Lexi and Mat are excellent 'pet parents' and did all they could before the sit to brief us in writing and give us 'hands on' time with Rodman who is a gentle Rhodesian Ridgeback as well as familiarise us with their home. Throughout our time caring for Rodman and looking after their home they were supportive and encouraging of us. Sue and I thoroughly recommend them as 'pet parents' to Rodman and to sit for them. We enjoyed our sit, everything was well organized and we so loved the dogs. Tucker gained some spunk once we introduced meal mixers and Skylar loved the extra daily long walks, and snuggles on the couch.
Karl and I had an amazing time caring for Frances and David's fabulous furry foursome. Finlay is a Collie with the most adoreable nature and boundless energy and was brilliant company on trips to explore the local beaches and the broads. We were so impressed with his good manners around other dogs and his amazing ability to remember the names of 57 toys. The kitties were lovely too. Tommy is very much a gourmet and is keen to know what you are cooking and to hint for tidbits. Charlie is a real lap cat and Rosie loves to have her back rubbed and has the softest fur imaginable. Frances and David have an amazing family home, with a very well equipped kitchen and a choice of two living rooms; one with a log burner. They have a very beautiful garden with lots of ball throwing space and there are some georgeous country walks on the doorstep with the picturesque city of Norwich is just 15 minutes away. We hope to be invited back to look after Finlay and his feline chums again but have no hesitation in recommending this as a five star sit!
We loved our stay in Fittleworth. We were immediately struck by how stylish and characterful the house was, and it was easy and fun to get settled in. We had a large double bed in the guest bedroom which kept us cosy and warm, and we found the alarm system was easy once you got the hang of it. The surrounding garden is beautiful, and there are some really lovely forest walks within a short distance from the house which we would highly recommend. However, we would recommend taking a map or a phone with location services because it was easy to get lost! Doofer was one of the friendliest, sweetest cats we've ever met and we'll miss her. She was very low maintenance, spending most of her time curled up on the sofa asleep, and then mostly going in and out of her cat flap during the night. She will definitely let you know that she's hungry with some big (and very cute) meows, so feeding her was very easy! And she loved to come and snuggle up with us on the sofa and have a good purr. There are several people who come to take care of various aspects of the home each week, such as someone to take care of the pool, a couple of gardeners, and a cleaner. Several people also stopped off to pick up some of Emmelina's pottery, and others came to collect some wine from the barn. They were all really friendly and nonintrusive. Because of this we did find it was important for us to be in the house a lot of the time in order to facilitate the comings and goings of the various people. Emmelina and Clive were friendly, relaxed and easy going. They gave us heads up messages on WhatsApp to let us know about who would be coming and going from the house, what to do with the various parcels arriving in the post, and just general house stuff that we needed to know. We hope to someday return to Fittleworth!
Elspeth is a very kind, easy going and generous host. We were there over Christmas, a bottle of wine was left on the table for us. Patson only showed up at feeding times in the first few days while Panda checked us out from a little distance. Towards the end of our 7 day stay Patson decided we were safe and slept on the bed with us. Both are interesting characters. The apartment is very spacious with high ceilings , lightfilled, has a great view over the city, is quiet, has a huge library as well. we felt very comfortable .Prime location , only a short walk to Rustavale Avenue. Also Bold taxis are very inexpensive. We loved our stay. Highly recommended
Looking after Bonnie was so pleasant. She is so lovely and nice! The house is beautiful, well located and there are many walks around. Adrian is so kind, he shows us the centre town and give us good advice to take care of his adorable dog. We really enjoyed to look after Bonnie and we would like to come back again.
