can now walk off-leash, is no longer reactive, has found peace, is super obedient, is starting to trust people, and our bond is stronger than ever. We (and our pets) love Off Collar! Lauren, Katherine, and Alyzah are so sweet with our babies. It is hard to find someone to trust with a Great Dane. They are big animals but also very sensitive and require a gentle but firm touch. Our boy is always so excited to get walked by any of them, and we’re glad to have people we can rely on to give him some company midday. Katherine also takes care of our two kittens when we are away for vacation. They are very shy, but last month, they finally came out to say hi to her, so they must have decided in the end they like her after all :) Off Collar is also very understanding of emergencies and flexible, which is hugely helpful because we have variable schedules each month.

I love Off Collar! Lauren has been amazing in coordinating and supporting my senior pup! Alyzah, my pup’s wonderful walker, is so good with him and keeps me informed if she notices anything out of the ordinary. We’ve had a few 1-1 sessions with Lauren to help with our reactive dog, Chloe, as well as monthly pack walks. She has been nothing short of phenomenal and has helped us so much! Chloe absolutely adores Katherine who does a great job of making sure our pup is cared for when we are out of town. I cannot say enough about how awesome Lauren is! She helped me and my dog work through some behavioral issues recently. I was at my wits end with him and had read/watched everything I could find and nothing seemed to be making a difference. After working with Lauren she was able to help identify specific issues, signs to watch for, helped me understand exactly what my dog is trying to tell me and how I am communicating with him. She is so much fun to work with and extremely friendly and knowledgeable. My boy absolutely loves her! She has a wonderful balance of fun and lightheartedness (which removed the stress and frustration we were experiencing) and deliberate corrections and commands. It was awesome to see how well my boy responded to her! I have already recommended her to my friends who were looking for a private trainer and will continue to do so! Top Dogg is great! My dog Chloe warmed up to Jonis faster than any other human ever. Since then he’s expanded his team, and they are always reliable, professional, and kind. Sometimes we help watch a friend’s dog, too, and Top Dogg is super flexible about adding an extra dog to the schedule.

Kate and her crew are absolutely wonderful. Very reliable and accommodating; they do their research and are more than willing to give individualized special care for each pet. Travis was excellent taking care of my minipig while I was away, following instructions down to a tee and making sure she got everything she needed. I didn't have to worry one bit. The report cards are great so you know how your pet is doing during each visit.
