We had our 2 medium size dogs stay here for 7 nights because our regular border were full. Upon dropping our boys off and their pick up, it was a breeze. The staff was super friendly. However I was little troubled on the amount of food returned. Our boys don't eat much and I had an extra 7 days of food in their food container for emergencies if anything happened like flight delays etc. When we picked them up it was literally empty. Which means they staff fed other dogs our dogs food. The day we dropped them off they were done with dinner with little left in their feeding bowl, so it would have come out to 6 feeding days instead. Our regular boarder always returns with alot of emergency food left, unfortunately I've lost trust here rather they thought it was okay, it is not, that is stealing.
Friendly staff and nice facilities. Unfortunately my dog was injured during her first night there. Nothing was mentioned about this until I discovered her injury upon pickup on day 4. We attempted to go next door to their vet center immediately and they wouldn't provide urgent care. Not sure yet if I'll be returning as this should've been handled differently.
My husband and I have a very independent 13 year old heeler that hates baths and hates having her feet touched. She never really needed her nails trimmed due to being active; however, with age, they were getting long impacting her mobility. We bought clippers thinking we would try cutting them ourselves but were worried about hurting her and worried about her tolerating us trying. We decided to schedule an appointment with Makawao Veterinary Clinic, Boarding, Grooming, & Health Center to have them trimmed. We warned them about her hating having her feet touched and would understand if they were unsuccessful. The day we took her in, we were very anxious. Surprisingly, she was very calm and walked into the grooming room with the technicians like they were her best friends. We watched through the glass door in shock at how well she was behaving. One technician was petting her forehead while the other was trimming her nails. She was a perfect 'client'! They really are the dog whisperers. We may even consider taking her back for a bath. Our experience was surprisingly wonderful!
Andy is Awesome...She is so beyond patient with our girls, talks to them, spends as much time as they need to be calm..Especially Bea who gives Andy a run for her money. Very impressed! Highly Recommended!!!
Unfortunately I didn't think to take any pictures while I was there, BUT I can paint a decent picture with words right? I hope so 😩. So, we actually went to the grooming center which is across from the clinic. There is a nice fenced in area with a locking gate that overlooks a beautiful property full of blind horses. I am sure they were blind for a good reason though, don't worry 🤣. Just beautiful! Although this was our first time at the grooming center they treated us like they knew us personally. The groomer (I apologize for not remembering your name) was very friendly and my dog loved her. She was patient with all of our questions and even got my doubtful dog to come with her and clean her ears! 😲 She must have magic hands because my dog acts like her ears are the treasure at the end of the rainbow. I don't know how she did it 🤔. The front desk staff was very nice and professional as well. We really appreciate professionalism because it can be so hard to find these days. 😖 My dog is medium sized and she came out feeling so soft and luxurious. I highly recommend them if you want a great service and people looking after your fur baby that care as much as you do. 🙌 I had a short encounter with the front desk at the vet clinic as well. All staff were super helpful, informative and friendly.I don't see how you could go wrong here. 💖
Customer service at the kennel has been lacking since the new management. The first time we took him there, he got sick and the vet charged me $900 to tell me he had an upset stomach, then last time we took our dog there it seemed he was mistreated. Not recommended!
My dog wouldn’t let anyone cut her nails. Until we found Andy at makawao grooming. She was so patient and so comforting to my dog. And she did her nails perfect. Each time we go she heals my dogs anxiety a little more about getting her nails cut. I am so grateful to these girls!!
Great with our dogs. Never have a problem taking them there for a little TLC. Professional and treats our dogs like their own
Wonderful groomers & owner! Andi, Daja, Danielle, Mika. All wonderful with my little terrier
Friendly staff. I trust them with my dogs twice a year when we go on short trips.
Wayne and Sue love dogs/animals! Our dog has gone to them since he was a puppy and enjoys being there. He can't wait to get out of the car when we get there. It's clean and our dog, although large, sleeps in the house and they accommodate him to be in side at night. They are very thorough of being sure ticks, fleas and other diseases aren't on the animals. Your dog needs to go for an interview and temperment session before they'll think about allowing them to board. We are so glad we have our dog there!!
Love the owners! They love all the dogs! They treat them all like family!
They both take really good care of our baby Delilah!
Land of OZ - Maui is awesome, fun and a place where all the dogs are well taken care of.
Good dog obedience training
