My daughter and I were warmly greeted by Liz and Michael. We arrived the evening prior to the sit start-date and enjoyed a delicious home cooked meal. Louis was a charmer, with an inspiring zest for life demonstrated by a constant tail-wag or windmill. The only time Louis’ tail stilled, was eating and sleeping! Louis does not do:- drop or fetch and is not great on the lead, preferring freedom along the River Thames with a stick or ball. Our stay gave us warm weather and opportunity to paddle - Louis enjoyed his twice daily plunge. Louis does however, show an interest to sit, lay, over, wait, paw in return for a tasty treat! He is good with other dogs and children. He also loves cuddles and sweet little kisses. Louis will take as much exercise as you give him, plus garden games. Louis prefers full throttle all day and once in bed is asleep in minutes. We were privileged to have Louis as a bed guest, making my daughter super happy. Easy location for the tube, restaurants, food shopping etc. Limited bus service. A very enjoyable sit, one which found Louis a place in our hearts.
Towyn was an incredibly gracious host. He left us very clear instructions and was a great communicator throughout - he made us feel very welcome and comfortable from day one. His home is charming, full of character and has a spectacular garden. Tilly is an incredibly affectionate and sweet cat - we loved seeing her strolling around the garden or perched up on the vine outside. She loves a cuddle and made for great company while we were in the kitchen or the backyard (and occasionally upstairs). We miss her already! Highgate is a great area within London with lots of history and plenty of things to see, and there are some lovely parks near the house. We were within easy walking distance to shops and public transport links. We loved our time with Tilly and would stay again in a heartbeat!
Beautiful human easy to communicate with Beautiful cats and home, would be happy to sit anytime.😊
Chester is a kind, comical and well behaved pooch who will never be far from your side. Because of his history of abuse before being rescued, I avoided people and pets on our adventures. When you put Chester in the car and drive in any direction , he will indicate with excited barks and tail wags where his favourite trails are. No GPS or maps required! Chester’s neighbourhood is also a lovely area to take him for wee walks. Because of his hip issues, I didn’t take him for long walks and he was content to stay home while I left him for visiting the markets. Jane’s home, about an hours drive from Halifax, has a lovely front and back deck for quiet reading and bird watching, close to vineyards, farmers markets, restaurants & cafes, hiking, and viewing the Bay of Fundy. Chester’s feeding routine and house information were concise and clear and neighbours on either side were friendly and helpful.
Christine & Chewy were our first interstate sit and it couldn’t have gone better. Mount Gilead Estate is really peaceful, Christine is super friendly and clear with instructions/communication and then there’s Chewy, who’s just the sweetest Ewok-y pup you can imagine: friendly, easy to care for and a delight to have around or on your lap. We felt attached to him immediately. So hope we get an opportunity to help out again in the future.
