We really enjoyed this sit. Before Sian and Richard left we had a couple of days to get to know the pets, house, garden and each other. We got information about things to do in the area because they also wanted us to have a good time. The pets were easy to take care of, we spend quite some time in the back garden with the chickens. Bam bam loved his treats, he is old but still very lively. Kia, kept her distance but did let us know when she needed anything. She was lovely to watch. The house is very nice and comfortable, the garden is beautiful. We certainly recommend this sit and want to thank Richard and Sian for there hospitality and trust in us. Groetjes Wil and Ina
This was our first housesit and we have to say thank you to Helen for taking us on board. It was brilliant! We met up with Helen and the family....and pets...the night before they went away for a week. It was a perfect way for us all to be introduced and also to get to know the surroundings. We were extremely comfortable in their home and we had everything we needed...and more. The surrounding area is fantastic for dog walking and Nelli, the springer spaniel, took us on long walks every day. She is just non stop chasing a ball, or stick. She is wonderful. Ruby, the cat, settled on our lap every night and was more than happy with lots of stroking. The hamster slept and ate and was no trouble. It was a great experience with lots of happy memories made during our stay. We would love to return. Many thanks Liz & Nick
The two cats Sulis and Tetters are really sweet and after a short period of getting to know each other they are really cuddly and easy to handle. They like company and their food :D but are also ok with you leaving and exploring the surrounding or going to the beach for a few hours. But unfortunately a few components of the sit weren’t for us. We like a warm but more minimalistic interior. From the photos and Devalayas statement, that she emphasizes with cleanliness, we figured we are on the same page. But the photos are probably from moving in the house or so, since there is a lot more decoration and stuff in the house nowadays. Which isn’t bad, it’s just quite a different style of living and organizing. Nethertheless floors, baths and free surfaces are very clean! Also we like little towns that are a bit cultural/historical, with nice, individual buildings, we like to go to markets, cafés, eat local food, do sightseeing and so on. Mil Palmeras has a nice beach, but it’s a mostly touristic place with a lot of hotels and vacation apartments, touristic restaurants and no pretty alleys or so. We had no rental car, which was totally fine, since we like to take long walks and there is also a bus (but it’s not running that often). The closest supermarket is around 20 min away, Torre de la Horadada half an hour. Since there isn’t that much to see in Mil Palmeras, a rental car is certainly a good thing so you can explore the area more. Devlaya was very polite, has a detailed welcome guide, lots of information notes are pinned in the house and you are free to use towels, bed linen, washing machine etc. She has a few limitations and clear definitions what’s hers and what’s free to use, which we think is totally understandable and fine. The short distance to the beach and the street with restaurants is nice, there is a community pool free to use and Devalaya answers to questions quickly! Even though we would not come back again because of the combination of the different style of living and not being interested in visiting Mil Palmeras again, which are just things of personal preference, Devlaya and the cats are lovely and we wish them all the best and many great sitters in the future.
Sheralee is a generous host with a great sinse of humor. She was great to communicate with and responded very quickly with any questions I had. The house is very modern and has everything one might need for a great sit. The kitties warmed up to me right away, even G.G. Max is very social, Buddy loves to cuddle when watching t.v. and G.G. is shy but just likes attention when she wants it. The kitties were no trouble to care for because Sheralee left a great detailed guide. I recommend this sit and would be glad to care for the kitties anytime.
It was an absolute pleasure dog sitting Georgie who was the best company and I also really enjoyed staying in Nikki and Mike's beautiful home and visiting the local Chiswick House and Gardens.
I had a great time during this pet-sit! Hilari is a very sweet, gentle and affectionate kitty, I especially liked that she assisted me with my work by sitting on my lap and in the mornings she would see me wake up and come and greet me. Her asthma medication was easy to administer and otherwise care for her was standard kitty care and easy. Kira's flat was very nice and homely with beautiful balconies with great views. It was very quiet and there was a dedicated workspace with an external monitor and a keyboard, so it was easy to WFH. The area also was very nice, with a nature reserve for bird-watching walking distance away and the city centre could be easily reached by bike or frequent public transport. There's also a shopping centre 5 min walk away with Lidl and other grocery stores. Kira was also very easy to communicate with and very friendly. All in all, I really enjoyed my stay and would be happy to return!
