Staying at Teresa and Andrew's house was such a pleasure: Great canine companions (Millie & Max), stunning views of the mountains, and deer peacefully meandering by in nearby fields. It's close to Salida but still very much in nature! 10 out of 10!
We had a wonderful time at Craig’s and Neus’ place and enjoyed spending time with Halley so much. They warmly welcomed us before they left, showed us around and even cooked delicious food for us. Halley is the cutest! She’s super easy, follows you around everywhere, demands her food and will thank you for it with cuddles on the couch. The flat was perfect to work from and you can have an amazing view from the balcony. Public transport was easy and reliable. Communication with Craig and Neus was as easy as it could be and helpful at all times - they made sure that we had everything we needed. Thank you again, we’d definitely come back!
This was our first overseas sit and what a great sit it was! I received a message from Judith out of the blue to see if we could step in last minute, after they had been let down. Thankfully we were available and got to enjoy rural France with Layla and Jess(the girls) for a month! Communication pre sit was excellent, via a phonecall and then WhatsApp. We arrived two days before Judith and Terry (J+T) left and we were picked up from the station, taken to the supermarket for any bits we may have needed and then Judith cooked us a fantastic meal. As I am vegan, Judith took care to make sure everything was fine for me, and she and Terry had even got milk/butter alternatives for us during our sit which was very nice of them. J+T showed us around the areas best to take the girls and how various things around the house worked etc, so we felt very comfortable in their home and the surrounding area after they left. Their home is in a nice peaceful location and is a very relaxing place to stay. Onto the girls, what a lovely pair of labradors. Very loving and absolutely no bother, they know their routine and are very happy dogs! Jess has a lot of energy and can get excited like a pup sometimes, Layla on the other hand is more measured and does things at a slower pace as she is older. They make a great couple and balance each other out. We had great fun seeing their different personalities shining through and loved spending time fussing or brushing them or just relaxing by the log burner and watching TV. We stayed on for a couple of days after J+T returned and they took us out for a lovely lunch too. This was a very nice sit in a lovely area with two of the sweetest labradors you could meet. Excellent first overseas sit, a big thanks to J+T and the girls! x

The house is situated in nature surrounded buy trees and cactus that had a lovely walk to a secluded beach.
The welcome book provided is very helpful and detailed with everything you need to know and Jules a daily visitor is extremely helpful.
All the Dogs are adorable and need no exercise but we liked to walk one to the main beach and all three to the secluded beach as they really enjoyed it .
The peace and quiet is lovely and I enjoyed not having a car for long periods just walking to the local small supermarket is really easy.
ANSE MARCEL is a very relaxing part of the Island that is very enjoyable for weeks on end.
I wouldn't hesitate to apply again to see the People and Animals again .

I was made so very welcome ! I arrived mid evening and was met by the most interesting young man as the owners had left the animals in his care until I arrived to take the sit , he was very personable showed me around and knew the dogs well. The area is very easy to navigate follow the stream for walks on foot. The collie dogs were very playful and extremely well behaved. The house was festive with its lovely Christmas tree , and in quiet area with parking outside the property.
Ava's home was lovely and the location was great! I especially enjoyed the cool basement and the home office. Their furniture, light fixtures, and decor are so nice! The place was perfectly clean with thoughtful touches. Bayou, Klaus, and Penny are the funnest characters and so well-behaved. When the weather is nice they like to go outside, but for the most part they love to lounge around and be with humans. They quickly become your best friends. Elvira the cat is easy and sweet - shy at first, but she came around. I really appreciate Ava and Gerald's hospitality and I'm grateful for the beautiful accommodations. Sitters: this sit is for dog lovers! You need to be comfortable commanding dogs - stay, crate, down, sit, etc. I haven't stayed with three dogs before, so my first day was a learning curve. This stay may overwhelm the new THS solo traveller, but don't let it stop you from the opportunity to be around well-trained dogs. Bayou, especially, is a service dog and she wants to be of service. Let her! She loves to stay by your side. A solo walk with her is like a trip to the therapist; she's in tune with you in a very deep way. She loves to work. I miss these pets more than I've missed others - they're wonderful companions. My heart is full after this stay. I'll also add: I got a facial at the new Nail Doctor med spa nearby, and I frequented the Dierburgs grocery store - they have fun premade meals and sandwiches in the deli. I also binged on toasted raviolis at one of the Imo's locations nearby. That and the garlic cheese bread. Superb and under $15 for both! Thank you to Ava and Gerald!
