Laura was an absolute sweetheart. The house was spotless when she left. The dogs were happy and fed. The chickens were loved and fed. Communication was clear and we have nothing but positive interactions with Laura and her brother. We can only hope she'll ask us to housesit again.

Haley, Graham and Henry are all amazing individuals! We were lucky enough to spend the first night with Haley before she left on her trip and really enjoyed her company and was super sweet and treated us all to Korean Chicken! This is a great sit! Graham and Henry are great boys. Graham is a nervous fella but once you win him over he calms right down! Henry is a strong and independent man but loves a cuddle on his terms. When you leave the house he pops out to say bye and to make sure he gets his treat 😂 Haley went above and beyond to make sure we were super comfortable on this sit and even left us a little gift! This sit comes with our highest recommendations! Thank you Haley for having us come to stay and creating great memories!!

Pamela
This was an unusual house and pet sit for us in that at the start it coincided with a collision between the 'Beast from the East' and Storm Emma. This meant that the south west experienced code red travel conditions and a phenominal amount of snow. However, there was no way that we would cancel our commitment to Pamela to look after her home and beloved cat 'Jack'. So we took an extra day to travel to Teignmouth from Lancashire and just about managed to finesse arrival on schedule while Pamela travelled to a business event in the USA. Throughout all the planning and travel Pamela kept in close contact and gave us assurances that arrangements were in place for whatever delays we might experience. Her supremely caring approach was very much appreciated. Thereafter the snow cleared and we had the most wonderful time with Jack in Pamela's lovely cosy and warm home. Jack is gorgeous and easy to look after.....going in and out through his cat flap. Pamela's home occupies one wing of a former sea captains house and had everything to make our stay comfortable. Its a short walk into Teignmouth and other delights are easily accessible including; Dawlish, Newton Abbott, Totnes, Broadsands, Budleigh Salterton and Exeter. We experienced lovely Spring temperatures which made all the effort worthwhile. I strongly recommend Pamela and Jack to future Trusted Housesitters. You will enjoy your time here with Jack in a super home and in a great location to enjoy all that this part of Devon has to offer.

Ruth
We loved our stay at Ruth’s retreat in the quiet town of Engelskirchen! They have a really beautiful property with an updated older house surrounded by patio and gardens. I did yoga outside in the mornings and we had almost all of our meals outside by the fish pond; most days we didn’t even want to leave the property :) We were grateful to stay here.
Ruth was very organized and prepared everything for our stay. Both she and her husband were extremely gracious hosts. When we had questions she was always quick to answer and explain.
As for the animals: I have never seen a cat take medicine so eagerly as Jaap. She mostly slept outside but came up to let me know when it was time for food or attention, and gradually warmed up to us over our time at the house. The rabbits are absolutely adorable and each has a distinct character. Nero is the definite ‘boss’ of the trio and very outgoing. Hobbit is an absolute sweetie. Brutus is shy but will slowly be won over by a handful of alfalfa. I think my daughter spent about three hours a day in the rabbit yard sitting near them and taking to them. Within 5 minutes of leaving she said, “I miss Hobbit.” She also very much enjoyed going up to the hen house and collecting eggs every day. The chickens came running up for table scraps and treats. They will swarm around you when you bring food, but none of them were aggressive. Several times we let them out into the yard and they readily came back in when tempted with treats. The animals and garden upkeep are a fair amount of work - fair in both senses of the word. Cleaning out rabbit hutch and chicken coop requires some heavy lifting, but there's such a good system in place for everything - plants, garden, cat, chickens, rabbits - that everything went very smoothly, and it was a small price to pay for staying in such a beautiful property.
The location was also quite convenient - the house is a 5 minute walk from grocery stories, 3 minutes from the bus stop, and 2 stops from the train station with a train to Cologne coming every 30 minutes. They also left us their bikes, and it is a very pleasant 5-10 minute bike ride into town along the bike path. Engelskirchen is small and very relaxed with a walking trail by the river and a few good pubs, ice cream parlors, cafes and restaurants.

Myra
This really was a perfect sit. Luna is one of the sweetest pups I have ever been around. Very low maintenance but still active, loving, and fun. By night 3 she was sleeping right next to me. Myra is a wonderful host, very friendly and a good communicator. Their house was very comfortable, and Myra seemed at all times to want me to have a good sit, and would do whatever was needed to ensure that. I already miss Luna, and I'm very happy to have met Myra and her wonderful family.
