Sara has a cute little row house convenient for exploring Oxford & the Cotswolds. Snug and tidy, it was nice meeting her & Patitas, her cat. We enjoyed several days taking care of their home.
We have absolutely loved our dog sit. Maggie and Alan were the perfect hosts. They were so friendly and made us feel very welcome in their home. Maggie made the most delicious beef casserole for our first evening with them. It was scrummy and lasted two nights. Mmmmm. They explained everything that we needed to know about the house and the dogs, Gunner and Sam. The house and garden are lovely, perfect for sitting out and relaxing. There are National Trust places nearby, also some lovely pubs and restaurants. Now on to the most important thing, the dogs. Oh my goodness. Gunner and Sam are the most adorable dogs. They are so well natured and really loving, enjoying lots of contact and cuddles. They are perfect on their walks and love to explore off the lead. They both have a lovely temperament and we fell in love with them immediately. They are very easy to look after. Gunner has a sore leg but that doesn't detract from the walks at all. Care has to be taken that he doesn't over exert himself as I think Gunner is still a puppy at heart. Sam loves the walks and likes to chase a ball or dummy. We have loved our time here and would definitely come again. In fact, if we weren't away in September, we would be jumping at the chance to dog sit Gunner and Sam again. Tina and Nik xx
This was a dream of a house sit! Helen and Chris were super friendly, welcoming me with homemade soup, a quick getting to know you chat and a tour of their stunning home. Everything was very organised and Helen left great notes on all home/pet related things so I really didn’t need to ask anything while they were away. The cute chooks were a joy to watch and feed! I’m afraid I think I liked them more than they liked me, I had a little chat with them each day! The location is incredible, I woke up to some beautiful sunrises and enjoyed a hot drink on the bench looking at the hills. A friend joined me for a long walk in the Malvern Hills one day and we visited a pub that Chris had recommended. All in all, a wonderful sit that I would highly recommend. Thank you for trusting me with your home and chickens H+C.
This place was so peaceful and very comfortable, I really enjoyed the safe neighbourhood. The cats took a few days to warm up but once they did it was amazing to bond with them. I loved every minute of this sit. Thanks for having the most memorable, gentle, fun and loving cats!
Grace and Justin were very easy to communicate with and provided very detailed instructions regarding caring for Frankie. They ensured we were set up for a successful sit from beginning to end. Frankie is the most extroverted kitty we've ever met! It was so fun creating games to play with her and having her as a close companion throughout our time together. We loved the apartment, which had ample quiet space for us to work. It's also at a greenway trailhead with easy access to leafy walks and the Barton Springs pool. Highly recommend!
Oh my goodness - I LOVED this housesit. The house...the setting....the gardens and flowers....the dock...the lake....and the sweetest beagle I have ever, ever met...plus cats who follow you like dogs usually do when you go on a walk!! Walk down through the gardens to the dock and jump into the lake for swimming and floating; inflated floaties to make floating in the lake rather luxurious. Many different seating areas outside for various views and comfort; it was too hot for my visit, but the firepit and seating area under trees looks like a fabulous place to hang out in cooler weather. The house is gourmet comfortable with lots of windows for continuous views of the lake and land; fabulous open kitchen; fabulous seating for TV viewing; fabulous bedding and bedrooms. Quiet and serene; personally, I didn't leave the property, but there is lots to visit/do in the surrounding area, if one just has to get away from this luxurious place!!! Tuffy, the beagle, is so precious...and unique. I never knew a beagle not to bark, but Tuffy never barks! She is quite shy; she was rescued at eleven years of age and can still be shy and backs away when approached or looked at. It was sweet to learn the ways of interacting that make her comfortable, such as going out the front door ahead of her to take her out and do NOT look back at her!! Simply stand outside pretending to be "busy" looking at the trees and then she follows you out after she is sure you aren't paying any attention to her!! The only challenge is to figure out how to go back to shut the door after her without startling her! She is so very gentle; never aggressive. If she gets startled, she simply runs away. Feeding her the medication is another unique treat - the pill goes in a slice of cheese that is then covered in whipped cream!!!! and set on the floor, without looking at her. She slowly approaches to scarf it up with delight. Mary tells you that Tuffy wanders the neighborhood during the day and won't come when you call her; as others have noted, this can be a bit unsettling the first time Tuffy is nowhere to be seen during the day. Yet, what Mary says is TRUE!!! Tuffy returns!! Usually around dinner time or sunset; she even knows to come down to the dock to find you to let you know she has returned!!!! The cats are mostly outdoor kitties; at least one of them will go on the walks with you and Tuffy the whole way!!! Mary is a delight and easy to communicate with. She is relaxed and easy-going, even when answering my concern the first day that Tuffy was gone all day!!! As Mary says.....relax and enjoy this housesit; all goes well and easy. I almost forgot -- Mary is raising five baby ducks, who seemed a bit more like teenagers during this sit, as they have grown a bit out of the baby stage. Feeding them twice a day was fun; listening to the ducks "talk" to each other....and to me when it was feeding time was another pleasure.
