Cat Sitters in Holmfirth

We and our cats are very happy and fortunate to have had very experienced Ian and Caroline as our first sitters. We were slightly apprehensive about the whole thing, but from the application process Ian and Caroline were very thorough, organised and professional. They took a very good care of our kitties and the house. They respected our house rules and we returned to our home looking clean and tidy.

We were extremely happy with Kerry &James, they took such great care of Willow and Cooper. Lovely long walks and plenty of cuddles too. They kept us updated during the housesit, sending photos of the dogs on walks. We would not hesitate asking them to look after our dogs again in the future.

Liz and her son looked after my cat, Sushi, for two nights in April 2024 while I was on a ship and mostly unavailable. I got regular updates on how Sushi was going, the house was left spotless, and Sushi was happy and clearly well looked-after when I got back. Liz even left us some lovely gifts from the UK and we all had dinner together on my return. Liz and her son are both very open, friendly and communicative, and I'd have no second thoughts about having them come and sit again.

It was a pleasure to welcome Lynn and Dave back to Ardlomond. They were particularly helpful on this occasion in accommodating a split house sit with a gap of a few days in the middle. The dogs seemed to enjoy having them back and were taken on adventures and car journeys to new places. It was good that Lynn and Dave had good weather and were able to enjoy exploring Scotland at its best. We would be delighted to invite Lynn and Dave to sit again and would certainly continue to recommend then as house sitters without reservation.

Martha and Rob are the perfect pet and house sitters! They’re genuinely the nicest people you’ll ever meet! The second we connected in the app, we hit it off! Atlas loved them both!! (And misses them now they’re gone). We stayed in touch a lot throughout, and the house was spotless! We’re very very grateful that we were able to leave Atlas and our place with full confidence in Martha and Rob! 100% recommend in a heartbeat! Thank you both very much!!

So Syd had the honour of being my very first sitter for my new home and pet, and I felt totally at ease leaving everything in his hands. I was able to meet up with him the evening before so I could show him the ropes, and he seemed to get into the routine pretty easily, as my cat Jamon is a very lovable and easy cat to care for. Syd was also very aware of the fact he needed a car for the duration of the sit, so I was glad he had no issues renting a car. He kept me up to date with any antics my cat was up to, and I am eternally grateful for all the care he provided. He even helped keep an eye on the germinating cat grass I had planted the day before. I would recommend Syd to anyone thinking about letting him into their home. Gracias Syd!!

This was our second time having Cass sit for Puffin and Squirrel - we’re so glad she was able to come back again. Cass sent regular updates and was very communicative about her arrival and departure plans. The cats were very comfortable with her and she left the house in such great shape! Would welcome her back anytime.

This is the second time Ellie and Max have sat for us - we invited them back personally based on a fantastic experience first time round. They are reliable, look after our house and pets perfectly and go above and beyond!

Poppy and David were clearly very experienced with animals and even our pickiest pet took to them immediately! We also got some awesome action shot photos of the pets while we were gone. Both authentic and kind people, we definitely recommend them for a sit!

Hugh is an extremely personable and friendly young man. We booked him to do a 4 weeks sit for our elderly Jack Russell Susie. Hugh and Susie bonded immediately, it was a pleasure to see them together. Sadly Susie became very ill after a couple of days, we were in Singapore by this time, Hugh took her to the emergency vet 15 miles away and managed to contact us at Singapore Airport and explain what had happened. We were able to speak to the vet who advised that her lungs had filled with fluid and she had been placed in an oxygen tent, the prognosis was not good. Within a further half hour we were advised by the vet that Susie had passed away. We asked Hugh if he would complete the 4 weeks sit for us which he kindly agreed to do and did an excellent job looking after our house, leaving it in a very clean and tidy condition. It was obviously traumatic for Hugh to have to respond to Susie's acute illness, but he handled the crisis very well indeed. We would highly recommend Hugh for anyone looking for a reliable, kind and competent person to look after your pet(s) and your home. Ann and Andrew
