Those who are lucky, where Toni and Andrew apply for a house sit, because they are the best housesitters you can imagine. They are very reliable, thoughtful and considerate. They are wonderful with animals and can sense what they need. Our animals loved them.
The garden is thriving and everything in the house is just as it should be, nearly better. 😊
When we came home, not only was the house spotlessly clean from top to bottom, but we were also greeted by completely happy animals, a thriving, well-kept garden and even a cooked dinner! It was stunning!
It was a turbulent vacation and the only thing that worked out from start to finish was the housesitting. Thanks a lot for all you did here! We loved to have you looking for the pets. You did incredibly good work. To know at home is everything going well was so relaxing being far away. We sincerely hope you'll have time to come again on our next vacation. All the best.

Giselle was amazing. Very good with communication and letting me know how things were going while I was gone. She took better care of my cat than I did and now I am trying to maintain the cats higher expectations. She was also great in taking the dog to the park for a walk each day and left the house in great shape.

From the other reviews I think this sit was possibly an anomaly for Devon. But overall it was not a good match for my dog or for me. Luna can be a shy dog at first, and there were a few issues and miscommunications that came up, that I think caused Luna to be stressed and therefore even more shy. First, Devon had guests during most of the stay, which wasn't discussed with me. And second, there was a point during the stay where Devon was gone for over 20 hours with limited communication with me. More details below, because I want to leave a fair review but also informative for other pet owners. Overall Devon was friendly, clean, and communicative most of the time. She offered to get Luna chicken when she wasn't eating much, which was nice. She may be a good pet sitter for others, but this sit didn't go the way that I would want it to. It didn't seem like taking care of Luna was much of a priority.

I made sure that I introduced Luna to Devon during our quick intro (we met for less than 10 min because Devon had to get to a gig). Luna is shy, so I wanted to spend time introducing Devon to her, and it seemed to go well and Luna and she seemed to get along. But Devon had friends for most of the stay, which can be stressful for my dog. We had not discussed anyone else being a part of the sit, and in the past sitters have always checked with me if they were going to have guests, especially to stay the night. I will say that with a less nervous dog it may not have been an issue. And to be fair, we didn’t discuss guests before her stay. I assumed that meant there weren't going to be others at the house. I know now to bring that up with sitters before.

The most concerning issue was that Devon got stuck in the east bay at a gig and wasn’t at the house for over 20 hours. She let me know she was going to be gone from 6:30-11:30pm and asked if it was ok if my brother (who lives in the unit below) could take Luna out that night. That was totally fine, and was something that I let her know was an option if she needed help. But she had told both of us that she was coming back by 11:30pm. The next morning at 10am my brother let Luna out to the backyard to play with his dog (he asked Devon first), and he said she pooped and peed immediately as if she had been holding it. When I spoke with Devon later that day, she said she had come back at 3pm (after leaving at 6pm the night before). She had missed Bart the night before and woke up to my brother’s text at 10am. She said she didn’t rush back, because he had let her out. I expressed to her then and still strongly believe that she should have let us know the night before that she wasn’t making it back, or at the very least in the morning to ensure that Luna was let out and fed. She should not have relied on my brother to let Luna out at 10am just by chance, well after she would normally go out.

Our walk through was only 5-10 min because she had to get to a gig and hit traffic on her way in. In the future I have learned I want to make sure that I have a longer walk through and introduction. And I need to be more direct about my guest policy. I really don't like leaving bad reviews. And honestly Devon seemed friendly. I think there were some miscommunications which made it not a great sit for my shy dog, and therefore me.
