Daisy

Daisy is a dream sitter. Her communication before the sit was great. She popped round a few days before to meet us, and the cats. We had mo worries atball whilst we were away about the cats. She sent updates a few times and some pics. House was lovely and tidy when we got back. We really hope to have Daisy back to sit for us in the future.

Karen and Phil

Karen and Phil are very relaxed and calm; perfect companions for our lively dogs. Olav and Narla were very well looked after and obviously happy and settled upon our return. Karen sent regular update texts and photos of the dogs so we didn’t worry about them at all. Karen and Phil left our house exactly as we left if (probably cleaner) and put the bedding and towels in the washing machine. We’re so pleased they enjoyed their stay in the Calder Valley and would happily have them back anytime.

Rafael & Sara

Rafael and Sara have been just wonderful. They stayed in our house for almost two months, caring for our two large dogs, a tank full of fish, and a large garden with plants requiring special needs (daily watering with purified water for carnivorous plants, spray for air plants, submersion for ferns, etc). Plus, since we rent out our guesthouse for the summer, they did the extra step to take care for all the little (and not so little) needs the guests had, such as fixing the wifi, doing some laundry, fixing some furniture, etc. Having them home and realizing they are so reliable, self sufficient and kind, gave us an incredible peace of mind during our long stay away from home and the pets. One of our dog is shy, but they both bonded with Rafael and Sara and at our return we found two happy (and well fed!) dogs. Plants and the fish tank were thriving as well. The house and garden were perfectly clean and tidy, their condition was much better than when we left. To make it short, they are perfect sitters, and we wouldn't hesitate a second to have them back.

Adam

Adam came to sit Treacle at fairly short-notice and he did a really great job. Treacle isn’t the easiest of cats to read, but he is clearly experienced looking after animals, and wasn’t phased by this. His communication was great and I came back to a really clean and tidy home too. Thanks so much Adam - you’re welcome to come back any time!

Isabel & Jonathan

Isabel and Jonny her husband with Wilfred their 3 year old son embraced the challenge of looking after Pollards Mill. They have been excellent housesitters and reported back to me frequently with how things were going at the property. I was sent photographs of the grounds regularly so that I was reassured the gardeners were doing a good job. They. let me know of any issues regarding machinery and equipment, which they took the initiative to sort out as I was not u=on island to do so. Anyone having this little family to look after their property would have a first class experience. Thank you so much Izzy, Jonny and Wilfred and good luck for the future.

Annie and Martin took very good care of our dog and home in June 2024. They were flexible when I messed up the dates and patient and understanding when we got distracted and missed their interview. I’m sure they thought we were the most disorganized people ever but took a chance on us, agreed to sit, and did not disappoint. We got big hugs on their arrival and departure and we thoroughly enjoyed meeting them. We would happily have them sit for us again.

First off, Carys is absolutely LOVELY and so it's difficult (and uncomfortable) to write a negative review, but for us, this house sit was disappointing. We had originally advertised for a cat sitter, but our circumstances changed prior to the sit (no cat now), and instead we needed someone to be there just to water the plants. We have two well stocked courtyards of plants back and front of the house. Carys was happy to do this. The brief was to water and deadhead the plants DAILY. We returned to find the plants in the front courtyard absolutely parched. Soil completely dried out in most pots, plants limp and most of the flowers in our two window boxes dead. Nothing had been deadheaded. The front courtyard certainly hadn't been watered in a while. (The back courtyard at least had been watered, which was good). Whilst Carys had left the house relatively tidy, it hadn't been cleaned (ie: cleaning products used to wipe down the kitchen surfaces, cooker, bathroom, wash the floor, polish furniture etc). After being in the house for 3 weeks we would expect the house sitter to do a thorough clean throughout the house for our return. Not leave us to have to start doing it when we arrive back. It was disappointing. Carys is lovely and had been kind enough to leave us a note, flowers and a bottle of wine, but I feel she needs a better understanding of what taking care of a home fully entails. I'm sure this will be a learning curve for her, and our comments will be taken forward for future sits. Carys we really wish you well.

I loved sitting for Mihnea and Diego! They were so great to work with, very clear communication and instructions and extremely accommodating. I fell in love with Kodi and George, Kodi has such a sweet spirit and such a big cuddly bear and George was always such sweet company, I was so sad to leave <3 the house was gorgeous, clean and such a comfortable bed to sleep on, plus they have access to gym and pool which was a nice surprise. If you’re looking for a beautiful and peaceful getaway, this is the perfect place for you. Me and my partner had to write a bunch of songs for various projects on this stay and this cabin’s energy was so inspirational and relaxing that we completed all of our deadlines with ease. They say your pets are just like their owners and that is definitely the case here with Chris & Sally. They are both absolutely beautiful humans and their 2 pups, Hugo & Finn, and kitties, Max and Holly, are just like them. Thank you both for having us in your home. Blessed to have met you all!

Great meeting Kash - he thinks he's little dog... made me laugh. He likes to nest under a blanket and the way he get's himself there is so funny to watch. He is just a big love and wants to be right next to you on the couch. We had many great walks, he's a good walker- doesn't pull etc - even when he saw the squirrels he didn't pay much attention. You do need to take your territory on the bed before he does! ;>)  Rebecca had all the details needed and was well organized; she always responded as well.     I did get a little turned around inside the building, but there are exits everywhere so eventually you end up outside! Great easy location for exploring the neighborhood on foot.  I'd sit with Kash again... he's big dog sweet.

Nima

We had a lovely time getting to know Memo and Maximo. They are very independent cats but also enjoyed our company either in the house or in the lovely garden. And what a lovely street to live on! 
Nima’s beautiful old house had everything we needed and was perfectly located in central Bangkok. Coffee, street food, shops and restaurants were all very close and just a short walk to the BTS. 
We didn’t meet Nima but she was kind, friendly and responsive when we needed to contact her and we knew exactly what was expected of us during our sit.
