We had a wonderful mountain retreat here with Charly, Bilbo, Crusher and the chickens! Allyson and Curtis are so generous and responsive with communications. The land was peaceful and the autumn leaves and nearby creek were constantly singing to us the gentle song of nature. We felt alive and connected to the land so much so that we wanted to live in a place like theirs! Since the location is far from town, I would suggest trying to cut back on commuting times if possible. The ecosystem at their little farm is a sweet model- man/woman is present, dog protects chickens, and chickens lay range-free eggs to feed man/woman. If you need to go out you can keep the chickens in their run and the dogs inside. However, we only did that one day to explore Salmon Arm, because we loved the land and animals so much! They have many modern amenities at the same time it's a rustic country remodel. You get a real connection to the land and water- especially when the water pump stops due to low pressure during the dry season and you need to go down into the crawlspace to prime it! (I was too greedy when I saw their lovely bathtub I ran it too full for the pump!) The dogs are so well-behaved and sweet, I honestly miss them. They don't need daily walks because they have plenty of land to roam free on. Bilbo has a special Halo collar which works well as an invisible fence and a way to call her when she is out of sight on the hillside. There are amazing woods and lakes to explore by walking or driving a short distance from the property. Highly recommend checking out Pilar Lake where you can see a rare geologic formation. We had a delightful experience pet sitting Loki in Munich. He's a loving and affectionate dog who craves cuddles and playtime. While he pulled slightly on the leash during walks, he quickly responded when we established ourselfs as the leader. Loki's considerate nature was evident as he slept next to the bed and approached us only when awake. Rossana and Andrea, Loki's owners, were excellent hosts, providing clear instructions and easy communication. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and conveniently located. Loki's charm and playful nature brought joy to our time in Munich. He was gentle and friendly towards others, both humans and dogs. At home, he was calm, affectionate, and loved playing with his toys. We highly recommend spending time with Loki in Munich. It was a fantastic experience, and we thoroughly enjoyed every moment. Thank you for the wonderful time!
