Becca is a truly wonderful sitter - and a lovely person all round. We tend to usually choose couples to sit for us as our dog, Morris, is very active and potentially rather time-consuming for one person on their own, but Becca was not only very keen to sit, but an even keener (and fitter!) walker than even Morris could have hoped for! Our priority is always the wellbeing of our animals, and they all loved her - Morris had the hiking holiday of his dreams, Grace the pony was fed and checked regularly (even groomed a few times) and Becca was with her when the farrier came to trim her feet. We were sent many photos of Morris and Elsa (our cat) snuggling happily with Becca in the evenings, and it was only when we got home that we discovered that this was despite Becca having developed a serious allergy to Elsa's long silky fur. Becca's fortitude in continuing not only to cuddle but also to brush our, rather unfortunately, attention-loving cat was nothing short of heroic in the circumstances..! Becca also looked after our house and garden beautifully - deadheading our roses and looking after our houseplants, and ensuring that everything was clean and tidy when we returned. She kept our sourdough starter and kefir alive and well - and even made her own bread and kefir, which was fabulous to see. She also checked whether we wanted any supplies bought in ahead of us coming home, and coped cheerfully with our boiler cutting out. Becca asked us whether we wanted updates while we were away, and whilst we didn't want to impinge on her time, they evolved into an ongoing chat on the WhatsApp group we'd set up before she came, sharing what we were all doing and, obviously, amusing pictures of the animals! Becca's communication was great all-round - we'd chatted with her before the sit, and she was brilliant at checking in with us about anything she wasn't sure about - both before and during the sit. We thoroughly enjoyed having dinner with her before we left, and she very kindly made dinner for us all when we returned, before leaving the next morning for her long drive home. We like to think that sits should be a 'win-win' for all concerned, and we feel very lucky to have met Becca and have had her sit for us. In fact, she was due to sit again in September, and I think we are all as disappointed as each other that her allergy clearly prevents that. We are, however, very much looking forward to seeing her again when she is in Snowdonia later this year, and Morris is looking forward to being taken off for another great day out in the hills!
We LOVE Pam! She came to sit for us again and everything was perfect. Our dog Tilly was beautifully looked after as was our house. No hesitation in recommending her at all. Only wish she was available for the July school hols!
