Lovely sit just outside Honiton in Devon. We stayed in a quaint 2 bedroomed cottage with log fire; attached to the main house. The 3 dogs were awesome and no bother at all. Leia, the Weimeraner, was an elderly lady but still strong. More importantly she was very friendly, craving fuss and attention. The 2 tinies (dachshunds) Bertie and Maisie were a little shy at first but once they got to know you, you were their best friend. Small dogs with big characters. Ian and Mo were very friendly, hospitable and good company. They very kindly took us out for a meal at a local pub before we left. Would recommend the sit.
Frankie, Mishka and Luna were all absolutely delights to look after. Jackie herself was so lovely too and so is her home. Had a lovely stay
Anna & James were lovely. Thankyou for letting us have the pleasure of looking after your lovely home and your 'babies' The dogs Bridgett and Peggy were so unbelievably well behaved and were just so cuddly... and the cats were purr machines. The aga is lovely to cook on and warm yourself up on. our room was just perfect up top the view in the evening and morning is to die for. We spent all our indoor time in the kitchen as it was just so homely. There is no shortage of lovely places to visit and take the dogs for a run. I was really relaxed and loved every minute of our stay. I hope we will be invited back soon.
We had the good fortune to sit for Audrey and Roberto's very loveable dogs Piper and Greyson. Their home is inviting and the guest bedroom is very comfortable. The house is located in a quiet neighbourhood in Elkton with grocery stores, shops and restaurants all within a 10 minute drive. The historic area of the City of St. Augustine is a 15 minute drive away. Greyson is the absolute sweetest dog! He is strong but is very good on his walks. Piper is a cute bundle of energy who will keep you entertained! He too is very strong and needs a firm hand for walking. Both dogs enjoy a 45 minute walk in the morning. They can play in their fenced-in back yard for the rest of the day although they will want to be in the house with you. Their yard allow for the dogs to get lots of exercise without leaving the property. For sleeping, the dogs have their own room upstairs (the pet sitter's bedroom is on the main floor). The dogs can be left on their own for 4 to 5 hours. They are fed twice a day and are not on any medication. Audrey was good at communicating before and during the sit. She provided a thorough explanation of the dogs' routine and details on the care of their home. She and Roberto are both very kind and made us feel very welcomed in their home. We recommend this sit and welcome the opportunity to return!
The homeowner is welcoming , a good communicator and she left clear written expectations and directions. Her cat, after a 3-day super-cautious watching period, was a real charmer and a snuggler. There is no wifi service to the home and my Spectrum service and hotspot were pretty useless.
We have just returned from a wonderful month house sitting for Cathryn, Larry and Millie and Frankie (the two cats) near Brantôme. What a great experience it was for us as it was our very first housesit for Trusted Housesitters and it was perfect in every way! Cathryn and Larry are so welcoming and friendly, we arrived and had a very comprehensive chat about the house and garden and of course met the 2 gorgeous cats. We enjoyed a lovely dinner and breakfast with them before they headed off on their holiday. The cats are absolutely delightful and also very easy to care for and they are incredibly cuddly and love to be around you both in the house and garden. The house is situated on the outskirts of a pretty little village with bar, baker, chemist and restuarant with Thiviers 10 minutes drive away. Thiviers is a market town and has everything you need including a Tourist Information Office. Further afield there are so many beautiful towns and villages to visit and fantastic Châteaux all within easy reach. When not sight seeing we throughly enjoyed the garden where we could relax and enjoy the peace and quiet in the lovely sunshine! Cathryn was always excellent at communicating both before and during our stay which was very helpful for us. It was so enjoyable we are returning next June (2023) for another sit!
