Julia was kind and welcoming, and made an absolutely delicious vegan cake and coffee for our introductory meeting with her and Megan in their gorgeous and cozy flat. We had some time to get to know Megan and her routine before Julia left, as well as a thorough walk-through and clear instructions for Megan's feeding, meds and supplements, walking schedule, etc. Communication was very easy and quick via Whatsapp (especially appreciated as Megan gave us a bit of a scare and we had to get her to the vet). Megan is a very sweet, loving and funny girl and we loved caring for her. She loves her walks and is very clear which way she wants to go! Restaurants, pharmacies, post office, supermarkets and shops are well within walking distance and Malta has a very good public transport system, so no car is needed. We very much enjoyed our conversations with Julia, who was also kind enough to give us a much-appreciated lift into Valletta at the end of the sit (even though I'm sure she was exhausted from her travels home). Megan will steal your heart and we would happily sit for her again!
We really enjoyed our sit looking after the cats and would definitely recommend it to others. Karen and her partner were really friendly and welcoming and communication was great. The house was lovely and in a great Bristol area. Overall a wonderful house-sit!
We had a wonderful experience house sitting for Julie and Barry. They were incredibly welcoming and hospitable, going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Upon our arrival, they made us a delicious dinner, and they generously allowed us to stay at their home before and after the house sit, making everything very convenient for us. Their home is beautiful, featuring a charming garden that we loved spending time in. The neighborhood is equally lovely, offering pleasant walks and a peaceful atmosphere. Trudeau, their dog, was an absolute delight. He was always happy to see us, eager to go out, and very well-behaved. He travels well on public transport, and we felt confident letting him off-leash in larger parks like Hyde Park and Greenwich Park, not just in his regular area. Overall, we highly recommend house sitting for Julie and Barry and would be delighted to do it again!
We enjoyed our stay in Montpellier. Kevin and Sheila had just moved and we felt they had done a very good job with settling in and preparing for our arrival. Upon our arrival Kevin and Sheila showed us around the city and gave us some great ideas of things to do. We work from home and the internet was great for our needs. They live in an interesting part of town and it's easy to walk into the centre. It was great looking after Mr Darcy and getting to know him better.
We had a good time in Prescott Az. Taking care of Stewie. Stewie had a mishap the night before his people left and he had to go to the Emergency Vet- in spite of some gastrointestinal upset he was a sweet boy and loved exploring the area with us.
You couldn’t ask for a better location for walkable restaurants, cafes and grocery stores. I didn’t explore bars but I’m certain there are plenty around. The loft is in a secure building, comfortable with lots of natural light and open space. Cashew and Brisket are sweet cats and easy to care for. Stacey communicated well during the sit, although not so much before the sit began. My only complaint is that the apartment was not cleaned, nor was the bedding or towels changed before my arrival. When I asked Stacey about it she said “ sorry we changed it last week and it’s typically been fine for our house guests, but I should have let you know.” The bathroom waste basket was full and shower and sinks/ mirrors dirty. I spent a considerable amount of my three day sit cleaning and doing laundry. I was not able to clean the shower as there weren’t any cleaning products available. I used paper towels and glass cleaner to clean what I could. Stacey had extended her vacation and another sitter was arriving after my departure. I cleaned as much as possible to leave the apartment significantly cleaner than when I arrived. My husband and I use this platform on both ends, and as hosts we feel a clean house and fresh linen should be a given. Asking the host if the bedding was changed should not be a question any sitter should need to ask.
