We consider Pampered Pet Resort to be our pets’ 2nd home. We have been customers for longer than I can remember - at least 10 years. Our dog LOVES being boarded here - she is easily frightened by new people and places but never here! Our cat used to resist getting in his carrier but now walks right in, knowing where he is headed. The few times they have gotten sick, we have been reimbursed for vet costs - quickly and agreeably. We appreciate this small business and feel so fortunate that we found them!
Everyone at the Pampered Pet Resort is so kind! They treated my pup as if he was their own pet. Every morning when I would drop him off for daycare he would run towards the back tail wagging and ready for a fun day of play. The entire team is always so nice and makes sure to tell you how your pups day was at pick up. I recommend the Pampered Pet to anyone looking to board their fur baby or looking for a good, safe daycare option. They are careful to make sure and pair dogs together based on size and behavior. Thank you Stephanie and the team for taking such good care of my Graham! If I am ever living in the Birmingham area again we will for sure be back.
Pampered Pet Resort is THE best place for the care of our dogs! No one has ever done it better! Our dogs actually get excited when we pull up in the parking lot! The staff is super friendly and really care for all the “guests” like they were their own! This is the best place I have ever found for boarding our dogs- both short and long time!
I have had very good experiences with Pampered Pets! I appreciate their good care.
My doggo gets great care every time we go out of town. Make sure your pet's records are up to date! Prices are reasoable.
This place is absolutely amazing and I will never leave my sweet kitty anywhere else to board him! I am a nervous cat mom and was very unsure when I dropped him off for the first time earlier this week. They took such good care of my sweet boy! My husband even received pictures of him during his exercise time. The staff is super friendly and you can tell they are all animal lovers! The cost is very affordable as well. Highly recommend!!
What are you looking for in a pet sitter? Well, I am looking at my fur babies reaction when I check them in as well as after I've picked them up. I have 1 cat & 1 nervous nelly dog. So while together, they were separated and apart during their stay. When I dropped off, they were met with good, chill & loving vibes. It was like that 1st time at your child's DayCare when you realized the kid was happy and you need not worry anymore. This was that same vibe. And now I no longer worry when they need to be boarded. Thank You Ladies!
My dog Henry gets so excited when we’re pulling up in the parking lot and comes back so happy every time I board him here. That’s how you know the staff is the best! It’s such a relief knowing he has a place like Pampered Pet where he’s in the best hands and always has fun. The few times I’ve done daycare he’s come back happy and pretty exhausted as well. I can’t recommend highly enough - even if you live in Birmingham city limits it’s worth the ~20 minute drive to bring your pup here.
Stephanie and her staff are fantastic. She cares for every dog like they are her own. The facility is super clean and very well organized. They have both an indoor and outdoor play area so your dog doesn't have to just sit in a kennel all day. I have used this service several times and always very pleased. One of the best things is they will give you a tour of their facility ANYTIME. You don't have to schedule an appointment to see this wonderful place. I drive from across town to use PPR because when I drop my dog off then I don't have to stress about her being taken care of properly. Peace of mind is priceless.
I am surprised to see that some reviewers have said that the staff is rude, because I have always had good interactions with them! They are always courteous to my family. If I have to leave a message, they are very good about calling me back to schedule my appointment. My dog has been going here for YEARS while we are on vacation. Once my dog needed veterinary care, and the resort contacted the vet, took him, and gave him all the extra attention he needed while we were out of town. My dog always seems happy and well cared for, so we will continuing to use the Pampered Pet for life.
I took my 2 dogs to Camp Scotty for the night the people are so caring and attentive to our puppies they took them for walks outside loved on them. There bowl of water got tipped over but the girl told me that the bed wet put in a plastic bag for she even offered to wash it. I am moving out of state but you recommend Camp Scotty
Visited on 12/10/24 and used the self dog wash. Shout out to all of the friendly staff there today. This was my first time to use the self wash. The staff explained how to use the equipment and were so nice answering all of my many questions. Great experience!🐾 …
Our 85 lb dog is always so excited and happy when he realizes where he is when we drop him off, and he is always happy and energetic when we pick him up (and he is often pooped out from his play time too!) The staff is great and very attentive.
My poodle stayed 2 days. Place is run down and smells. My dog was suppose to have bath but was smelly and full of fleas when I picked him up. My baby has never had fleas and has never worn a flea collar. Had to give my dog a bath when he got home to relieve him of itching and bad smell. Should have listened to my 11 year old and not let him stay. Never again
The staff is very friendly and they take good care of our dog. Thank you for the doggy daycare services you offer.
Fantastic experience. Meghan did a great job grooming our golden. The absolutely nicest and attentive staff!
I haven't had my dog in daycare yet but I am taking the obedience class and the leader is so good. He knows his stuff from beginner training to advanced. I would highly recommend it. My neighbor told me about camp Scotty because her dog attends 2-3 times a week and she also boards her dog when traveling
SELF-SERVE DOG BATH - Wonderful experience; and, so worth the $10 I spent to have that quality time with my best friend. The wash basins are the right height (no leaning over and killing your back), water, soap and deodorizer provided. It was Diesel's first experience, the attendant helped me get him into the basin, and once the warm water hit him, he thoroughly enjoyed it.
Our dog Beau attends daycare here and he spends the night in boarding when we go out of town. Not only does he have a fabulous time during every visit, he LOVES all the staff. Everyone at Camp Scotty is kind and friendly but, most of all, they love and treat our dog like their own.
I was happy with boarding our dog until the last time. We boarded him fro Thursday till Sunday and took advantage of the kennel tha had a webcam. When we watched our dog on the webcam, we noticed that he was sleeping on the floor far away from the bed we provided. My wife grew concerned but I thought nothing of it. Throughout the whole stay from Thursday till Sunday, we saw hat the dog never sent to his bed. When the employee returned the bed to us , the bed was soatking wet. When I say soaking wet, I mean it was literally dripping with water. The employee said, "don't worry, it's only water. Your dog knocked over the water.". When we got home, the trunk tray was filled with water, the whole car was stinking . It took us 4 washed to get rid of the smell fron the car. Now, I don't mind the washing , or even the smell. My beef here is that the bed was soaking wet the entire 4 days the dog was there. No one stopped to think that maybe they put the bed aside and use the camp scotty cot instead? If the bed was still soaking wet after 4 days, the water must have remained on the floor. No one though to maybe mop it up?? I sent an email to Camp Scotty that evening describing the situation and asking for an explanation. I have yet to hear back from them. I know that dogs are dogs and they do knock over water bowls etc. But it would have been obvious that the kennel was drenched in water. Yet, nothing was done in the 4 days that my dog stayed there. NEVER AGAIN.
Camp Bow Wow is amazing! I love how friendly the staff is! You can tell they genuinely love what they are doing. And the dogs are never alone, they always have a counselor in the yard with them! Being able to watch my pup on live cam and see how happy she is, is fantastic! Based on how happy she is in live cam, and when I pick her up, I know Summer agrees that Camp Bow Wow is AWESOME!
Camp Bow Wow has been our saving grace for our dog Reggie across multiple states and locations. We were pumped when the Hoover location opened and have been taking our dog ever since. They know her when we call and can’t wait to have her stay. They love her and we know she is being taken care of when we are out of town. The facilities are clean, the staff is welcoming, and they always share a little bit about her stay when we pick her up. I highly recommend!
My dog is special in all sorts of ways. She loves other animals, but is hesitant around humans. This is because we had a rough encounter with some maintenance workers at an apartment complex we lived at. I enrolled my dog for the socialization around other dogs and people. After a few weeks, I have noticed a difference in her. She LOVES her camp days. I am so grateful they are here and treat her with kindness and love, and she gets her full day of play. The employees have great customer service and you can tell they truly care about the dogs that attend. They also have cameras you can watch the dogs play. Would give more stars if I can.
Great staff! Camp Bow Wow is clean, organized and smells good - a rarity for any dog day care and speaks to the quality of the business. They are engaging and always happy to discuss any questions or concerns. Everything is on video at all times to create visibility and of course, confidence that your dog is being cared for. Our experience so far has been amazing. Great people.
From the very first time until currently, my furboy and I have had only good experiences with Camp Bow Wow in Hoover. He has basically been going since the doors opened. While he 'only' gets to go once a week for play time, nothing would please him more than to go every day. Being around the other dogs has taught him to be playful and never meet a stranger. In addition, the people who work there are great starting from remembering his name to knowing his little quirks, like preferring to drink water from the cooler instead of a bowl. The facility is always clean and offers any type of furbaby service you may need. My furboy has not spent the night away before, but if that time should come, I would not hesitate to let him stay at Camp Bow Wow!
Camp Bow Wow is awesome! The whole place is extremely clean and the staff is so friendly! They have been fostering for Adopt a Golden Birmingham and we cannot thank Greg and his team enough for supporting the organization. All our dogs are happy and healthy at CBW! I'd recommend Bow Wow to anyone looking for a safe and fun place to board their pets!
The owner Greg and his team do an amazing job with our fur babies, Riley and Mia. They truly care about the dogs and the facility is very clean! We drop the girls off for day camp, overnight stays and grooming. The biggest endorsement though comes from the girls themselves- when we tell them they are going to “camp”- they go running to get their leashes to head out!
Our two dogs have long been enjoying the excellent care and love that CBW staff show to all their four-legged clients. Recently we've been fostering a dog for someone who was no longer able to care for her. CBW has been the perfect place for her to socialize with other dogs for the first time in her life, and to get introduced to our two in a neutral environment. Being able to watch the progress in her behavior from the comfort of our own home has been priceless, knowing that she's doing so in a safe and loving environment has been a huge weight off our minds. If you are thinking about using CBW Hoover for doggie daycare, think no more! From reception to the owner himself, they are polite, professional, and above all, kind. Here are our two, Charlie and Mags, and Trinity the Boxer/Bulldog, winding down after another day of playing with their friends:
We live in Nashville and our dog, June, is a regular camper. We have family in Hoover, so we boarded her for one night while we were in town visiting. The front desk staff were so friendly and every time we checked in on our dog via the cameras, the person in the play area was giving her pets. Great experience, and we'll be back!
3 day stay. I truly enjoyed the staff and being able to watch my baby interact with other dogs. He was returned to me just as happy as I dropped him off. A wonderful experience.
We have been going to Pet Suites for a year now and our dog Molly loves it!! She started in the puppy preschool which was a great way to get her socialized. Then she did independent day boarding which she loved because she had all of the amazing staff’s attention. Now she does group play and she loves getting to play with the other dogs and staff. We have also boarded her there when we go out of town. The staff is always so excited to see her and we know she is treated amazing when she is there! All of the staff is truly amazing and really cares about all the dogs and cats there. We highly recommend Pet Suites Hoover!
My son is the only person that I’ve ever left my dog with. Three months ago he moved to a different state that is eight hours away. I was gone for three days and this was the first time that Royal my pitbull had ever been boarded. She suffers from separation anxiety, so bad and I was so worried! When I got back, Royal was happy to see me, but she still wanted to play with the employees instead of leave. When she got home, she ate her dinner and went straight to her bed and slept all night. I had to make her get up in the morning to use it and then she came back in and went right to sleep. She was exhausted From all the activities that she did over the course of three days. I love the fact that they provide pictures! There were so many pictures of her playing and getting pets! The only reason I did not give them five stars is because all of her pics were done on the 3rd day. The day of her pick up. I will definitely use PetSuites again. Thank you for giving me peace of mind and thank you so much for taking care of Royal in the manner that you did! Y’all are awesome!!!
I love PetSuites Hoover and my dog does too. I can’t even say the word “daycare” without her going crazy, and she gets so excited to go. I love being able to watch her on camera, running and playing with all the other dogs. And at the end of the day she comes home happy and exhausted! The staff are so friendly and really love on my pup! So easy to book a stay. Pawgress reports are fun to receive, too, especially when she was tiny and in puppy preschool. Grateful to have PetSuites here!
So I dropped my dog off for the first time here. He stayed Thursday through Sunday. When I came to pick him up I was told he used the restroom in his room( which he doesn’t do) so I was wondering how long before he went to the restroom. Then when she brought him out his mouth was red and bleeding. I called the next day to try to figure it out or what happened. I sent before and after pictures which they claimed nobody noticed a black cane Corso having a bright red mouth when I dropped him off it was black. I asked could they even give me a day it may have happened which they claimed they couldn’t because they didn’t notice. Safe to say after $150 of money spent I will not be bringing my dog back. First picture is before drop off second picture is when I picked him up.
Great time…my fur baby was well received and taken care of! We had a camera in her Townhouse to look in on her! This was great! Many pictures of play were posted and she returned home tired but full of energy! Everyone we had contact with was outstanding, personable and happy to see their vacationing resident! We’ll definitely be back!❤️
Such a great atmosphere! Every furry friend that entered the door came with such excitement. Not a single sad face. Thank you so much !
Got my 2 Goldendoodles way over due grooming as they were so very matted and I am extremely happy with how well and even their shave is. Awesome job and very decent price! I definitely recommend for grooming and plan to board my babies here as well soon so I will submit a review on boarding afterwards! Btw, it smells so good when you walk in, that’s just an extra plus to me ♥️ I’ve shared before and after photos 🥰
We took Our almost two years old Yorkie for the day when my husband had Doctors' appointments, and we planned to meet with relatives for lunch. We did this with some reluctance due to his not having been with other dogs. He did great. The staff was a pleasure to deal with, all smiles and welcoming, and we recommended the service to our daughter for her dogs. Will definitely be back for any time we need a pet sitter or grooming. We got home with one very tired out little guy, who promptly fell asleep. Hard to know exactly what they are thinking, but he seemed so content.
This was our first time boarding our puppy. As a rescue dog, she is extremely skittish, and gets terrified of random things. We were very very worried she would be so scared and not do well. Boy were we wrong! The staff at Pet Suites made the whole experience great! They sent me texts updating us on her, asking questions if need be, and even calling me the morning we were picking her up. They eased my worried dog mom heart and made us feel so good. Our dog has slept ever since we picked her up and from the pictures they sent on her “paw-gress” report, she had a blast. We will 10/10 be sending her back there!!!
I have 2 chocolate labs, Harvey and Henry. We have been coming to PetSuites Hoover for almost 2 years for puppy preschool and daycare. I've also boarded them several times. I have had minor issues but nothing that would stop me from bringing my 2 boys here. They seem to like it very well; gets very excited every time we pull up to the door. The facility seems well kept and the staff is super friendly and helpful. The hours of operation are another plus.
So far so good. We take Hermes twice a week for half day and they are very accommodating to our schedule. No issues, good experience. He loves when we pull up to Helena Dog House. He gets so excited.
We boarded our two four legged kids with Helena Dog House from May 20-23. Nicole was very nice and patient. Their location was very convenient for us. The dogs were cared for very well. Thank you Helena Dog House!
Awesome people, very caring and compassionate staff. Our doggo loves their staff!
We have used them twice so far, for daycare and for overnight boarding. Both times they were excellent. Of course I can't see what's going on when they are there and I'm out of town but our dogs are always in great spirits and seem to have been very well cared for when we come back. These guys really seem to care about our fur babies. We will keep coming back.
We love Helena Dog House for boarding. We took our cats there whenever we had to go out of town. One of our cats had just had surgery and I was so worried about leaving him. Helena Dog House took such good care of them and even checked in with me so I would know how he was doing. I can’t say how much peace of mind it gave me to know my baby kitties were so loved in my absence. Thank you Helena Dog House!!!
Boarded for 4 days. He came home with poop on his bed, blanket, everything. He's very well housebroken, so this tells me that he either wasn't going out often enough or wasn't given enough time to finish the job when he was out. I also don't like that the "yard" is common gravel ... Like they just put a fence up around an old parking lot. It should be grass, turf, outdoor carpet, something that's not a safety hazard. I seriously doubt I'll try them again, but he came home alive, so there's that. What they do have going for them are the reasonable rates. It's nigh impossible to find an affordable place in this area, but price shouldn't justify quality of care. Amenities perhaps, but not basics. I also like that the "houses" are wood instead of cages. On the other hand, the wood gets chewed on sometimes and I can see that being a safety hazard, too. The place has potential, but needs some real improvements.
I have been very pleased with the grooming service. Enzo went there frequently, and he liked the daycare. Roxie is trying the boarding for the first time. I will update when she gets home.
We take Dapper Dave to Ms. Emily of Emily's Furtastic located inside Helena Dog House. She is the most talented and patient groomer we've ever had. 5 stars to her. We've also used the boarding facilities which are outstanding. Everyone at Helena Dog House loves animals and offers services to care for, entertain and more. Highly recommend.
It's a great place and they really seem to care about the dogs. My only concern is that their price is high compared to other options nearby. For example, my dog would be over $40/night for a kennel. But they do take them out to socialize a lot. At my vet just a few minutes away, it is $22/day and $5/day for them to be in doggie day care. I keep Helena Dog House as a backup if I dont have other options... if they were priced similar or same as my other options, I would likely use them as primary go to for boarding.
Great service. Staff is so friendly! My dog looked fantastic and better yet he loved being there. I also go there to get vaccinations when Dr Lombardo is there once a month, super convenient and affordable.
Huck is always happy to go to the Pawms. He stays for a few days, or a week+ and is happy when we drop him and happy when we pick him up. He also gets groomed there. He always looks great and is never scared or upset. The whole staff knows him and we can all tell he is well taken care of there! We all love The Pawms!
This was my first time boarding my dog Clementine with Pawms. She was relaxed and well cared for when I picked her up, and I was able to ask for updates on her throughout her stay. Thank you for taking great care of her! We will be back!
Birdie very much enjoyed her time at daycare and is lookin fresh after her bath. Thx Zac and the rest of the Pawms crew for making it easy. 😎 We will be back. …
Hank loves to visit the Pawms when we travel. He knows when we pull into the parking lot and can’t stop wagging his tail. He is always welcomed into the lobby and well taken care of. When he gets a bath he is very clean and smells good (which is hard because he has lots of hair). We would definitely recommend to others.
Our family LOVES the Pawms!! We treat our pet like part of the family, because she is! Our dog was bathed and brushed at the downtown. Our doggy seemed happy and content when we picked her up! They offer same-day service! And they really love dogs here!
Wonderful place to get your pets bathed and groomed. Highly suggest, they did an amazing job with my husky!
My dogs LOVE it going here. They are worn out from having so much fun at daycare. It is also nice to leave your dogs in the care of people that you trust when you go out of town. The groomer, Jill was also so kind and caring when grooming our elderly dog. I highly recommend daycare, boarding and grooming at the downtown Pawms!
I moved to Birmingham about a year ago for a residency program with my dog Krewe. His anxiety worsened in a new environment unfortunately and I was at my wits end on what to do. I couldn’t leave the house without him crying and I needed help!! I found pawms and decided to start taking krewe to daycare. He has completely changed and is much more carefree and his anxiety has improved so much! I am so thankful for the pawms team and all they’ve done for Krewe and I. They dote on him and take such good care of him. He was even selected for pet of the month 🥹 we will miss pawms so much when we leave next month. We love y’all! 💓
It seems like everyone leaves a bad review when a cut doesn’t go quite as planned. Let me tell you, Pawms did such a great job!!! Our Poodle had only ever had a puppy trim and we brought him in this week for a big boy cut. I didn’t want to go too short, but my spouse really wanted some length off of him. After speaking with the groomer (April, I think) - I felt like it would be ok to go about 50% shorter than his current, grown out length. He had 2-3 tangle that were really bad bc he’d been neutered two weeks earlier and had been uncomfortable and really wildr and I hadn’t given his coat the attention it needed. April called us before she did anything and let us know she couldn’t fix it without cutting them out. She was gonna have to go shorter with his coat to blend it in. I was a little worried, but our dog came home looking like a million dollars. I couldn’t be happier with the job she did. They are also really nice and the communication is stellar. We will definitely be back! Edit: the cut in around his leg is where he had to have an IV for surgery.
The Pawms is excellent! We have been taking our dog there for years for daycare and boarding and have always received exceptional service. Great team and great company!
Rudy, our Frenchton, did a 7-day Board and Train with Rick and it went very well. Rudy also goes to Barking Zone 2 - 3 days per week and absolutely loves it! He loves the trainers and is always well cared for while in their care.
Rick trained our Pyrenees/Aussie mix for a week. It was time and money well spent! She came home with an excellent foundation to be a happier (and more obedient) member of our family. Thank you Rick!
Where would I be without The Barking Zone! They always take such good care of my two dogs (one of which is a new puppy). Love picking them up from 'daycare' because they are wiped out by the time we get home. Just enough time to feed them and put them to bed:) Thankful for Rick and his amazing staff, always! JGreen
The Barking Zone has been the best thing for my Cavachon! He has made so many doggie friends & become much more social. All I have to say is ‘daycare’ & he sits waiting to go to the car for his ride there. Everyone there is absolutely excellent with him & I know he’s getting the best care possible every time!
Barking Zone has been fantastic for my pup Lou. He is beside himself with excitement when entering the clinic, and always comes home exhausted. It has been ideal for a high energy dog such as him.
I don't know what we were thinking when we adopted two puppies from the same litter, who both grew to be over 50 pounds. I was heartbroken over the loss of my beloved Pepper who hardly needed any training and was the best angel dog. Anyway, fast forward to 59# Lulu and her 63# brother Levi, who had gotten beyond our control with barking, jumping, chewing, and separation anxiety. We knew from boarding our daughter's dog with Rick at Barking Zone 4+ years ago that it was going to be the best solution for these siblings. At 15 months old, we knew it was the optimal time for them to take the remote collar board and train party. Sooner might have been better, but we were able to combine their boarding with our vacation. Rick and his head trainer posted daily updates on instagram and Facebook so we could see their progress. When we got home, these dogs were obedient and so much calmer, still remaining loving and sweet. Some people worry that prong and education collar training will crush a dog's spirit, but don't - Rick and crew know what they are doing! Lulu and Levi are happy and healthy, loving as always, and we are continuing to reinforce what they learned to keep them calm and obedient. We highly recommend The Barking Zone! Thanks Rick!!
Upon recommendation from our friends, we had our two dogs, Duke and Bentley, do a week long board and train with Rick and his staff at The Barking Zone. Both our dogs were big time pullers on walks and weren't the best at following commands at home. After a week, we were able to pick up Bentley, but Rick suggested a few more days for Duke and for him to get a remote collar. Rick was great at both of the pick up sessions for our dogs. He showed us how to do everything and then watched and helped us do the commands with the dogs to make sure we had them down. We could not be happier with the results we have seen from their training.
Rick and his staff have been a great in helping us with our 6 month old puppy who loved to counter-surf and would not come when called. In addition, his program introduced our puppy how to socialize with other dogs appropriately. We still have a lot to do on our own but Rick has given us the tools to succeed. His program includes written books and videos for us to reference if we need. We are extremely happy with the service and results!
My dog Moose was terrible on a walk and barked at every new person that came to my house. I decided to try the two week board and train program after hearing great things about The Barking Zone from coworkers. It's been great! I finally feel like I have the methods and tools to have the relationship with my dog that I want. He's much calmer and has improved significantly on walks. Also, the place command has been a game changer. Rick has been so helpful. He checks in and continues to provide help with techniques that we've had trouble with at home. I know he wants my dog to succeed. I highly recommend The Barking Zone! Thanks Rick!
I like Rick a lot. He is a very experienced and successful trainer. Passionate about training canines and their humans as well.
