Bruna house sat for 3 months. I was hesitant to select someone so young (27), but Bruna threw herself into the responsibilities. I don’t have any pets so this house sit was essentially all about caring for the home and tending to the many flower beds which need a lot of care due to the tropical climate. It’s a big, time-consuming job, particularly given how hot it can get. But Bruna loved all of the plants. She was very meticulous about weeding and trimming, cleaning up debris, eliminating insect pests, and watering when needed. She sent photos once a week so I could advise on what might be needed.

Unfortunately, communication was less than ideal. She is not good at checking her messages or replying to messages. There was definitely a time difference but I had no difficulty having text conversations with my daughter every afternoon in that same time zone. My daughter was also working every day just like Bruna. We were using WhatsApp so sometimes I could see that 2 days after I sent a message she still hadn’t read it. It was almost impossible to have a conversation, just me sending a message, then hours or a day or two until a reply. And the weekends were actually worse. The little ‘thumbs up’ icon was a favorite reply of hers.
I did not have this with any of my previous 4 house sitters, all of whom stayed for the same 3 month period, possibly because they were older.
There was some damage that she did not tell me about.

Janet and Donovan
Sitting for Janet and Donovan was a wonderful experience. They are both prompt with communications and had a very thorough guide prepared for me regarding their home and pet care. The house is in one of the safest areas in Winnipeg and I was comfortable to be there alone.

Seth is a delight. He is a tiny sweetheart who will be happy in your company or snuggled up in one of his dog beds. His care is easy and he didn't take long to warm up to me for affection and company.

This is a highly recommended sit!

Gary & Cydney
Hank is great dog. He is kind of an elderly gentleman. He moves a bit slower and doesn’t love stairs, but otherwise he is doing really well. His mind is sharp and he is an enjoyable companion, affectionate and mellow.

Cydney & Gary were also great—responsive to texts, clear about Hank’s needs and habits, and flexible when I communicated I would need to take a short trip with Hank to prep some stuff at my house for a contractor.

The house was also well set up—a historic bungalow in the middle of downtown with all the mod cons.

We had such a great time staying at Shelley and Marc’s home in Osoyoos.

Pod, Dawa, Mousse, Ti, and Poppi were all so friendly and affectionate. They are all easy to care for and we loved spending time with them! Pod has such beautiful fur and is very regal, Dawa is very vocal and sweet, and Mousse is very affectionate and funny. The dogs go on walks within Shelley’s acreage which is very convenient and peaceful.

The cats, Ti and Poppi, are also super friendly and adorable - they love to make biscuits and are very cuddly. They are indoor cats and will sometimes try to get outside and roll around, but it’s very easy to stop them. They are Siamese cats and both have such pretty eyes and fur!

Shelley and Marc’s house is great - it’s very spacious with lovely large windows and a deck. There’s so much beautiful outdoor space and it’s very private and tranquil. It’s a 15 minute drive to the centre of Osoyoos down a scenic mountain road and there are lookouts/viewpoints to stop at along the road with picturesque views of Osoyoos lake. There are so many wineries to choose from in the area and it’s a great place to explore.

Shelley and Marc were very friendly and it was easy to communicate with them while they were away. We’d be more than happy to look after their zoo again, and would definitely recommend this sit!

We cannot recommend enough house-sitting for Julia and Fran. They are amazing people and made us feel at home from the very beginning.
Communication was super easy and nice from the first moment.
Fortunately, we had the chance to meet them in person, where they could show us everything regarding the house and pets. They even left us delicious food and drinks to make our stay even more enjoyable.

Milou and Pancha, the cats, are very calm and easy to look after.
Milou can be aloof at first, but when she gets to know you, she will ask for cuddles all the time. Pancha also enjoys cuddles but is more of an outdoor cat.

The house is very cosy and welcoming. We really enjoyed relaxing in the living room, especially in the evening when we lit the fireplace.
We also made great use of the desks to work at.
The garden deserves a separate mention as it is extremely beautiful, especially in the morning when we had tea in the sun (when it was sunny).

Castle Cary is a very quiet village and has everything you need. We walked around quite a bit and enjoyed the cafes. The hill behind the house is excellent for getting a glimpse of the town (and beyond!).

We would love to take care of Pancha and Milou again and have another excellent time at Fran and Julia's house!
