Amazing sit — in a castle by the sea!! I love this family, their animals, their home, and the town. Lilly and Enzo are so sweet and affectionate, and they will follow you around everywhere. I absolutely fell in love. Lilly is a puppy and will get into stuff, so don’t keep anything where she can reach it! She loves to bark, but she’s small and easy to restrain. Once you get to know her, she is the most darling, cuddly thing, and she loves to be held. One of my favorite dogs ever. I miss her already. Enzo the old guy is very chill and sleeps a lot — very low maintenance! Harry the cat is wonderfully affectionate but also quite independent. Treecko the gecko is super easy. Don’t be afraid if you don’t see him for long periods. He’s just hiding out. The town is adorable and there are a couple beachfront restaurants just a minute away. Margate is easy to get to via a frequent bus. And did I mention they live in a castle?? Another big bonus — great CD collection of house, soul, and disco. I’m so happy I got to stay here and hope I get to come back! It was a joy.
Sydney and Matt were wonderful hosts and left me with everything I needed to have a great sit experience - a tidy home in a beautiful location, with clear instructions for the pups. Lanie and Tucker are sweet and well behaved. Absolutely recommend and I hope to visit again!
We had the best time in Split with Hopps! She is a very smart and well trained dog and we loved having her company for a week. She loved going on her walks and was friendly with everyone we met. Kristine and Brandon’s place was very nice and was super comfortable for a weeks stay! Kristine and Brandon were also super friendly and welcoming and happy for us to drop our bags off early on the day of arrival. Thanks Kristine and Brandon - we had the best time with Hopps! We miss her already and would come back anytime!
We sat for Irenee’s dog Barney for almost a week and found him very easy to care for with a sweet nature. As I was packing the last day I found him lying on my open suitcase on the floor - I guess he didn’t want us to leave! I watered the flower gardens twice every day which took about fifteen minutes each time. Irenee’s house is very comfortable. The huge kitchen has everything one could want and the outdoor area is very peaceful. We were given the AirBnB ensuite room just off the first floor which gave us some privacy and space while the family was there. Irenee, Donal, and the two young boys were very welcoming and Irenee bent over backwards to try to meet my dietary restrictions for the dinner she prepared just before they left on their trip. Things were a bit hectic and there was confusion about dates but it all worked out. We enjoyed our time in Cambridge and found we could walk anywhere we wanted to go. Grocery stores were nearby so we never used the bus and there was no need of a car. We recommend this sit for Barney and hope his pancreatitis flares do not become a problem. He was fine while we were there and we just went with his level of interest in eating as Irenee recommended.
Housing sitting for Jasmin in her stunning cottage was extremely easy. Communication was fantastic, I felt welcomed and at ease. Reggie is such a character and while at first will keep his distance, he loved head rubs and he curled up on the bed at night. It was also lovely to spend time with Silk who they were fostering. Her character really started to blossom. Thank you for being brilliant host for my first house sit. I would highly recommend and would love to come back at some point!
