Andrea & Tim
Thank you so much for choosing us to take care of your pets and home. We absolutely loved everything about it. We both feel we’ve left a little piece of our hearts there.

For anybody reading this thinking about sitting for Andrea and Tim - do it! This is a little corner of heaven in Belgium. T&A are incredibly kind and welcoming. You will feel like friends from the moment you meet. The farm is wonderful and peaceful, and the neighbours were also very kind and helpful.

The animals are lovely and well trained. Even if Dana (the bigger horse) seems a bit strong, she’s just young and she really does respond well to a pat and a neck scratch. Deisi is sweet in every cell of her body.
The chickens are very friendly and our children loved them (the neighbour also has chickens and she had some chicks while we were there which the boys loved!).
There is a gorgeous old dog (whose name I can never remember!) who roams the farm freely. She is SO friendly and loving and just wanted cuddles any time she saw us.
Lastly. The Man of the House. Chips ❤️ He has an impressive ability to let you know exactly what he wants, and when he wants it. If you’re cooking, expect him to appear and watch you from the shelf to see if there is anything suitable for him. He enjoyed an evening cuddle with us once the children were asleep, and also following us when we walked outside, but otherwise he was very self sufficient and happy doing his own thing.

There is a dairy in the next village for fresh milk, yoghurt (flavoured or plain), cheese (soft and firm). It’s especially good for practising Frenglish as the owner and I both spoke a little of both languages ;)
There is also a farm in another village to source high welfare organic chickens and eggs, fresh juice and preserves.
Lidl in Fleures is also a good option for food items and beer.

There is a train station at Gembloux (20 min away) which has direct trains to Brussels (50min ish) and all there is to explore there. Some places in the city have an offer with SNCB (the rail company) to buy a ticket via the SNCB website for a discount with a rail ticket. Brussels has a car emission zone so definitely check if your car needs to pay the large fee to drive in (the train was easier for us, and quite cheap).
We highly recommend the Abbey De Villers. There was a little car boot opposite the car park on Saturday when we went which was also interesting.
We took a day trip to Ghent which is about 2hrs away and worth every second. Highly highly recommend taking a boat trip to see the city and learn more about it.

Mostly we would recommend you do a little exploring, and a lot of relaxing and letting the tranquility and kindness that surrounds you, fill your soul.

Susan
Bagel is the sweetest! A little celebrity in the neighborhood! I had such a good time looking after Bagel - he has a lot of personality in his little frame. He loves walking around and following the scents he picks up.

Susan is a great communicator, her home is lovely and in a wonderful neighborhood in Portland. A real treat to look after her home and her wonderful dog!

Incredible how lovely cats in a trio can be. At the same time with a unique character. It was a pleasure to take care of all three cats, get to know their behaviour and how to treat them best.

I am thankful that I had also great answers of questions about the cats of Nhaiara's husband.

The apparent itself is local, close to the city center and gives a great opportunity to go for a walk and enjoy the day....inside or outside of the apparent.

Thanks for having me there.

Housesitting for Coy & Charlie has been just wonderful! I wish I could’ve stayed forever on this lovely little ranch in Montana. The location is simply magical and I’ve never met a more loving and charming bunch of animals! It was heartwarming to see how they all cared for each other - the cheeky goats, the lovely cats, sweet JoJo and playful Jake! All of them have grown very close to my heart in this short amount of time.

It was such a joy to stay here and I do hope I’ll be able to come back! Coy and Charlie are truly inspiring people and their place already feels like a home away from home (:

It was so hard to say goodbye to sweet little Emmy!

Emmy is an adorable little goofball who was such a joy to care for. She is a little shy at first but she’ll warm up to you when you play with her and spend some time with her, and she will be most pleased if you help her snuggle under a blanket. She’s an absolute angel who can do no wrong, and will be very excited to go on a walk with you!

Lyndie and Craig’s home was also a really lovely place for us to stay, and such a great location too. Everything was clean, communication was easy and we were very comfortable - especially when working from home, as Emmy helped pass the time! We were given a very helpful guide that told us everything we needed to know.

Thanks so much for the lovely stay - we hope to be back again!
