Had a great time looking after Lola for a few days! She was such a sweet little dog. Maggie was great with communicating before and during the sit and the house was in a fantastic location in Valencia! Would happily come back and sit again.
Valarie & Her Family (pets included) have carved a special place in my heart! Fix-Family Dog He is The Best Dog! Ahhh! I just fell in love with him. He is a fierce protector of the family and takes his job very seriously! He keeps the peace between the young kitten (boo boo kitty is the nickname I deemed the younger cat) and the older cat Pax who is very relaxed and does well if you just follow the daily routine and make water, food and snacks available (snacks every now and then). Also be able to listen at the door for Pax as outside time is important and there are gentle reminders as purrs when outside time is done. Valarie is a treasure. She knows how she wants things done and is thorough in walking you through the process, which is empowering because you know how to assist her with everything so that she'll be happy upon return. I very much enjoyed the sit, the area is fabulous and the pets are a God send. Blessings, Love & Peace to the entire family!
Pet sitting Charlie for Alissa is super simple. He's very shy and hides most of the time in the hall closet or under the bed. But once he warms up to you, he will come out to interact with you more. Especially if you are quiet. He has a very sweet demeanor. Charlie has a few supplements & a medication to mix into his food, but it's very easy to do. He enjoys being brushed before and while he's eating. In fact, he may sweetly meow to remind you if you forget to brush him. Alissa & Ray's home is comfortable and conveniently located. The bike/walking path is just behind their house across the railroad tracks and within a 10 to 15-minute walking distance to the Ashland Food Co-op and downtown. The living room was one of my favorite rooms in the house. Charlie and I would sit by the gas-lit fireplace, listen to music on the Bluetooth speakers, and watch the wild birds flock around the bird feeders that Ray has installed outside the livingroom windows. There is also a beautiful view of Grizzly Peak. There are Ring security cameras at the front and side door entrances of the home as well as inside the home. Alissa & Ray kindly obliged when I requested that the interior cameras be turned off for my privacy. The home is located on a very quiet, dead-end street, and I felt safe the entire length of my stay. There are not many options for parking as there is a yellow no-parking zone directly in front of the house to accommodate a fire hydrant and the neighborhood mailboxes. But the neighbors next door didn't seem to mind me parking my car in front of their house. And I felt assured that my vehicle was safe. Overall, I enjoyed my stay with Charlie. He is a sweetheart, the home is safe & comfortable, and Alissa is highly communicative and kind. This would be a great sit for a quiet person who enjoys a serene space.
Most enjoyable housesit. Calinou was a super super cat, great character and so easygoing. Overdays, he mostly spends his time in his garden and sleeps upstairs at night. He has a built in alarm clock to come and ask for his food :-)) Rosemonde and Partick made me feel most at home in their cosy house, nicely decorated with little souvenirs from all over the world, waaw, real globetrotters. It was very easy to communicate with before, during and after my stay. They welcomed me with a delicious healthy meal and Patrick gave a quick tour to discover the city. I highly recommend sitting for Calinou and enjoy Paris.
Beautiful home in a beautiful neighborhood. Very friendly and kind hosts and a cute Rosie. I stayed during the weekend but I can see Rosie would be an awesome easy dog while working remotely. She won’t make a peep! Thank you, Terry and Nina!
I dropped by for a handover with Honor the day before the sit when she was in the middle of having some decorating done. The old school house is such a lovely, quirky historic building. One end of the house abuts the lane with gardens either side and the kitchen in the middle. The BnB is at the far end and the garden wraps around it. In case you were wondering, yes Honor's place is the whole building and the setting overlooking the church is timeless and magical. The lane has little traffic as it leads to the manor house and there are just a handful of other houses so there's no noise to keep you awake but be prepared to be woken very early by the light in summer as there are no curtains. If you like a soft towel I recommend you take your own. Honor said I could help myself if I picked up the weekly veg box from Frome and she left flowers from the garden which was a lovely touch. I was there when the Glastonbury festival was on and was keen to watch it on TV, but to feel comfortable first I needed to tidy up and clear some space. When I arrived on Friday the decorator and cleaner were there. On Saturday the first BnB couple arrived and I was conscious that playing with Max in the garden might disturb them. On Sunday the cleaner came to use the laundry and prepare the BnB for the guests arriving on Monday and it was a surprise when they turned up before 9 am for the key. I think it's fair to say it was a busier than usual house sitting experience. Thankfully there were no emergencies as Honor only had a phone signal twice a day and didn't leave a welcome guide or any notes for me. What really made this sit were Max and Elsie. Max may be blind but he's a sweet, happy, cuddly cockapoo. He loves carrying his ball around and if you bounce it for him he'll follow the sound and sniff it out. I've never met a dog before who prances quite like he does, there's no other word for it, but I couldn't persuade him to walk down the lane with me so we stayed in the garden and played. Elsie the feral cat is quite tame now. I think she even knows her name. She still lives outside but comes for food, likes company and hangs around sunbathing on the shed roof. She was purry and chatty and happy to be stroked and I think she knows she's landed on her feet with Honor. Although there were lots of comings and goings, on the whole this was a great sit. The highlight was definitively the beautiful location and getting to share it with Max and Elsie who were a joy to look after and wonderful company.
