Fiona and David were such lovely hosts. Their communication was excellent and they so clearly care so much about Polly and Tinto and want both you and them to be as comfortable as possible. Tinto is a gorgeous dog and Polly is such lovely company. The house is comfortable and the surrounding area is stunning. I would recommend this home!
Luna, Phina, adorable Bowie, Michael and Brian - what a wonderful family! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay with them, and would love to visit again some day. Bowie, especially, worked his way into my heart. Michael and Brian were incredibly welcoming, kind, generous, and great company and their home was comfy/cozy and had everything you could possibly need. Love!
Looking after Sky was great. Beautiful home and excellent communication by Nikki. Sky is a gorgeous cat. She took some time to warm up to me - but once she did, she was fun to play with and loved chasing around her toy and diving into paper bags. An overall great experience.
Cris and Sonja are amazing humans who have given us so much grace as we made sure to do a proper key transfer for us to get in. We were planning to come in on the start date of the sit, but due to a mishap on our end, we were able to meet a day early and honestly, I’m glad we did. Their home was beautifully spacious, uncluttered and organized. We were spoiled for choice of books with beautiful views of the Hudson river. The apartment is older, and as such is heated with old school water heaters, so bring thicker PJs if you run cold. If you run hot like Melquea, bring a thinner pair of PJs and open the window a crack overnight. ***If you’re a light sleeper, bring your earplugs or noise cancellation solutions in case sounds of traffic keep you up. Washington Heights has such a different cultural vibe and flavor than the usual big-city posh stomping grounds of Midtown Manhattan. But it’s not without its perks. We didn't explore the heights as much as we wanted to, but we were able to dig into some local food spots. We had many lazy days and stayed inside a lot, and it allowed us to spend more time with the girls. As for the girls: These. Cats. Are. HILARIOUS. As soon as I walked in to meet my hosts, Astrid gave me the slow blink of approval, which is the highest form of approval in my book, while Zsa Zsa, the little diva that she is, ran up to me with her tail head high meowing. Astrid comes to you and will leave you as quickly as she came. She always comes back. But if you allow it, and you’re in bed, she may crawl right in with you. The girls are so sweet and vocal! We loved their meows and loved having conversations with them as the talked back. Both are so distinct in their personalities, but they both have a ton of love to give. Pro Tip! These kits can get overstimulated with scritches pretty easily. Zsa Zsa’s back is sensitive, but she loves her tummy rubbed! Astrid is a relatively sensitive girl, too and doesn’t like pets from over her head. Try approaching your hand from the side. They can shed a lot, so bring a lint roller, but as pet sitters, lint rollers are non-negotiable in this line of work! Hands (and paws) down, we have to come back. I can’t get enough of that view, especially at sunset and especially during the first sunrise. And the kits were a breeze. They’re great company and they purr so easily. Such a highlight of a sit!
