Miriam and her partner are welcome back anytime. They were excellent stewards of our home and little dog. Three weeks is a long time and unexpected things can and usually do happen. Miriam was prompt, calm and even a little humorous in letting us know what was happening on the home front. For instance, though our neighborhood is quiet and friendly, wouldn't you know that in the first week a minor traffic accident occurred right outside our house. No one was hurt, our property was not damaged, only a downed street sign. Later, a cluster of electric outlets stopped working in the kitchen and Miriam did all the reasonable things to figure out the problem to no avail. Fortunately plenty of other outlets were available to use. We had a bit of a heat wave with no rain and Miriam and I communicated about extra watering for which I was grateful. As a former homeowner, Miriam was familiar with the things that can come up and deals with them in a straight forward logical manner with no drama. It was so nice to come back to a home that felt lived in-in a good way! Clean and tidy, plants upright and smiling, no stuffy vacant house smell, and a puppy who was enthusiastic about seeing us but not in that post-kennel desperate way. Miriam is a wonderful communicator. We agreed on a check-in about every 4 days and sure enough she would send a brief text and a couple of photos of things she knew we would be interested in: proof that the fig tree was sprouting leaves, the columbine was blooming and the dog was having a great time on walks and riding in the car with her nose out the window. When Miriam inquired about our home she had a couple of needs: high speed internet and an outlet to charge an electric car. No problem on our end and we appreciated that she made clear right up front what her requirements were. She gets my highest rating. Your home and pet are in very competent and respectful hands with Miriam.

I had a great time hanging with Sheila's crew of 5 in her West Seattle home. The animals were all so unique and revealed themselves slowly, except for Lakota, who who was ready to play right away! I walked the dogs one at a time. It was great having a fenced yard for play, and a cat door, which made managing them easy. Shelia was great to communicate with, very accommodating, and welcomed me into her home. The views are gorgeous, and I loved being able to get right down to the beach and to Lincoln Park. I recommend this sit!

About the pets: Spodey, easy care turtle. Feed and water him once a day, clean out the enclosure and other than that you hardly knew he was there unless he was digging a hole to the other side of the universe.
Gadget: she is an adorable wet trained pup who really loves her game of chase with the stuffies. We enjoyed long walks and play time. A really sweet doggie to sit.
About the home: Courtney created a welcome guide with anything you could ever need and was a gracious hostess. The house was comfortably appointed for two. It was easy to find things like the snow shovels after a storm. We enjoyed our time and would be happy to sit Gadget and Spodey again.

Of approximately four dozen sits we have completed, this sit at Pawleys Island, looking after Stella, is one of our all-time favorites. Peggy and Tom are incredibly generous hosts, and interesting, well-travelled folks who support their community with humility and a sense of humour. We really enjoyed the time we had with them at the start of our sit.
Their lovely waterfront home is spacious, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. It includes a much-appreciated well-equipped kitchen. Pawleys plantation is a relaxed community and we met several of the neighbours, all friendly and laid back. A fabulous and largely deserted beach is a 6-minute drive away. We had a chance to explore the wider community a bit, learning more about its rich history. Future sitters have plenty of short trips available nearby, and chilling out at home will likely be a frequent choice.
Saving best for last: Stella! Stella is a gorgeous and an unusually affectionate cat, although on her own terms😊. She signalled her approval of us shortly after we arrived by settling on my shoulders and neck with loud purrrrrrs. While she didn’t sleep with us, she would often jump on our bed to wake us in the mornings, again cuddling and purring. Stella has her routine and is super easy to look after. We miss her!
We can’t recommend this sit enough – and do so without hesitation or reservation – this is the best there is. Peggy and Tom, we really enjoyed getting to know you. Thank you so much again for giving us this opportunity, opening your home to us and trusting us with precious Stella. Warm regards, D&D
