Stunning couple who gave us such a warm welcome. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in their lovely home. Bobby and Joey were a real delight, well behaved and easy to take care of, even though Bobby is deaf and Joey is quite old. Taking the dogs for their daily walk, was a highlight! We were happy to take care of the garden and watering the plants regularly during the heat wave. Thank you, Wayne and Shane, for making our stay comfortable.
Upon my arrival two day before the actual house sit I was welcomed with a very nice Appartement for these 2 days and a dinner invitation. Such a warm reception! Communication on WhatsApp before and during the house sit was informative and entertaining. Katharina and Norbert are truly wonderful hosts. Their home is comfortable, elegant and nicely furnished and decorated. The neighborhood is friendly and helpful. Potsdam City with all the historic buildings and parks is close by and Berlin is reachable by public transport. Poul is already an older gentleman and sleeps a lot, but attaches great importance to being stroked and talked to. If he doesn't like something, he expresses it, which makes him easy to deal with. He was a wonderful companion to me and I really and truly miss him. Thank you Katharina and Norbert for your trust and generosity. And of course I would love to come back ;-)
My own Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (Brecon) and I enjoyed a long weekend looking after Louis and Max. After a few hours together, the three dogs were happily playing together. Louis and Max were happy to share toys with Brecon and it was so funny to see Brecon begin to copy Louis and Max. They are the easiest of dogs to look after: Max is more senior to Louis and has earned his right to snooze on the sofa in the sunlight. Louis liked to sit just outside on the gravel. Both dogs know their names and happily came to call when I rattled their leads. We turned right outside the house and because Max is a senior dog, we walked for about 10 minutes twice a day. At other times the dogs pottered in the extensive garden. The house is modern and has an older part attached. This is a listed building and prompted me to do some research into its origins: built about 1834 it is the Lodge which marked the entrance to a considerable country estate. Now fully modernised it was an interesting, and comfortable place to stay for a weekend. The regency town of Cheltenham is only a few miles away, but a car is essential as the house is tucked away along a country lane. Cheltenham has everything you need if you’re into history, upmarket shopping and fine eateries. There are pretty parks such as Pittville Park to walk around and the cosmopolitan area of Montpellier is lovely. The small ‘village’ of Charlton Kings, en route to the house from Cheltenham, is also interesting. By the time I was ready to leave, Max had started to snuggle up to me on the sofa and Louis liked to bring a soft toy in his mouth for me to throw for him. Communication with Suzy was good, with a clear welcome pack provided. For this sit, as with others I’ve done, I was able to visit in advance and I really recommend this if it’s possible. Brecon misses Max and Louis very much!
I had a lovely week with sweetest girl Yoyo in Josephine and Tom’s cozy home. Yoyo was a bit shy in the beginning but once she warmed up and trusted me we got a long as good old friends. Yoyo is gentle, affectionate and easy to love and look after - I miss her already! Thank you all!
We feel very grateful for the incredible experience of house sitting Anna and Robert's home. From the moment we arrived, their warm hospitality made us feel part of the family. We formed a wonderful connection with Chili, Sona and Noki. Whether it was playful antics or quiet moments of companionship, they were very close. We created beautiful memories with our furry friends, such as walking Noki through the forest, talking with Sona (she is a chatty cat) or having a cozy time with Chili on the couch. They are the best! The house is amazing, large with really cozy areas and a huge garden. Everything was well-organized and provided with a comfortable environment, which makes one want to spend a lot of time indoors. If the occasion arises again, we would be more than happy to house sit for them. Thank you for making our stay so delightful and memorable!
Visiting Jody and John's place along the Tualatin River was like a beautiful dream. Each day was filled with love from their furry and feathered friends. Walking through the beautiful gardens there are views of the preserve and the river. There is a bench that is perfect for watching sunsets. Time can feel suspended here. John and Jody entertained me the night before the sit with dinner and touring the farm. I had fun getting to know them a little better. They are wonderful hosts and made sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. Jody was easy to communicate with at any time. My companions on the stay were all delightful! Licorice the Scottish Terrier is adorable and always ready to go for a walk. Pokey the peacock quickly recognized me as "food-giver" and would call out to me, so I learned to speak a little "peacock." The roosters and hens were friendly and easy to care for. I enjoyed Ike the alpaca, the sweet sheep, the doves and the baby turkeys. The neighbors are all friendly and helpful. I was sad to leave this beautiful place and sweet animal family and hope to visit Jody and John's loving home again.
