David and Kerin are gracious hosts with 3 great furry kids. Kerin is a super cook who prepared a delicious welcome dinner for me. David pointed out several of the many sights to visit in Aiken- which is a charming Old South town - and the surrounding area that includes Augusta. I didn't follow through with enough of his suggestions as I would have liked because I was distracted by their interesting library (reading books on the back deck) and Fonda's love of walks along quiet winding streets to the off-leash park for ball catching. Ginger and Rusty are sweet guys who will hang out with you, then head off to do their yard patrol. So easy care. I heartily recommend this sit -but bring DEET!
We had a fantastic sit in the company of Bärli and Waffles! A few weeks before we had already met Cassandra, Ian and their daughter Malena, seen the house and of course learned all there was to know about the dogs. All communication was excellent and we were welcomed like kings: with a delicious cannelloni dish made by Cassandra and the most fantastic cupcakes made by Malena (She could easily win a cupcake competition with those!) The house is clean, modern, comfortable and fully equipped. The large garden is beautiful and the area is very suitable for hiking or biking. Bärli and Waffles are very sweet and loving dogs. Bärli is calm and asks for attention when she needs it. She needs some medicine every day, but the pills are very easy to give her. Waffles has lots of energy, loves to run, play, tease Bärli and be petted. Both love cuddles and love to sit with you on the couch or on your lap. It is just so much fun to be around them!! We really had a great time and already miss the dogs. Hopefully we can do another housesit with them, that would make us very happy!
