What a wonderful sit! Janine is a thorough, thoughtful and gracious host. She has taken the time to create a home guide explaining how everything works in their home and most especially how to look after Maverick and Piper. It comes complete with photos and diagrams and funny little notes. As a pilot, I work well with instruction and this is as manual-like as it gets! Much appreciated. Additionally, she sent videos and photos to supplement the reference guide. Mav and Piper are incredibly sweet. I enjoyed play time with them both and was astounded at how Mav is able to ring a bell! I especially enjoyed time with them out on the catio and couch time watching the latest streaming TV on their fantastic home projector. I felt like I was in a cinema every night but on a recliner sofa and with a cat or 2 on my lap! Their home is beautiful, functional and clean and Janine went out of her way to ensure that I had a few little creature comforts that made my stay quite homey. Their apartment is situated on a resort style property complete with a 24hr gym and a fabulous pool. Thank you Janine and Grant for entrusting me with the care of your 2 precious kitties and your home. I had a truly wonderful stay.
Judith and Scott welcomed me in their house and we parted as best friends! Maisy is a superdog and I enjoyed her company a lot, she has indeed a perfect "downward facing dog" :-). The 3 cats are very self-sufficient. The environment is just stunning. Hope I can help come back in the future!
Katherine was a wonderful hostess. All instructions for the house and the pups were typed out and very clear. Her home was very clean and comfortable. Hank and Kiera are such different dogs. Kiera is super friendly right from our first meeting. She automatically thinks you want to rub her belly so she rolls right on over for you😁. She received so many belly rubs from us. She is just too cute. Hank is a little timid and not so sure of you. We just left him alone to give him his space until he wanted to come to us. It didn't take long, and then he was with us a lot. He loves being loved on. I would sit on the floor with him and just rub behind his ears and down his back. He seemed to enjoy that very much. We very much enjoyed our stay with Hank and Kiera and would do it again.
Sabina and Erhard were really kind and friendly from day one, we felt very welcome in their home. Their other members, Kira, Yoda and Tuvok, are super adorable and affectionate cats. We loved accompanying and caring for them, they are very friendly and loving. The house is amazing, beautiful and spacious, with a wonderful garden in an environment full of nature. Without a doubt, it has been an awesome experience.
I never got to do this sit as unfortunately the owner decided to change the dates as well as the times of the sit, making it impossible to leave my other sit any earlier than I could, to get to this sit before they needed to leave. If the owner had requested someone for either the evening of 27 July or morning of 28 July when they actually needed a sitter, then I would not have replied, as I had a commitment of a sit in another area of the UK and that sit did not finish until 29 July, the original date that this sit was suppose to start. I tried to make an adjustment and with previous owners agreement was able to get to this sit by 3pm on 28 July after being told that evening would be okay, only to now be told a week out for the sit, that 3pm was not acceptable and that they needed to leave earlier. With no way of meeting their new request, I immediately declined the sit as soon as I knew that I could not meet their changed requirements and I sent a detailed reason of my commitment to the previous sit. I have never had to decline a sit like this before but sadly if an owner, such as this case, decides to make changes to the dates and times of a sit, they need to know that a sitter can meet those changes and unfortunately on this occasion, I could not accommodate those changes without letting others that I was already committed to down and I was not prepared to do that, as they had already agreed to make changes to allow me to leave a day earlier. As a result of the unacceptable situation that I was placed in, through no fault of my own, I do not believe that I deserved the review that this owner submitted.
