Madeleine and Howard were fabulous hosts and we thoroughly enjoyed their company on the nights beginning and ending our house/pet sit. Gus (spaniel) was such a character, so playful and full of life. He absolutely loved his walks through the fields and woodlands, as did we. Fergie (ginger cat) was independent and easy going whilst also affectionate and fond of a good tummy rub. Madeleine and Howard live in the most beautiful Georgian house with an idyllic English country garden, but more importantly, it felt like a home where you sensed much love and warmth, and where many memories had been created over the past 40 years. We feel privileged that we were given the opportunity to experience this wonderful house and pet sit and would highly recommend it to others.
Adam and Isabel are super warm and communicative and made sure I had clear instructions and felt like home. Their apartment is beautifully decorated, clean, and close to a lot of Harlem's historical attractions. Chapulin is a really sweet cat and we became fast friends, cuddling at nighttime and playing during the day. I really loved spending time with him and would definitely watch him again!
We absolutely loved staying with Rosie! She's sweet, clever, and excellent company. Susannah and Muhammad were extremely attentive the whole time (via messages) and made us feel very comfortable.
Overall I had a positive experience sitting for Jen’s house and her furry companions Lloyd and Cricket. Jen was a great host and left very thorough instructions and excellent communication the whole way through. Lloyd is a sweet old pup who is easy to walk around the neighborhood, and Cricket the kitty is the best snuggler on chilly evenings— they’re quite easy to take care of and good company. The only drawbacks were that the neighborhood itself didn’t always feel 100% safe, and the house is on the older side. You’ll need a car to get anywhere in Austin as there are several major highways within a few blocks of the house— but if you have that covered then it can be a good home base to explore the city.
