It was going to be a long sit - almost 40 days - and I had never left Nadim for that long. Also, I felt that a couple would be able to manage better with mutual support in a lovely yet small town in Andalucia, Spain. The moment Edith and Richard from Montreal and I met in a video interview, I knew right away they were the ones who would be the best caretakers of my best feline friend and my new apartment. It was in the cards - I got a four-card straight - in aces! Communication was effortless and something I looked forward to. I checked in a few times during the first week to make sure they had everything they needed, and they sent an occasional milestone photograph or video. For example, the day Richard was able to gently brush Nadim without a scratch or hiss - just purrfect contentment! The apartment was spotless when I came back, and they had checked with me the day before if I'd like to have some light supper on the evening I got back. Richard made a beautiful Thai-style coconut soup with fresh cuttle fish and vegetables. Edith had gathered some beautiful wildflowers on their final hike and had them displayed in the kitchen. A new toilet seat had arrived and Richard installed it perfectly. Having agreed to spend one extra night allowed us to visit, get to know each other, and enjoy each other's company. That was probably the highlight of the experience for me - getting to meet these wonderful Canadians with whom I shared more than a few sensibilities spanning economics, politics and music! Book them in advance because they will be in high demand after their relatively recent entrance into Trusted Housesiiters. Thanks so much, Edith and Richard, for taking such good care of Nadim, and for following your hunches, instincts and interests by enjoying Lanjarón and its environs. Know that you'll always have an open invitation to visit, whether to house sit or just relax!

Amy
I enjoyed sitting for Mya and Tuna. Mya warmed up quick and was pretty friendly, Tuna was a bit cranky. They pretty much did their own thing, mainly just laying around the house. I tried to play with them a little, though Tuna didn't seem to care for the wand (I'd have to remember to find the laser pointer).

Amy was nice and tried hard to make a comprehensive welcome guide - which is a nice to-have that is often not put together. I'd sit for the cats again.

Tigi is such a sweet dog and a great companion. Deborah was very friendly and easy to communicate with. The cottage is cosy but parts can be damp in winter. I found the surrounding area to be peaceful and picturesque. Overall I enjoyed my house sit :)

Lovely couple, very organized. The only drawback is that it is a bit far (zone 4) so be sure to budget for transportation (around $250 for one month). There is a fantastic gym within walking distance from the house. The house is neat and clean and the garden is beautiful. I highly recommend this housesit. The trasportation costs equal less than two days at a basic hotel in central London. I would housesit for this couple again. In fact, I like them so much that I have invited them to my house in Mexico!

George and Chip are two of the sweetest dogs. I enjoyed my time cuddling with them and walking around the neighborhood. Shanna's home is lovely and you can't beat that view from their back porch. I would love to sit for them again.

This was a fantastic sit! Janine and Jason have a gorgeous house in La Mesa, with the view of the mountains, located right next to Mt. Helix. I loved everything about it, enjoyed swimming in the pool, and had a very relaxing time there. And Penny the Bernedoodle was such a great companion! She is the sweetest dog ever, we became friends right away, and it was so much fun exploring the neighborhood with her. Penny loves hugs, treats, and naps, and she has her best friend Lucy, who lives right across the street. She was also curious about other dogs we met on our walks. I had a really lovely time. There are so many things to do around the house, the verandas, the pool, the beautiful kitchen, where I loved cooking dinners. It was like a mini-vacation for me. And Janine and Jason and such wonderful and cordial hosts! Thank you for having me! I would do it again in a heartbeat!

It was a real pleasure to look after Daisy - she is a low maintenance cat and affectionate when she gets to know you. The flat is so cosy (one of my favourites I have been to in London!) and easy communication with Rosamond. I'd definitely house sit there again!
