This was a fabulous sit in every respect. James and Caroline are lovely people who made me feel genuinely welcomed from the outset. Arriving the night before I was invited to have supper with the family, which included their two teenage children who had just returned home for the Easter holidays. The idea of this was a little daunting at first but on arrival I was quickly reassured resulting in a very enjoyable evening with delicious food, interesting conversation, and nice wine. In the days that followed I felt extremely privileged to be entrusted with looking after their beautiful and interesting home as well as two of the sweetest and most well-behaved dogs I have ever encountered. This combined with the famously stunning setting completed the picture, the only slight downside being the somewhat sodden weather, which made the ground rather muddy in places. I will remember the week with great affection and hope for the chance of a return visit at some point in the future.
