It was our absolute pleasure to look after Louise and Don’s beautiful home, the very well behaved and highly intelligent Margaux and Fleur the furry feline.

Margaux is exceptionally well behaved and an absolute pleasure to walk, she even shows you the way if you forget the route home (or indeed if she decides she wants to detour for a swim in the river!). On occasions she even brings along her friend for some doggie company, an equally well behaved neighbours collie.

Fleur, on the other hand keeps herself to herself, putting in an appearance every now and then, deciding to come down from the summer house rafters or crawl out from under the hedges. She is very friendly and cute.

Louise and Dom’s home is a delightful characteristic old mill with a beautiful swimming pool and summer house - ideal to relax in after a walk around the vineyards or for a cheeky apero! The surrounding gardens are equally beautiful.

All our communication with Louise and Don, both prior to and during our sit was easy and, upon their return, we left as friends feeling we had known them for quite some time.

Thank you both once again for such a wonderful opportunity and we look forward to hopefully being able to fulfil the majority of your future sitting requirements.

If you are looking for a kind, generous host, a cosy and welcoming home and one endearing dog, come to Stratford to meet Caroline and her lovable Mack! Their comfortable, historic house is nestled in a safe, friendly neighbourhood and is close to everything you may ever need. A variety of great restaurants, stores and grocery shops are minutes away. You can stroll beside the river past the Shakespearean Gardens to the vibrant downtown Stratford scene. We loved it!

Communications were excellent from the very start. Caroline was always available and helpful. We really enjoyed getting to know her.

And Mack was such a treat! He was easy to care for following Caroline’s excellent notes. He is very gentle and loves people. We took him with us on our adventures and he made friends everywhere! He truly loves his walks but is happiest when he is near you. When you return from an errand he brings you a toy and all his affection. Heartmelting.

We miss you, Mack! Thank you for this lovely opportunity, Caroline. Take care until we meet again.

We had the best time sitting Blu in the wonderful town of East Linton! It was our first experience with Trusted House Sitters as well as taking care of a dog, but Blu turned out to be the perfect introduction to dogs. Blu is an incredibly sweet, well behaved dog. We immediately grew fond of her and can’t wait to see her again. The house is a beautiful and spacious cottage with a very nice and green garden to sit in, with lots of visits from different bird species.

East Linton itself is a nice town with friendly people, a few pubs and all the small shops you need. There are some beautiful walks nearby, which Blu will automatically lead you towards. If you travel a bit further by car or by public transport (which Blu is happy to ride on), you can visit marvellous beaches. Blu loved to play in the water, and as she is a young dog and an energetic breed, you can take her on long and rather adventurous walks. We also recommend a visit to the Isle of May (but you can’t take Blu), a stunning place where you can see lots of wildlife (if the puffins are gone, you can see seals).

Lisa, Neil and Eddy are very friendly and easy going people. They picked us up from the train station, gave us a warm welcome, and treated us to a lovely homemade dinner the night before they left. They gave us some tips of things to do and see in East Lothian, were always very helpful and easy to communicate with. We stayed in touch throughout the entire holiday, and sent each other pictures from our time in East Linton/Italy. We felt very much at ease at their place, in East Linton and with Blu, and we had one of the best holidays ever. We really intend to come back soon, to explore more of beautiful East Lothian, to see the puffins on the Isle of May but of course to play ball with Blu, her all time favourite activity. We miss her so much!
