Jenn was great. Took wonderful care of the two dogs and was communicative of any questions1
Lari is what we consider to be a "platinum quality, 5 star+ sitter"; mature, very responsible, caring and communicative. We came home to a relaxed, happy cat and a very clean house. We really felt that Lari and Lacey cared for our pet, Sabrina, with some real affection. She handle a small pet problem with care and timeliness as well. We unequivocally recommend Lari and Lacey for your sit...if you are lucky enough to get them. After engaging many good sitters over the years, Lari and Lacey were seriously the absolute best.
Another amazing time having Dede watch our kittens! She is such a lovely person, our cats adore her, she keeps our house super clean, and we hope she’ll be able to sit for us again!!
Just the nicest people you can meet, really interesting couple, as well as such an awesome home. The location is beautiful and unique, with so many local hikes with breathtaking views. The cats are friendly and chatty, I will miss our cat chats! Would highly recommend :)
Liz and Steve are a very open and friendly couple who share their beautiful home with their 5 cats (well, one is a visitor who is given the same 5-star treatment as the 4 they own!). The communication from Liz prior to the sit was excellent, and she also provided a very full Welcome Pack, and some videos which meant that I had very few questions to ask on arrival. Each of the cats has a different personality, and their individual likes/dislikes and feeding habits were set out clearly so I found it easy to get into their daily routines. The obvious boss is Big Boy, a large tabby to whom the others will give a wide berth, and if there was a Cat Spat, he was usually involved but he is a softie at heart, and on his own terms will deign to let you give him a head 'scruddle' (my new word of the month - thanks, Liz!). He loves his food and once his bowl was empty, he would go outside and squeeze his not inconsiderable frame through the cat flap in an attempt to eat the food of his housemates - until I got wise to him! Ditsy Doo is a gentle girl who was a little nervous and likes to keep herself to herself quite a bit; her favourite spot is in the cosy airing cupboard but she'll let you know when she's hungry! Her daughter, Fifi Foo, is a very talkative girl; she took a little longer to feel comfortable around me but enjoys her sleeps in her radiator cradle. Ditsy's son, Bertie Boo is a friendly chap who spent most evenings curled up next to me on the settee, or sitting with me on the garden bench. To say that he loves is food is a significant understatement - he is demand-fed and can fit in up to 6 packets of food a day (but is not over-weight). He prefers not to to enter the house via the cat flap but will sit and stare at you through the patio window with baleful eyes until you let him in! The little black cat (name unknown to Liz and Steve) is very friendly, likes a lot of fuss and is happy to join the queue with the others at feeding times. (I called him/her VC as the Visiting Cat but also because s/he seemed braver than the others when in the vicinity of Big Boy!). If you love cats, a very comfy bed, gardens/gardening, watching and listening to birds (and playing the piano!) this is the sit for you :). Highly recommended, I would definitely do another sit there, Thank you, Liz and Steve, it was a pleasure to meet you all, and thank you for entrusting me with the care of your kitty crew :) Annie
We loved this house sit and taking care of Roxy. Rick & Chrys have a beautiful home in a lovely area of Worcester. It was a great neighborhood for walking and very close to grocery stores, restaurants, and anything else you might need. They sent us a document prior to the sit that was super detailed, clear, and helpful. This was a two month sit and they ensured the house was well-stocked and we had everything we needed. Onto the best part… Roxy! She was a bit shy the first couple days but once she warmed up she was the sweetest lap kitty. She provided great company and kept us so entertained with her antics. We really enjoyed this sit and would be more than happy to return anytime!
On Feb. 8, I visited Giulia's apartment to meet. She seemed happy and we made an agreement via THS the following day; Feb. 9. Giulia neglected to provide the booklet guide and on Mar. 1, she decided to cancel 13 days prior to the agreement via text message because she found a friend to do the sit instead. I explained to her that I turned down other favourable house sit offers since our agreement and this cancelation would terribly affect my livelihood. After this stressful event and conversing via text she finally decided to keep the agreement but suggested I find an alternative, if possible. I initiated to ask well in advance what time she wanted me to arrive for the sit on Mar. 14 and she exclaimed 3pm is ok, because she planned to leave her apartment around 5pm.(proof of SMS message). I suggested to arrive earlier at 2pm or earlier but she insisted that she was busy with the hair salon appointment so I got the impression, she didn't want me early. Part of the agreement was that she would pick me up at the train station or call an Uber but on the day of the sit, she told me to pay for a taxi. Unfortunately, due to the short notice and with my heavy luggage, I arrived before 4pm and she yelled at me over the phone but then in person told me she was just stressed and wasn't upset with me, after all. She didn't apologize for her poor behaviour. She communicated to me she had to leave her apartment around 5pm. I remained professional in my dealings with Giulia as well as communicated to her via WhatsApp almost every day during her trip as well as sent updated photos of her cats and her apartment because she worries a lot. Giulia told me that when she returned home, she was pleased to see the cats were calm and relaxed and thanked me for that. Again, I was disappointed that she couldn't drive me to the train station upon her return home because she was "busy". I continued to remain professional even though I felt disrespected. After I left, I received hostile voicemails from Giulia accusing me of breaking her laundry cloths rack despite the fact she said she used a hammer to try to reassemble it and you can actually hear the action of her hammering the item in the voicemail. I have images of her apartment clean, organized and tidy before I left as I cleaned her entire apartment twice for the short duration of the sit; 15 days; I vacuumed twice, washed all the windows, ensuite and kitchen counters and surfaces, laundry, bedding, etc. I left her apartment as it was when I arrived, yet she accused me of not cleaning up at all and that her patio keys were missing. Giulia said I could eat whatever in the fridge and then complained that the food, sweets, alcohol was gone (I don't even drink alcohol). She also complained about the outdoor pot plants dry after telling me no plants needed attention as it rained almost every day. She said I could have company over as long as I clean up after myself. The last phone call I received from Giulia was hostile and abusive yet I still remained professional, calm, collected despite her negative energy. In my opinion, Giulia's review of my performance with this sit is misleading, unfair and false. Her actions and behaviour shown towards me were self-absorbed, selfish, inconsiderate, unthoughtful, ignorant, unappreciative, unrealistic high standards, wishy-washy, has trust issues (even when I showed integrity) and difficulty managing her own stress and as a result, may take it out on those around her. This is my first poor experience with sitting. I have images, audio VM, SMS text, WhatsApp messages as proof of my facts, if you have questions.
This was such an incredible experience for us and were already missing Zozo, Seni, and Orion. Jessica and her family are incredible people, very caring neighbors and members of their community. It was an absolute pleasure to care for their sweet pets and gorgeous home located within walking distance of some incredible trails at the foot of Mt. Elden where we would take the pups for walks daily. Jessica was so accommodating and made us feel right at home from beginning up to the day they came home. If you have the chance to do a house sit for them do yourself a big favor and take it! Thank you so much and we hope to cross paths again one day 🙏🏼
I echo what others have said. Pre sit communication with both Juliet and Jamie was excellent. Juliet and Jamie were great hosts, inviting us for dinner the evening before they left for a short break. The house and grounds are beautiful, location perfect for any length of walk and the dogs are delightful. Lots of dog snuggles on the sofa due to some unseasonal weather. Poppy was always keen to take a walk with a slight bit of reluctance from Lily. Jamie kindly prepared the fresh cooked meals for the dogs before they left. Easy access to Cheltenham which is a bonus. Excellent sit would thoroughly recommend.
