We absolutely loved our time in Krabi. Jeremy and Kathy's home is very comfortable and their pets are adorable. Jazz is a darling, If I had the option to get a dog I would like to have one just like Jazz. The 3 cats were very easy, Shadow is quiet but a sweetie, Stumpie and Limpy rule the roost! so I favoured Shadow! The pool was easy to maintain and we enjoyed swimming everyday. We had our own car so were able to explore the wider Krabi area. Such a variety of beaches and restaurants to discover. If the opportunity arrises we would love to return. Rainy season was also not an issue. When we had rain it brought the temps down a couple of degrees which was welcomed. If you get the opportunity we highly recommend this sit. Thank you to Jeremy and Kathy for trusting us to look after your pets and home.
We had a really great time with Trevor and Maida, we were able to experience some dinners and conversations with them… they are very warm, and kind hearted people, we definitely look forward to seeing them in the future. Next, of course are the cats; all five cats have their own personality and every day was an interesting interaction, we loved every one of them, I’m sure you’ll have your laughs just watching them be. We found that the chickens and cats alike are low maintenance, they’re happy just being fed and of course welcome being pet and welcome cuddling if you’re watching tv. We just relaxed at the house most days and it was a nice two weeks! We love walking so every time down to Cortemilia was a good little adventure. The house was perfectly equipped with everything we needed and the town cute, and homy-feeling.
Tina and Mark are excellent hosts and I very much enjoyed looking after their pets. Molly. Mable and Nora Watson are funny, cheeky and a pleasure to be with. The large garden is secure so the dogs can be let out without worry. The village feels surreally peaceful and the local walks around the greens and priory with Molly and Mable plus Nora, when she could be persuaded, were lovely. The house is decorated with style and humour and I was still noticing things on the final day that made me smile. Highly recommended.
I had a lovely time at Nicolette's urban forest retreat! Elio and Vilanelle are gorgeous, and even though they look similar you can tell them apart by their distinct personalities. As the weather got colder Elio would join me for some evening cuddles. Even though the house is in the city, it is tucked away in a hidden neighborhood right up against forest park, so if feels like being in the country. Being able to go on trail runs right from the front door was quite a plus!
It never ceases to amaze me the wonderful people I get to meet on the Trusted Housesitters platform. Rob & Jane are amongst the nicest, welcoming hosts I’ve come across in 5 years of sitting.. Both are fun to get to know, warm, friendly, very thoughtful, considerate and flexible . Just an amazing couple through and through. I truly enjoyed getting to know them and am ever so grateful for the generosity in letting me have the joy of staying in their stunning home and having the company of their darling kitties Mollie and Millie who were a joy to care for. Both are so easy to look after and very lovable. There are no words to adequately express my heartfelt gratitude to Rob & Jane for going out of their way the moment I arrived to make sure I was settled in and would be okay for the sit. Both were incredibly organised and thought of everything under the sun. Rob personally met and picked me up at the train station which helped a lot as I don’t drive . Jane organised dinner and we got to know each other better. I can’t recommend this sit enough. Wonderful homeowners, great company, beautiful home, amazingly well behaved and gorgeous cats, picturesque location with stunning views - an idyllic tranquil countryside sit and a peaceful haven. You simply cannot ask or want for more. From the detailed Welcome Guide, map print outs, bus schedule, brochures of places of interest, you’d have everything you need. Shrublands is accessible even if you don’t drive. It’s a short distance to Bury city center, Bury train and bus station by bus, car or taxi. Tesco Superstore, Arc Mall and the usual high street brands in Bury are all walkable.. The main Bury Road route is dotted by villages - West Stow is the closest . The Anglo Saxon village and Lackford nature reserve nearby are both worth visiting. Cambridge is a short train ride away. I highly recommend Lavenham as well. Just a car , bus or train ride away. If you love nature and enjoy walks and have a chance to do Rob & Jane’s sit, don’t hesitate to grab this gem of a sit. A car would enhance exploring the area. Icing on the cake for me were loving sisters Mollie and Millie. They are both very independent but extremely affectionate at the same time. They love and seek human companionship, engage in play and respond well to attempts to interact with them. Mollie was the more outgoing one and took to me immediately. Millie was more reserved initially but she came round to my relief. The transformation was amazing and both were a delight and a breeze to care for. Lots of kneading and lap snuggles. Bliss. I enjoyed every moment of my time with them, watching their antics and personalities unfold. The neighbourhood kitties love Rob & Jane’s house as much as I do and hang out in their garden. Much to Millie & Mollie’s understandable annoyance. So M&M will appreciate your company when they go out into the garden . Trust me, you will enjoy the outdoors as much as the interior of their home. So massive thanks once again Rob & Jane for your hospitality, generosity and friendship. You are the essence of what the THS platform mantra is all about. 10 stars out of 5.
