A solid, no-frills sit with a fun cat! Delcia & Sean were kind hosts and even helped with groceries, which was much appreciated. And oh wow Pepper—he is truly the Energizer Bunny of cats! Taking him on “walks” definitely helped burn off his energy and he was super open to interactive play. While I would recommend this sit to locals without hesitation, I would highly recommend that travelers/remote workers vet the apartment’s amenities at a deeper level. The Internet was mostly stable via Ethernet but did need to be reset a few times. At the time of this sit, the washer hadn’t been fixed yet (not a huge problem personally but noting for future sitters) and the toilet had an ongoing issue that led to it not functioning (luckily the landlord was able to fix it but still pretty rough). Ultimately the little things add up, and there were some days where accumulating inconveniences ate into my time a bit too much. With that being said, it was a solid three-star experience for me, and I would still recommend the sit with a caveat for travelers to go over the current state of amenities upfront, what’s available/what’s not, what’s working/what’s not, etc.
Brilliant location and lovely apartment but the best part of all was looking after Gloudie and Gaston. Gloudie was the sweetest and easiest dog to care for and adored her walks to the pub! Gaston, the cat loved to hide under the bed in the morning but had mad moments playing with her toys, especially her laser torch, such fun to watch. Thank you Charlotte and Andreas for trusting us to care for your lovely pets. We would love to come back!
The short description is that we loved everything about this sit, didn't want it to end, and will come rushing back at anytime if ever needed. We can't say enough good things about Stuart, Denise, Tom and their home. If you get the chance, grab it! Now, for those who want more details: Denise and Stuart were the most wonderful and kind hosts. We spent 7 weeks in their beautiful home, loving waking up surrounded by the stunning mountain paradise everyday. So much so, that we have prolonged our stay in the area. If you like incredible views, historical architecture, sizzling culture, delicious food, warm climate and extremely reasonable prices, then you will love Granada and it's surroundings. We were welcomed by Denise and Stuart with open arms, delicious food (seeing us through several days) and, the biggest, warmest smiles you could imagine. Within a few minutes they felt like long lost family and the star of the show, our boy Tom, had claimed us as his own, demanding cuddles and belly rubs at all times. Oh Tom, how we will miss you! We are seriously considering applying for a "Tom-time-share". Is that a thing? - With no disrespect to all the other cute fluffy cats out there, the simple fact is that Tom is THE CUTEST AND FLUFFIEST! There, now you know. On the practical level, all instructions were clear and simple to follow right from the start. Denise and Stuart are true pros at integrating sitters in no time, yet with calm and ease. If we ever needed anything, a helpful answer was just a couple of minutes away, making us feel secure at all times. By now you might understand that Tom is simply a dream! There are no other words to describe this unique dog/human soul wrapped up in the fluffiest cat body there is. He is the easiest cat to take care of. He loves a daily sleep and feed routine, and a clean litter. He is very verbal and clear about his needs: Feed me, cuddle me, let me out, cuddle me, let me in, cuddle me, clean my litter, and oh, cuddle me, please. He loves company and is very "helpful" in all tasks ;) Yet, if you set boundaries he respects them and won't repeat the pattern. Such a magical creature! Dear Denise and Stuart, thank you so much for letting us into your home, your hearts and for completely hypnotising us with Mr. Tom. Thank you <3
I spent a lovely week looking after Billie and Belle while Gavin and Lindsey were on holiday. Gavin and Lindsey were incredibly communicative, responsive, and the dogs were a delight to look after! Beaconsfield is a great town and I thoroughly enjoyed my time staying there :)
I really enjoyed staying here. Pepsi is a little sweetheart, with a great mix of playfull and downright hillarious, and affectionate. She really loves having people around! The house was comfortable, quiet and relaxing. Tatiana and her partner are lovely. I would stay again. ^_^
The O'Neill's are very friendly and accommodating. Donna drove me around town and showed me the beach before they left. Their home is delightful, I especially loved the front porch and all the garden art. Winnie, Ruba and Frankie were easy to care for and Winnie is a love bug! I would definitely sit for them again.
