Dog Sitters in Independent Hill, VA

Jean and Frank were fabulous pet/house sitters. They sent us frequent photos of the dogs, they were gracious about administering several meds as our dogs are older, and they took meticulous care of our home. We communicated frequently and I knew that Baily and Daisy were in good hands. I highly recommend them as pet/house sitters. They might come with their own dog, Leo, who fit right in and as a bigger dog, was kind and gentle with ours. We arrived home to a very clean house. Carol is a fantastic housesitter! We arrived home from our travels to an immaculate home and four very happy kitties. We would have no hesitation in recommending her and hope that one day she’ll return to housesit for us again.

Amy and Dave were excellent sitters for our pets and home. They sent plenty of updates and we could tell our pets were happy and comfortable in their care. Our house was professionally cleaned right before their arrival, and when we returned after their stay, it was just as clean, if not cleaner. We would be happy to have them sit for us again!

As luck would have it, Victoria’s dates for a yoga teacher training at a studio within walking distance of our house overlapped with our time away. She clearly communicated her travel plans in advance. We didn’t think we’d have a chance to meet but, as luck would have it again, we ended up with some overlap that allowed us to go over things before our departure. We received regular photo updates of our boys during her stay, and Beans greeted us at the door upon our return (a good indicator that he liked his sitter). She even continued integrating Frank and Beans while we were away, as they are still learning to cohabitate, which went above our expectations for the sit.

Andra and her family were wonderful sitters for Lucy, my Frenchy who’s a bit handicapped. Andra sent me frequent updates and photos of Lucy that made me realize she was having the time of her life—getting out in her dog stroller, eating in the backyard of the Mexican restaurant that always gives her milk bones, and playing in the backyard. Plus, Andra monitored my mail for me and alerted me to anything that looked important. I can’t say enough good things about her and her family—they even left me some excellent food and a nice bottle of wine! Their past experience with caring for all kinds of dogs is quite obvious and came through from the first time they met Lucy. Plus my apartment was very well cared for. I’d let them sit for Lucy any time. I honestly didn’t worry about a thing with them in my home!

Sabrina and Katrina were extremely professional throughout the entire housesitting process. We were pleased to receive one or two updates daily with photos of our boys at home and on walks, with their new packmate Shadow, who joined the ladies on this housesit. We appreciated that they were flexible with arrival and departure times so that we could leave and arrive home with peace of mind knowing that our dogs had been walked and fed on our travel days. Claudia was amazing! She did daily walks with our boys and kept us up to date with daily messages and pictures. The house was clean when we got home which was great after a long trip. I would highly recommend her for any future sits.

Danny was great with both our dogs and very self sufficient. He was very accommodating to our needs and an excellent communicator. He really cared about our timid dog and gave us advice as a former dog owner himself.

Evelin was enthusiastic, sweet and wonderful. It felt like a family member moved in who loves our dog just like us.

Came home to a very happy pet and organized home. Michael was an excellent pet sitter for my cat hunter. He was communicative throughout the trip sending lots of pictures and even handling a complete replacement of my washer/dryer unit in my apartment! He also made sure I had fresh sheets and a clean place as soon as I arrived. And also picked up my packages and mail while I was away. I plan to keep in touch and use him again for future pet sits!

Alyssa took care of my cat Millie and watered my plants for almost three weeks. She communicated with me daily and texted photos of Millie looking content (and not missing me at all). When I returned home, my home was neat, the towels washed, and the bed made up with clean sheets. It was easy to work with Alyssa. She is trustworthy and responsible, and I highly recommend her. I would invite her to sit for me again in a heartbeat.

We cannot say enough good things about Rieman and Karin. What incredible guests they were -- so conscientious about our home, tidy beyond any expectation, and so thoughtful about every little thing. Whether it was asking for permission to have family members over (of course!), taking our youngest dog on seemingly never-ending hikes, ensuring to give our 13-year-old pup medicine twice a day, or sending us daily pictures of the house and dogs, Rieman and Karin absolutely KNOCKED IT out of the park. The only drawback to having Rieman and Karin here for 2 weeks while we traveled is that our dogs now seem to be in a depressive funk, since their most favorite people left. If you're considering Rieman and Karin for a sit, you should have absolute confidence in them. Please send me a note directly if I can provide any further praise (which they fully merit).
