Perfect sit! It was so nice it was very difficult to leave. From the start the communication with Katie was very easy. It all happened very quickly in our case and what Monday was a video chat, Saturday was already us enjoying Stanley’s company. Katie has been very accommodating with our arrival (and departure), nothing seemed a problem. House is beautiful comfortable cozy space for a family. The garden is so pretty and well looked after and full of sunshine on a nice summer day. Our rooms were ready for us, space for our things and so on it was very easy to feel at home right away. To rate Stanley he would get 11 out of 10. We loved him from his first dinner dance. He was so easy to look after. He was friendly with the children and friendly with other dogs. Easy off the lead and so nice to cuddle. He has so much enthusiasm to play fetch, even after hours long walk he still wanted to play. But he was evenly calm and spent lots of time chilling around the house/garden. He was always happy to see us and be near us. We really had a lovely time in Farnham and would be happy to come again to watch Stan. Only downside to this all was the fact we didn’t get to meet Katie and her family in person due to our and theirs logistics. 5 stars. Thank you Katie thank you Stanley for the lovely experience 😍
What a perfect sit this was! My partner and I fell head over heels for Moriah’s 2 sweet pups and cuddly cat! She was super communicative and easy to chat with. Our room was squeaky clean and she even let us play her video games! Moriah’s place is cozy and comfortable and she has awesome art on the walls we loved checking out. Great central location, too! Numair and Rory could not have had better, sweeter dispositions. All the animals were super low maintenance and just a pure delight to be around. The dogs were happy cuddling with us or playing and didn’t really need anything else! Calcifer was super affectionate and easy to love (although he will try and playfully bat things off counters so just be aware!) We couldn’t have asked for sweeter, easier animals to care for. Thanks so much for having us!
I cannot overstate how much I recommend this sit. Imagine that each of these five thumbs has a little gold star stuck on the end. It's genuinely that good. First: Andrea and Marta's place is extraordinary. It's spacious, secure, and I didn't know apartment buildings could be this quiet. The spare bedroom/office is compact but perfectly set up for working from home. The living/dining/kitchen space is huge, comfortable, full of gadgets, and perhaps most importantly: very easy to clean, because boy do these cats make a mess while eating. Second: the cats are a joy. Micia, the pinky-peachy one, is perfectly independent. I wouldn't call her stand-offish, but she will accept scritches and even the occasional belly rub exclusively on her own terms. The only thing she needs you here for is for feeding at the indicated times, and to turn the tap on so she can have a drink literally any time you go to the bathroom. She will chirrup at you until you learn what is expected of you. This is excellent behaviour. Minù, the stripey grey one, will pretend to be like her sister for at least 12 hours before she turns into an adorable cling-beast. Do you like your cats on your lap, on your computer keyboard, burrowing under the covers of your bed? She's the one for you. (Don't worry, if you genuinely need to get some work done, she has her own little shelf next to the computer station, and she'll get the idea if you just scoop her up there out of your way). She will mostly just purr like a tiny engine when she is curled up with you. Also excellent behaviour. You will want to clean up after them regularly – their corner of the kitchen does need a wipe down every day or two, and I found it useful to leave the vacuum plugged in next to the bathroom to pick up stray litter. I also had to deal with what I can best describe as a You're Not My Real Dad protest poop, pointedly positioned _right next_ to the litter tray, before my presence was accepted. But what's a bit of cleaning? It's a small price to pay for the delight of looking after these two personalities. Oh, and finally: Dalston is great, with nearly every kind of food available within a 15 minute walk. A great location to enjoy Hackney from.
We had such a lovely time at Milly and Brenda’s wonderful and characterful 400 year old home. The beauty of the surroundings can not be understated, with a spectacular view of the river and valley and hills right from the house and beautiful walks all around. Piti the cat is a wonderful old girl who is very sweet and friendly as long as you respect her physical boundaries. And the 7 tortoises, what can we say, it was a pleasure to be with such interesting and ancient species. Caring for them was straight forward and enjoyable as they wound down for the year. Feeding the badgers and birds daily was a pleasure. You feel as if you’re living in a fairytale land almost, full of beautiful old cottages, forests and wildlife. The house is super cosy with superb log burner and very good central heating too. We did have some Wi-Fi struggles working from home but it seems this might have been due to local ongoing works. Milly and Brenda are such open hearted hosts, welcoming us a night early and having us stay on after their arrival too. Beautiful and eclectic garden that we are sure would be wonderful in summer, and fresh veg offered generously from the veg patch too! We recommend this sit if we’re not already there again!
I thoroughly enjoyed house sitting for Michale and Caitlin. Their home was comfortable and the dogs and cats were the sweetest!
