We would highly recommend this house sit. Susan was extremely generous as a host, ensuring we had the makings of an Irish breakfast for our first morning there, and pulling an amazing lasagna out of the freezer as well. She is an outstanding baker as well, her homemade rhubarb crumble was a revelation. You really couldn’t find a warmer host. The dogs are all gorgeous and easy to care for. Cara is readily friendly, and whilst Kelly and Vicky take longer to warm up to you, it is worth the effort. They are all very intelligent, charming companions and we loved their company. As for the cats, they are both quite sweet and affectionate, and easily manageable as they are largely self-sufficient. We greatly enjoyed having fresh eggs from the hens, which were also easy to look after. Susan left clear instructions which made it easy to follow her normal routines. Her beautiful and stylish house was immaculate, and that made it easy to keep clean and tidy. Our room was very comfortable, with an ensuite and a lovey view out the windows to the surrounding trees. The local attractions were really wonderful as well, with Kilkenny’s medieval history and architecture, we learned a lot about the history of the area. We would definitely come back, all the way from Australia.
