We returned home to a beautifully clean house and two very well looked after and happy cats - which is no mean feat given one of them is extremely nervous with strangers, although you'd swear that wasn't the case after these 'cat whisperers' met her! Chris and Deborah are a really lovely couple who we immediately knew were right to sit for us after a FaceTime call. They are fantastic communicators, especially obliging us with daily photo's and updates of the cats. We had one hiccup with keys being left inside the house, but Chris and Deborah were right onto it and incredibly patient while we got it sorted. We are grateful to them for looking after our home and cats and highly recommend them as sitters.
Maud is the dog that got me started with Housesitting!!! I’d been an occasional lurker on THS, unsure whether to join, then one day in late June I saw a picture of Maud and decided straight away that I wanted to apply. I quickly put together my profile, had a lovely zoom call with Kath, and happily I booked the sit. 2 months (and 6 other sits) later, the weekend with Maud finally arrived. I wasn’t disappointed. She’s a great dog, sweet, funny, gentle, loving and sometimes cheeky. She’ll make you laugh out loud and will melt your heart with her snuggles. She plays beautifully with other dogs her own size, and adores playing fetch whether it’s out in the park with the ball, or any of her squeaky toys at home. She’s tidy – takes her toy back to the toy basket before selecting another one to play with! She knows her way to all her favourite parks – makes a good Islington tour guide! and is used to socialising at cafes and pubs. Kath is the perfect host – lovely, friendly, relaxed, thoughtful and communicative. She prepared everything beautifully for my arrival and made sure I knew everything I needed to take care of Maud. The apartment is great! Clean lined, modern, tasteful, comfortable and beautifully kept. It’s in a fab area with lovely café’s, pubs, parks, canal network and architecture. I was so happy exploring it all with Maud! I’ve enjoyed all my sits so far but if I had to choose a favourite this is it. The perfect combination of a wonderful dog, lovely host, great accommodation and a fabulous area. Very highly recommended and I’d love to return.
