I enjoyed my house & cat sitting with Laurie’s three cats (aka The Boys). Laurie had me visit in advance to orient me and in addition she left thorough notes & all the emergency numbers that I could ever need. She generously supplied me with her transportation pass for subways, streetcars & buses, and explained all I would need to know about the Boys’ dietary and other habits, and how I could adapt feeding if I needed to. She checked in with me by email & I checked in with her, so it worked out nicely. I would be happy to sit for Laurie again.
The Norris family is loving, compassionate, and funny. Their girl Tilley is a Westie that will become your bestie. Her favorite toys are Rufus, Froggie, and especially Lambie. There are loads of beautiful and safe places to walk Tilley. She has a loving disposition that will make you laugh, from her obsession for tennis, dogs, and kangaroos on television commercials to her protective nature of ducks. The home sits on a beautiful pond with turtles, geese, and ducklings. They have a lovely garden, too. One thing I will mention is you will want to be near this sweet dog during thunderstorms and fireworks... but what creature likes these, anyway? I do sincerely wish we lived closer, because this sweet dog truly captured my heart.
Marj was a wonderful host. We confirmed this sit about 5 months in advance and kept in contact until it started. She picked us up from the airport which we greatly appreciated and she provided thorough instructions. Mr. Bean is a great companion. He always wants to be part of the pack and he will follow you everywhere. He’s really easy to walk and you’ll love to take care of him. Marj also has a housekeeper. Mirna works 3 days/week from about 10a-3p. She’s great to have around and she loves Mr. Bean too. She will walk him and feed him when she arrives. I would definitely recommend this sit.
Wow, where do I even begin? Vaughn was extremely kind and generous with us, going above and beyond to ensure that we felt happy and comfortable taking care of his home and furry family members. He was very easy to talk to whenever we needed something. The three girls (dogs), Yuki, Sushi, and Tiffany, were such sweet and loving dogs! We will definitely miss them a lot. Sushi is the youngest one, and she has a lot of energy, of course, because she's a pup. She loves to go in the pool, get wet, play with water, run around, and she gives HUGE hugs! Yuki is protective and always alert to her surroundings. She's very sweet, loving, and gentle. She also loves finding iguanas! Both Yuki and Sushi love hugs, kisses, and cuddles, which is amazing since they're big dogs; it feels like you're hugging a big teddy bear or stuffed animal. Tiffany is the oldest one; she's very calm and quiet, likes to chill, get sun, and loved to be close to us at all times. It was noticeable that she preferred my husband over me, which I believe might be due to my more hyper nature compared to him. We grew very attached to all three girls because they are so good, obedient, well-behaved, and always ready to receive love. All three dogs, of course, loved their treats, and Yuki and Sushi were obsessed with playing with the water from the water hose, which was always a blast for us to watch. Vaughn's home was super spacious and comfortable with lots of different areas to hang out during the day and night, which made us barely need or want to leave the house because we felt so good there. The closest beach is Playa Hermosa, which was a great place to see the sunrise or sunset, really close to the home, about 10 minutes or so. Jaco town was amazing, and we enjoyed the Jaco walk too. We look forward to returning in the near future to be with the girls again :)
A fantastic sit! Ben is totally sweet! He’s very chilled and loves a cuddle! A pleasure to look after! Jacquie was brilliant. We met before the house sit where she provided clear instructions of what to do on the stay, and showed me round the house. She also left us flapjacks which were delicious!
