My husband and I had a great experience sitting for Paisley and Wally...such sweet pups. Barb was lovely and gave us all the information we needed for our sit to be a success. Beautiful home in a nice neighborhood with a fabulous park to walk the dogs.
We stayed at Matteo's and Marida place for a month during August 2022 looking after Timmy - a legend of a dog - and the house. We absolutely loved it. Here's our feedback to help you decide if this is the right place for you to consider: 1. The hosts are just amazing. They really went our of their way to make sure we were comfortable and everything was working perfectly. 2. Location - it is in Rozzano, south side of Milan in a charming estate with many small attached houses. 5 mins walk are the cycling and jogging lanes next to the water canals which you can go for 30 km or more safely off the road. An absolute paradise if you enjoy fresh air and exercise (plus eating as many figs as you can from the trees along the route). Great safe parking on site. We felt safe and really loved it. There are a few bigger shopping centres with Zara etc reachable on foot (30 mins) or just 5 mins by bus). 3. Transport - Every 10 mins there is a tram to Milan (circa 35 mins - very comfortable. A ticket to Milan is EUR 2). Getting from main train station with luggage is easy. Carrefour and other shops are a short walk away. There are a few pretty good coffee shops around (5 mins walk) and one where I sat outside to work a few times with my laptop. 3. The actual house - no aircon but aside maybe from a really hot day here and there we were really comfortable. Lots of wonderful spaces to chill out, work and live in. There is ultra fast wifi. The whole infrastructure is just perfect and we absolutely loved it and felt really at home and spoiled. 4. Duties and time required: Timmy the dog is actually quite a character. He is old so the morning walk does tend to be a bit slow (and him being a personality it is more a case of him deciding where you will go on the day) but we used the time to listen to podcasts and enjojy the park next to the house. Evening walk is 15 mins - so really not an issue. During the day the dog is sleeping most of the time. Feeding is easy. We miss Timmy a lot (his snoring is now my phone default ringing tone!). At night he sleeps in the garage, There is a fresh vegetables garden you need to visit a couple of times a week to pick all the vegetables you want to eat! Really no work and we love the fresh air). We loved this space and would really recommend it especially if you are a digital nomad or want a comfortable place to work/read/study from (superb internet quality). Being so close it is easy to get around and do sightseeing. You just have to remember that the dog needs you in the morning (around 8am) to go out and be fed and the late afternoon/early evening for a short walk and food. Other than that you can go and explore Milan with all its wonders.
We enjoyed a lovely short but sweet sit at Jeremy and Rachel’s! They took us on a video tour of their home before we arrived as we weren’t meeting in person, and made sure to send over all the information we could need for our stay. The flat is gorgeous and homely, perfectly located in a quiet residential area but still within walking distance to Kings Cross and all the shops in Camden Town. Monster and Arturo were a delight to care for! They bonded with us straight away and we enjoyed lots of playtime and snuggles with them both - Arturo even climbed into bed with us each night which we loved! Monster was very well behaved on walks and got lots of attention from everyone we met on the street, and once at home he loves nothing more than curling up for cuddles on the sofa. This is the perfect sit for anyone who loves super affectionate pets! We miss their sweet faces already. Thank you so much for having us, Jeremy and Rachel, we hope we can come back in the future!
Pickles is the sweetest cat, Meabh is great to communicate with, and Battersea is a great neighborhood location in London. Don’t pass up this sit! :)
My partner and I have just returned from a fantastic few days house sitting for Charlie at Gemma's lovely home in Wivenhoe. It was such a lovely, relaxing time and Charlie was delightful when we did see him (he's out and about all day in the warmer weather). Wivenhoe by the estuary is stunning with lots of gorgeous walks and pubs. Gemma made us feel so welcome and at home and I woud definetley recommend this sit to anyone. Thanks Gemma
Toby and Michael were very gracious hosts from the minute we arrived and made us feel at home with a delicious dinner the night before they left. Jasper, their sweet and pretty Golden Retriever, was relaxed, easy going and cooperative. Walnut Creek is situated in a beautiful area and is a cool city with amazing shops and restaurants downtown, and their warm, pleasant and comfortable home is within walking distance to downtown. (Note: their new mattress in the guest room is great! and the room is quiet for sleeping.) The location of their home is very close to fantastic hiking and cycling trails. I would recommend this housesit and would like to go back myself.
