My sit with Miranda's cats was delightful! Miranda and her husband, Simon, run a B&B in a beautiful, octagonal historic home, and while I stayed at the refurbished barn (their home) behind the inn, the lovely grounds were mine to hang around on!. They actually give you an extra night before and after your sit where you can stay in the Inn and have a chance to try their amazing vegan breakfasts which they put a lot of work and passion into. The best part is that the inn is only 4 minutes away from the peaceful lakefront town of Hammondsport on Keuka Lake. There is a marina there but also swimming area for a refreshing swim. Really refreshing! As a B&B host, Miranda was a good communicator and really knew how to show hospitality to me, even though she just had a back injury and was in extreme pain. The kitties are very sweet - all with different personalities! Lulu and Hogarth are the most confident with humans and will provide you with great company, but the other two will warm up to you after a while. The whole finger lakes area is beautiful and is known for their wineries, many of which are on the hills with a view of the lake. You will also enjoy the friendly locals in the area. A peaceful and beautiful place to housesit!
Donna and Pete are lovely people; Donna took the time to pick me up at the station as I had an injured foot, and Pete welcomed me with a beer. What else can I say? Their house is beautiful, low maintenance and in a great location. Bear is so easy to look after. Initially, he is a bit timid, but once he gets to know you, he is a great companion. I can't recommend them enough as we have become friends.
Such a lovely house sit in a gorgeous cottage with 2 cuddly well behaved dogs and 3 cats. The garden is amazing and extremely private. You can walk into the village in 5 minutes, there are 3 pubs a co-op and other independent shops and eateries.. Emma is a kind and generous Host, we met up a few weeks before the sit as we were in the area.. Lots of footpaths and bridleways in the area if walking is your bag, and Bertie the Spaniel is the best companion.. Thank you for choosing us.. x
Everything went well. The dogs are adorable and well behaved. The house is in a very nice neighbourhood close to a park for dogs. Nicole and her husband were very welcoming. I would housesit for them again.
It’s was just wonderful staying at Yolanda and Leon’s home. It is inviting, tidy, and full of incredible art. Boh, Jerome, and Carl are all very sweet and affection pets. The neighborhood is walkable and there are many interesting places to visit in Arlington Heights plus it’s very convenient to Chicago attractions.
We had a wonderful time with Blue at Khayla's. She is always willing to play and every time we arrived to the apartment she was up for some cuddles and was purring out loud. Khayla gave us clear instructions on how Blue's usual routine was like, and we went through those in person. Having it written in the Welcome guide was really helpful to not forget any details. Even though Khayla was on a trip, communications with her went great! Every time we had a question regarding Blue or the house in general, Khayla was super quick in her response. The apartment is gorgeous, we really wish we could have stayed the whole visit inside the house because it is really inspiring. It is located at a very well connected neighborhood, with grocery store's, cafe's and bars very close by. Khayla left everything nice and clean and we tried leaving the apartment the same way when we left. We will miss Blue and her funny playful dances, and we hope we get back really soon!
